It's a new villain y'all
Hope you enjoy Cinderella's villain song! She's a gal whose just over the fairytale love story and being sold dreams of a happy ending. Now she's embracing being an agent of chaos and we love her for it.
We've gone a lot rockier with this arrangement and I LOVE IT, big up Tony Halliwell for producing this track, it slaps. And the artwork?!? My God @sarahsworks you have OUTDONE YOURSELF. Links to find them below.
✨CINDERELLA'S VILLAIN STORY✨
The day is mild, the sun glowing sweetly in the sky and Cinderella sits at her desk waiting with bated breath for the man she loves to walk through the door and save her. Only last night she met her soul mate, the person she knew she’d spend the rest of her life with. Then the clock struck twelve and Cinderella’s spell was broken, forcing them apart. But the power of love is strong, she’s read it in her books, and it can conquer all.
Finally the prince's men arrive, she knew he’d come for her! Cinderella races to her door to greet them, only to find that she had been locked in by her evil stepmother. Quickly, Cinderella sends her mice friends downstairs to retrieve the key, but unlike the tale you may be familiar with, they are unable to steal the key in time and so Cinderella misses their visit and her chance to be with the prince.
Cinderella remains in her room, locked there for weeks, living off of the hope that the Prince must be waiting for her. She has always been a being of love and hope, it’s all that’s gotten her through those years living as a servant, all that has gotten her through these tortuous weeks, the hope that there was a light, there was love at the end of the tunnel. If you stayed strong and treated those around you with kindness, no matter what they threw at you, then eventually you would find happiness too. Her Fairy Godmother would visit occasionally, encouraging her to wait, that much as she may wish, she cannot interfere in the course of true love anymore, the prince must come for her. And at long last her time was about to arrive, the man she loved would come for her eventually and she would finally step into a life she deserved. She just had to remain patient.
One afternoon, Cinderella is sitting at her desk again, her regular spot as she waits for her prince and to her surprise, her Fairy Godmother arrives to deliver some news. News that rocks Cinderella to her core. The prince has given up his search to find her. The prince has married another.
Cinderella’s heart plummets, at the height of her hope, the precipice of a new life, she is thrown right back to where she started. She truly thought this was her time, that the prince was different. A shadow crosses Cinderella’s face, a darkness she hasn’t felt ever before entering her heart. In a world full of evil even the purest of hearts can break and become something darker, something unrecognizable. For so long she had hoped for a life different to the one she had been given, she had taken the high road and sacrificed her own wellbeing in the process. But the high road suddenly looks far too high to climb and the low road seems very very appealing. Forgiveness and kindness have gotten her nowhere and so maybe it’s time for a different approach.
So this is love? Well if that’s the case, then she doesn’t want it. In fact she’ll ensure it’s something she never has to worry about again. After all, isn’t it about time she took back control of her life?

I loved the detail when Anastasia and Drizella come to check on Cinderella, their expressions tell alot. Drizella is glaring with a frown, while Anastasia looks concerned. It shows her good side from the sequels of the Cinderella movies.

It makes you realize that Lady T and her daughters were insanely LUCKY that Cinderella was as kind and forgiving as she was.
Especially considering the original take ends with them becoming blind and Cinderella not caring at all

My favorite detail is the lack of eyes In people as she slowly stops caring. Like the prince had eyes at the beginning and is now just a faceless being who is in her way. She truly now only sees herself and I love it

My favourite part is when she says "You know he didn't even ask me my name that night" just before the song starts she speaks with a Voice of the Legion as if demonically possessed. VERY nice special effects.

But in the movie he does say “i dont even know your name, how will i find you?” And cinderella doesnt give it as she runs away
"So this is love?" being used spitefully is such an awesome premise.
I think the ending is so interesting! The clock striking midnight could mean that Cinderella’s magic stops working at the exact moment she tries to attack the Prince, and she ends up losing. Or it’s just a cool way to end the video and I’m over analyzing lol. Either way, amazing singing, and the animatic is awesome as well!
It's a possibility, but the magic that cinderalla got from godmother isn't always "weak" to stop midnight, it's powerful enough to change timelines (3° movie), so we can guess the clock is a sign of another thing: the time of love that cinderella ended there, if the dream started in a badallad, will end on another, as the godmother said, but she didn't said when these badalads would be. with the end of her dreams, another motivations have to replace, like greed for power? revenge? be free? whatever happened, she won in this fight.
Alternately, the lyrics earlier talk about midnight as when the Prince's time is up, so this is Cinderella following up on that promise

Cinderella turning her step sisters into pumpkins was honestly deserving, they mistreated her for years and she finally got her revenge. Well, I did have some sympathy for Anastasia because she did end up regretting hurting Cinderella and she also showed concern for her in the video, meaning she has some care for her.
Well, completely honest I feel bad for them, because it wasn't even their fault really. It was their mother who turned them against their stepsister
In the original, Anastasia even found her happy ever after.

From what we know, the Prince spent weeks searching for her until he resigned himself to the tragic fate of never seeing his truest love again. Then, she suddenly bursts into the castle full of anger and rage, attacking his very kingdom.
And Cindy... She's just completely broken...

I'm just picturing someone who fit the shoe well enough to fake it and just lied. Not out of malice or anything, but the chance to marry the kind, head over heals loving prince who just showed up to marry you. Wouldn't you be just a bit tempted?
Honestly, this villain arc really seems like it fits with the character & I think makes more sense than the actual ending of the storyline. Cinderella lost both her parents, was tormented & degraded by her stepfamily for years, and then the man she fell in love with "betraying her" was the final straw that made her snap (they literally had just met). Very fun song revision & animation! Amazing vocals (as always).
Trauma and hardships can really turn an innocent person into a villain.

True but I guess that's why Disney Princesses are so special they're so far removed from what a regular degular human being would do in a moment of spite
I like how I get the feeling that while yes she wants to win, she might not necessarily mind losing, considering all that she's already gone through and how she really has nothing left to lose, she's decided to go down the most cathartic path for her. If she wins, then she'll get everything she's ever dreamed for, and if she loses, well she doesn't have to suffer anymore and how can it get worse than what she went through every day of her life.
The most dangerous kind of person is someone with nothing left to lose. Now that she’s lost hope, she has nothing.
Most of these are women rightfully getting revenge after they’ve been wronged, a lot of them are objectively not even villains. I love how in this one Cinderella is just evil. She’s mad that a boy didn’t date her. Perfect villain!
Yay! If you're taking suggestions for your next villain song, do you want to do Nala from the Lion King? Here's what I'm thinking: Nala tries to get Simba to come back to Pride Rock like in canon. Only this time, Simba can't be swayed and stays in the oasis with Timon and Pumbaa. With no other options, Nala travels further until she finds another pride of lions. Out of anger at Simba's rejection, she murders that pride's leader and takes over. Now with an army of lionesses under her command, she rallies them to join her in taking over Pride Rock. I think you could use the song "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" plus "I Just Can't Wait To Be King". Just a suggestion, but I'd love to see what you do with it!

To be fair, in the movies Cinderella didn't know she was dancing with the prince until the next day. Presumably meaning nobody asked for a name bc they were both too swept up in each other.

I started watching you after your Rapunzel animatic, and since then your channel has had so much life, energy and power. It's incredibly impressive, you, the artists and everyone involved in making these songs and videos work so hard and I want to take a minute to appreciate that.

I like how after the ball, the hearts on Cinderella’s shoes are broken. Before, however, they weren’t. . . They were full.

I don't think I really appreciated until this song how important it is to Cinderella's story that she doesn't have any specific hopes beyond "someday things will get better." She maintains hope, certainly - that's a core part of her character - but she does not, at any point until things change, believe that things _can_ change in the short term. That's very realistic for someone who has been abused and gaslit for years by the time the story takes place. This song is almost an exploration of what could have been if she saw the Godmother's magic and the Prince's love as her big ticket out of squalor rather than simply seeing the ball as a one-night reprieve (which later turned into more).
I just loved how you chose to make Cinderella's dress in this, for the time the tale takes place, it would be so scandalous and shocking for people to see that it could have even be considered criminal of her to wear such revealing clothes, specially at the presence of royals, the eyes would immediately all turn to her and after showing them a fraction of her magic, the whole kingdom would have been horrified of her, consider her an incarnation of a demon if not the straight up devil, seeing the outfit and remembering these details made a shiver go down my spine in such an arousing way I didn't even know it was possible, I may just be a sucker for drama, but I loved this video as a whole, the music was explendidly cool and sinister, the animatic was impecably espectacular and the whole situation is just so amazing, your villain songs should become full on movies because I'm just coming up with entire stories for these, your work is a piece of art, a bunch of master piece after master piece that I just love consuming.

You know, I thought she was gonna become a vengeful queen getting back on her stepfamily and the aristocracy that plotted the downfall of her father. This is far softer and more sinister. Like it could have been the origin of the evil fairy in sleeping beauty.

I know I said I was terrified for Cinderella but I didn’t think she’d be next!!! Absolute banger and the at freeze frame at the end!!! THIS WAS BLOODY AMAZING!!!
The prince didn't just save her, he inadvertently saved the kingdom.
Is it weird that I'm cheering for the prince AND cinderella Both in this? The prince's biggest mistake was never asking her name, and using the glass slipper as his way of identification, I could easily see someone fitting it well enough and just... lying, to end up with the kind, happy lovestruck prince. I can picture this whole thing devolving years from now into a Heavily Charged Evil Queen vs rugged Rebel Prince sort of civil war, The Violence only matched by the level of sexual tension between the two of them.
You know, provided that neither of them lost their heads during that clash at the end.

First of all, THAT CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!!! Ahhhhh!! Amazing! Also the line that goes: "I will not be made a fool of, you'll regret the day you said love. Trick your prey into their cages, now you'll learn just who the prey is" is probably one of my FAVORITE lines you have ever written!!!! It is so good!!!! And I love the tempo! So smooth
I love the detail where the heart on her shoe breaks...really emphasizes how heartbroken and upset she really is!
And the ending.... definitely would love to see how that would have played out!! Yeah, the Prince has the sword, but Cinderella has the magic...

This one i really want to see someone come up for the lore for, since in the origional, her feeling the hots for the prince wasnt even really the motivation, she just wanted to go to the ball and have some fun. But i guess unlike the origional, here she was corrupted by the life with her stepmother
From reading the story in the description, it sounds like when she heard the prince was looking for her, she had hope she’d finally escape her stepfamily. Then when she learned he’d married somebody else, that hope was destroyed, and facing god-knows how much longer of being treated like a servant without any hope of freedom, she snapped and did what we saw in the video.
(Plus, it’s been a hot minute since I watched the movie, but wasn’t she crushing on the prince after the ball? She didn’t initially go to meet him, but IIRC after she met him the two of them hit it off pretty well.)

The fact u chose a jazz and rock genre music for her is absolutely genius gives me a mix of megara’s and Anna’s vibes and her new dress at 1:26 is freaking breathtaking and stunning!😍 And love how Anastasia’s expression is concerned about her knowing that she still has some good in her and still cares about her like in the second and third part🥺 while drizella just glares at her knowing that she still never cares about her! I just wish she got revenge on her stepmother too knowing that she hates her just for her beauty and gentleness so imagine Cinderella turning her into a frog or something it would be satisfying for her! Overall another amazing song girl!!💙👏🏼😆

@@lilyrose1581 I don't think that was her because they don't show her running past the Evil Cinderella, I think it was just one of the people in the audience, and it was meant to show what she was doing to the people who were running. Also, I think Cinderella locked all the people in so that there would be witnesses to what she was about to do to the prince. Either way, she knows who to be angry with.
@@toxicghost58 no it was her because Cinderella was behind her where the new Queen seems to be running towards the back behind the curtains or running to the prince who is just right beside the queen and Cinderella comes up behind her and walks past her after turning the person into the mouse

Cinderella just had a Jessica Rabbit mode in the evil queen style by the way that dress just came out! This was truly the best song ever!
I kinda liked how the end was open. Charming's sword was ready and so was Cinderella's wand, the clock just stroke midnight, did she manage to cast her spell on him and win or did the magic end and Charming cut her down?
Either way it still ends in tragedy, for neither of them was truly to blame for this turn of events.
I really like this little series, the villainous princesses feel much more human than their goody-two-shoes versions
The line “He didn’t even ask me my name that night” made me say DAMN out loud to myself 😂
Now that i think about it, it's sad that in this context, Cinderella not only got abused, mistreated and taken as a servant to her family and was longing for someone that loves her as who she is as person but now she's experiencing a broken heart by the prince, she got a lot of bad experiences with people that just treated her badly that there's no point for her to keep hoping for love because it's what happened to her was "love", then she doesn't want it anymore.
The voice, the meter, the animatic... I'm totally impressed.

I love the detail with the glass slippers now having broken hearts on them, reflecting how her heart is broken. She's been abused and mistreated her entire life, and now she's fallen in love with the only person who's ever shown her kindness, and he's betrayed her in her eyes. The thing is, this happens in real life. People who are abused and degraded and never shown kindness in their lives tend to grow attached to the first person who does. I know I did. I wasn't treated as badly as Cindy, but I definitely grew very attached to the only person who showed me a mother's love. I just got lucky that she was a good person. But yeah, this scenario is completely realistic and i could totally see Cindy going off like this.
Oh yep definitely don't blame her. This actually happened in the third film, where her stepmother got the wand turned back time made the slipper fit Anastasia, obviously Cinderella still got the happy ending, but imagine if she went to the castle got the wand back, imprisoned the royal family and made herself Queen.

OUGH I love the way her voice is still sweet, even dangerously so. Also props to the artist for her costume change. It looks loose and torn, mimicking the way the pink dress was torn to shreds by those uncaring, but now it is adorned with all the glitter and glam and audacity she was denied of her whole life, and I’m all for it!

That final card is phenomenal storytelling to me. The price has no idea he’s done anything wrong. He was nice to a girl who has repaid that kindness with brutality. And Cinderella fell in love with him just for him to break her heart. Thus, his just desserts.
I love how in a lot of the portraits, the wand almost looks like a sword with the way she's holding it.
The little detail on the slippers from the whole heart to the broken heart rlly made the animations for me:)

The more broken you are, two things happen: 1. You stop trying to please everyone who broke you, so no more politeness, and 2. if there's anyone you still care about, you never want them to feel the way you do, so you will go to any lengths to suppress those who hurt you before they hurt anyone else.

Never thought even my favorite classic Disney princess would get a bitter angsty villain song. I also really hope to see a villain song made for Belle from Beauty and the Beast or Nala with maybe a mix of "I just can't wait to be king" and "Can you feel the love tonight" or Kiara from the Lion King movies with "Love will find a way".
I need a version where she's hit with the reality of what being a crowned princess/future queen actually means, gets tired of being a figurehead and the rules, and basically becomes what her stepfamily was to her to the royal family.

I'm glad you kept cinderella's black choker. Disney getting rid of it has been a pet peeve of mine. It was symbolic of her black past (past of child abuse) "choking" her and her background is not something she'd easily be able to escape from (like in the 3rd movie).
I know that tirade was a bit of a stretch, but she was my favorite princess because her back story was very similar to mine. The black choker felt like representation, especially in contrast with the shiny silver dress. Disney erasing it felt too much like theyre ignoring the existence of child abuse victims/survivors in their demographic, which made kids like me feel like we're being erased.

I loved that the thing that tipped Cinderella overboard wasn’t her stepmother and stepsisters. Since that’s the thing I would expect. It makes perfect sense that she would tire of her family’s abuse and go out for revenge. But I think this fits better. Also a little tidbit for people who may not have noticed. (Im sure any of you who’ve watched Cinderella noticed it though!) when her dress rips it looks like a twin to the dress she originally was going to wear to the ball after it got ripped. Thank you for the wonderful animatic!

Easily one of the best villain songs u’ve made
As always, a twisted melody brings more joy than one meant to inspire it. Great song once again, but as a writer myself, I find much of the true beauty lies in the description and the backstory. Always a joy to read, and an inspiration to my own writing. Keep up the good work!
