So glad to find someone here on TH-cam who reviews food that's not afraid of eating fat! I love prime rib and I hate it when restaurants trim your food for you!
I'm so glad you noticed! When we eat prime rib there is NOTHING left on the plate. I always keep a bit of fat on the side and cut a piece to have with the meat if there isn't much fat on that particular piece of meat. The fat is where it's at, 😋😋
I agree with your list 100%. The best thing about South Point is that they serve the same prime rib in the buffet during brunch & dinner on the weekends. You can get it cut as thick as your heart desire’s.
We enjoy prime rib at Primarily Prime upstairs from the Coronado Cafe at South Point. The price point is slightly more but there is more variety of cuts. The atmosphere is more romantic too!
I am old enough to remember the "old Las Vegas".... it was so different than today and was always a fun place to visit in anticipation of the food. .99 cent shrimp cocktails! Thanks for the 3 reviews, always appreciate what you do. Tks. Karla in Cali.
I totally agree! My parents came here all the time and I was always so excited each trip mostly for the food but also the shows. It left an indelible mark on my childhood and I still get excited when going to the restaurants here. I too miss those .99 shrimp cocktails! Thanks for watching.
We are one mile from South Point and have frequented Primarily Prime Rib and Zenshin. On occasion the Mexican restaurant and Don Vitos (awesome Chilean seabass). Only ever had breakfast at Coronado Cafe. All in all, South Point is our fav spot for dining. Great video 👏
@@LetsEatVegas South Point is where I usually stay and it's a great place for food. You can also get the T-bone for the same price that comes with onion rings. I also really like Jerry's Nugget because of the exceptional desserts. I do agree the fries are much better at South Point.
I love the prime rib at Ellis Island. All their food is pretty good. I haven't eaten at Jerry's nugget yet. I will have to try it. Coronado Cafe is good too.
I’m really happy to have discovered your channel. As a longtime Vegas resident we go to the usual places. Now I’m excited to try new places. I can’t believe you didn’t include the California Hotel prime rib dinner. It comes with all the fixings and dessert for around $22!
Yes, that is a good deal at the California but we try to pick places which have lunch options as well and the California doesn't have the prime rib deal until 4pm. Thanks for watching! Many more local restaurant reviews coming, 😁😁😋😋
It's very good and a deal for the price. I always look forward to having their Prime Rib. But, we felt Coronado's was just a higher quality or Prime Rib. Also, the people at Coronado were much friendlier.
Agreed! I used to ask for them to double up on the fries, which most places won't do, but for reviewing purposes I'm stuck having to accept the plate as -is. Thanks for watching!!
Our pleasure! Hope you have a great time, 😁😁 (make sure to watch our next review as it may give you some ideas for some other things to order at Coronado) 😋😋
The buffet at South Point is now offering prime rib as part of its regular dinner menu Sunday through Thursday, and I've found it every bit as good as the prime rib in the Coronado Cafe.
The Prime Rib at the buffet is very good. We did a video on their buffet (The Garden Buffet) and loved the prime rib. It's the best buffet deal in town if you're a beef lover. Hmm, just went to their website and they say the Buffet Prime Rib is offered EVERY night for dinner and during the Champagne Brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 8AM to 3PM.
We considered Lawry's, but it isn't really a bargain hotel cafe type place. As for the California, we had some logistical trouble and weren't able to get there in time to make the video but we'll be checking them out soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ah, I see. Makes sense. Well, we considered Tony Roma's but until just a few weeks ago they were only offering the Prime Rib starting at 10PM and we also see Roma's as more of a chain restaurant and not a local hotel place. I see they recently raised their prime rib dinner price from $8.99 to $10.99.
Aloha guys! I bet you're going back to the Coronado Cafe for the Chinese food. Marilyn's used to have a good deal on prime rib. It's a little off strip in a hotel/casino whose name I can't recall. Tuscany? Mahalo for a great video.
Hmmm, Marilyn's, 🤔, never heard of it. Will have to look it up! Thanks for the tip. As for the Coronado secret...you'll just have to wait until next week, lol, 😁😁 Thanks for watching and commenting.
I loved your intro but that was way before my time…. But it reminded me of the first I went to Vegas. It was truly 24 hours and I went to shows all night long… I miss that and the food prices of course…. It is nice to see you are reviewing all price levels so people can make choices when going to Vegas…. I do miss the old days… but it is what it is….
Yes, guess we're giving away our age a bit talking about the 70s, lol. And yes, great shows. It's funny, all the shows now cater to the baby boomers. David Copperfield, Donny Osmond, etc, etc. It's time to move on, lol. Thanks for watching!
Something that just came up on my feed was Frankly Vegas….. seems like someone has imitated your style of video….so I wondered if it is your partner or an imposter?
OK, more to add to this story. I had never heard of them until your comment and so I looked them up just now. Their channel began in 2023, 8 months prior to ours, so they definitely aren't copying us, lol.
Thank you for your follow up. So it started before your channel yet you have a lot more subscribers. There is a message in there how well you produce your videos…. So great job!!!!
california hotel used to be great value with seems to get frozen green beans with 5:35 unlimited salad bar with cherries jubilee and low price. now just salad or soup and cherries jubilee at $20 , i have eaten at all places.
I’m here at Coronado Cafe and I think Ellis Island still my favorite, with a bigger, more satisfying cut. But one thing I learned is Vegas hotels have good and bad days when it comes to prime rib, so on this particular day Coronado not quite as good as Ellis Island Village Pub, but it was still good and glad I tried it. Will probably try Primarily Prime Rib upstairs
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, there can be large discrepancies from day to day at these hotel restaurants. In addition to Primarily Prime Rib you should also consider Southpoint's Garden Buffet. The Prime Rib can be very good there and it's very inexpensive. We did a video on it: th-cam.com/video/-GUw5hHPsWk/w-d-xo.html
I had the prime rib special at Tony Roma's on Fremont Street. It was $8.99 in 2021. Based on a quick search I think it's $10.99 now? It was pretty darn good for that price though. Only available 4:30-6:30 and I'm not sure if its every day of the week.
Yes, Tony Roma's is a pretty good deal for what it is. We did consider including them but thought it was more of a chain type restaurant the hours of the deal were too restrictive. But if you can make it at those hours it's well worth it! Thanks for commenting, 😁😁
Ahh! So i got suckered into buying a timeshare 15+ years ago at the Grandview. I walked over to the SouthPoint next door and discovered "Primarily Prime Rib" and oh man, every time i goto Vegas i usually make a night to get some prime rib over there. Prices arent that crazy, not as good as the cafe obviously. Im heading to vegas this Sunday woohoo!!!
I've been to Primarily Prime Rib at southpoint a handful of times and it never disappoints. $40 for a 16oz Cajun style steak with mashed potatoes and a salad. I haven't tried Lawrys yet but it's on my list to try
OK, but if you go to The Coronado Cafe and get 2 Prime Rib dinners, then stack the prime ribs, you'll have a 20oz prime rib for $40 plus you can order all the sides: baked potato and soup with one of your orders and the fries and salad with the other order. Wow, pretty unbeatable deal for $40.
I'm not sure as I've not had the Cajun at Primarily, but the Prime Rib at Coronado is every bit as good as the Prime Rib at Primarily. Coronado also has another secret we'll be reviewing in our next video!
It really is! We totally agree. If you are all about prime rib, go to the buffet for the prime rib...it's the best deal in town. Go to the cafe if Prime Rib isn't your main focus but want a well rounded meal.
Yes, when I first moved here in 2017 Jerry's was fantastic...especially the double cut 50oz prime rib. But, over the next few years it dropped off in quality and now they've stopped the double cut entirely. They have also become kind of weird there. The security people during the shutdowns became more and more paranoid and inhuman. Kind of made going there not much fun. They gave us a hard time about shooting the video which at the time was done with just my cell phone. It's too bad. Used to be such a great place. Thanks for watching!!
Can't argue with those choices. Sadly the time of the Longhorn being on the list is over, they used to have fantastic prime rib at a great price, now it's blah prime rib at expensive prices.
Tony Roma's in the Fremont Hotel offers a $10.99 prime rib dinner, recently raised from $8.99, between 4:30 - 6:30pm every day. It' might not as good as any of the ones on your list, but at less than half the price, it might be worth consideration.
Just found your channel & I'm about to go to sleep but have a burning question. Which restaurant serves the best prime rib in Las Vegas regardless of price? thank you
Hmmm, good question. As for the buffets (of which we've done many reviews) I would say either Anthony's Prime or Bacchanal. As for the restaurants, we haven't reviewed many of those yet but The Golden Steer is probably tops. I know Lawry's is always highly thought of but not my cup of tea. It always lacks that crusty out layer of seasoning. We did a review of Siegel's 1941 @El Cortez in downtown. We didn't show the prime rib in the review but did order it. It was very very good. It was a $19.99 prime rib dinner deal and so it was a small cut (8oz?), but they also have larger cuts available in the $40-$60 range. I'm looking forward to returning to try the larger version. Hope that helps! 🥩🥩😁😁
Yes, we went there about two or three years ago and it wasn't all that great. All the accompanying dishes were pretty good but oddly the prime rib wasn't very flavorful. We should try it again as it's been a while now.
I ordered the prime rib from Jerrys and it wasn't very good. The desserts are really good though. Ellis Island prime rib is really tasty. I don't like the green beans though. Their Cheesecake is one of the best! I've never tried the Coronado Cafe.
It sounds like we are in total agreement except I felt the cheesecake at Jerry's was better than the one at Ellis. Definitely check out Coronado Cafe, 😋
Agreed about the deal part. As for the flavor...I used to go to the Lawry's in Beverly Hills all the time. I like Lawry's but I prefer it when the Prime Rib has that salty, peppery crust on the end cap which simply isn't Lawry's style, so, I always find their Rib a little disappointing. I do greatly enjoy the sterling service and the spinning salad as Lawry's! Thanks for watching and commenting!! 😁😁
Las Vegas needs more small independent operators instead of more of the giant corporate run places. That is how you create more competition to bring down prices.
I ate at the village pub earlier this month. My wife and I went there for the chicken fried steak. When we told the waitress what we wanted She asked us whether we wanted chicken fried steak, or chicken fried chicken. That's the first I ever heard of chicken fried chicken. Needless to say we ordered a chicken fried steak. But much to our surprise. It was not chicken fried steak but rather chicken fried pork.
I have heard of chicken fried chicken...it's usually fried chicken but the chicken breast has been pounded thin like a milanesa. Anyway, funny that's not even what they brought you. There is a strange vibe to Ellis which we didn't go into too much because we usually try to keep it about the food as much as possible. Honestly, both Jerry's and Ellis Island have a cold and unenthusiastic staff. You may notice how poor the picture quality is on the Jerry's part of our video. This is due to the obvious discomfort our server had about us filming and so we didn't use any external lighting or take the time we usually do so as not to further bother our server. Coronado was the exact opposite. Very friendly and accommodating. We got to know two servers and a busser very well and we discussed many elements of our channel and how to make videos. It was a fun time. Anyway...some behind the scenes thoughts there, lol. Thanks for watching!
@LetsEatVegas I apologize for not saying this earlier. But thank you for the video I do appreciate it. By the way, have you ever tried PK oyster bar. It is very similar to Palace station oyster bar. The difference is that it is an actual restaurant. And not a bar. And you don't have to wait.
Thanks for the suggestion! I've not heard of PK. I got terribly sick on oysters 2 years ago and lost my desire for them, 🤢. I'm just now getting it back so I'll have to look into PK.
Yes, that's confusing...and blasphemy! You should have gotten up and run to the nearest exit as soon as possible, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting, 😁
When I first moved up here I would have agreed with you, but Jerry's has slipped a little...much higher prices, much smaller cut, and wildly inconsistent over the last few years. For the money you can't beat Southpoint's buffet. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting!!
7:35 prime rib has nothing to do with prime standards. yes you can get prime grade prime rib, but prime rib name is that it comes from the primal cut whole section of beef. if you butchered the primal cut down further you just get ribeye steaks etc.
True about prime rib and primal cuts, but what I was referring to is one's expectation that you're getting a prime grade when dining out especially for a cut of meat where marbelization is one of the central selling features. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the comment.
I would beg to differ as the Coronado at South Point is more of a locals place than a Strip place. At least it is to me as a local who lives in Henderson.
Well, we did ask for it rare, so, it was prepared properly for us. Just let them know how you like it and all three places are good at delivering it that way!
Overpriced, yes, compared to the 'old days' (although inflation isn't Vegas's fault). A cesspool? Not at all. The Vegas of today is far cleaner and more respectable than ever before. You should go back and look at the video of Vegas of the 70s and look closely...much more depravity (XXX rated shows, X rated adult shops, etc) in your face than you'll see today on the strip. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting. It's great to hear all points of view!
@@LetsEatVegas Hey, I’ve been there twice in recent years. I’m not blind. And I couldn’t help but notice how when it turns dark hordes of street people come out like cockroaches and take over the sidewalks and building fronts.

Yes, there was a lot of that right after things reopened after the lockdowns. Many places were desperate for business...any business...and greatly lowered the prices and it attracted all types. That persisted for a good 12 to 18 months later. Today, things have returned to a more normal clientele.

@@LetsEatVegas My wife and I order the seafood pan roast. It has no oysters.
My friend Linda and I had a prime rib dinner in Las Vegas. I didn’t understand why she poured ketchup on her prime rib? Lol
Yes, that's confusing...and blasphemy! You should have gotten up and run to the nearest exit as soon as possible, lol. Thanks for watching and commenting, 😁
$5.99 Prime Rib and.99 shrimp cocktail are long gone on the strip, all casinos are owned by three companies, no compaction!
drool and Im HUNgry now
The king cut prime rib is now about $35 and not as big as it used to be.
Yes, and sadly they don't even offer the huge cut any more, 😔😭. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🥩🥩💖💖
i love jerrys prime rib, i can never finish the thick cut prime rib
When is the last time you went there? They don't have the super thick cut any more, 😔🥩
Dang i want prime rib now!!
I know! Take that feeling and multiply it by 10...that's what happens when you MAKE these videos, lol.
We love SouthPoint, it's just a bit far.
Yes, it's a little ways out but worth the trip, 😁😋😋. Thanks for watching!!
Prime rib = Jerry's nugget
When I first moved up here I would have agreed with you, but Jerry's has slipped a little...much higher prices, much smaller cut, and wildly inconsistent over the last few years. For the money you can't beat Southpoint's buffet. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting!!
Sounds like you guys have a “prime rib addiction “😂
We might, lol. 😋😋
Obviously, no local joint is mentioned. I guess the audience is strip based.
Yes, the review is based on hotel prime rib dinners on 'the strip'.
I would beg to differ as the Coronado at South Point is more of a locals place than a Strip place. At least it is to me as a local who lives in Henderson.
Bunch a cowboys
Exactly! Thanks for watching our channel, 😁
That Prime Rib looks it was cooked raw
Well, we did ask for it rare, so, it was prepared properly for us. Just let them know how you like it and all three places are good at delivering it that way!
Now Vegas is an overpriced cesspool. I doubt I will ever go back.
@@LetsEatVegas Butnyoy are a good food reviewer and all around trip advisor for LV and if I decide to come back, I will definitely apply your information and advice.
Yes, there was a lot of that right after things reopened after the lockdowns. Many places were desperate for business...any business...and greatly lowered the prices and it attracted all types. That persisted for a good 12 to 18 months later. Today, things have returned to a more normal clientele.
Thank you for not liking Ellis Island! Because of course it's the best deal and best prime rib. So people, STAY AWAY! It's already to crowded.
You're very welcome...any other places you'd like us to not like? lol
Eat raw bloody meat? No thanks.
Well, they have this new thing where you can ask for it cooked as you like and they'll give it to you that way. It's amazing!
Too Funny! Good JOB!
Glad you enjoyed!
Your awesome fella ! 👍👍You call it as you see it and quote the current prices.😁😁 BRAVO !! 😀😀Not like hundreds of wannabe , suckarse, butt kissing food reviewers on TH-cam !🤬🤬😡😡Keep up the great work !!☺☺☺☺
Thank you! Amazingly some have accused us of being only cheerleaders?? So, thanks for noticing, 😁😁😁😁!!
Ewwwwwwwww raw meat, not good!!!!
Yummmm! Rare meat....love it! But, if you want it cooked more just ask them and they gladly accommodate you, 😁
