I am on day 1 of week 2 here after emigrating to be with my husband, who has been here since February. It is a massive adjustment after living in the UK. Hoping to get my 2 boys (I have 5 but the 2 youngest came withme) into school, so that they can make some friends and start to build a life here. Thank you for your insight. I am glad to know I am not the only person to strugggle at first, and you are so right about gratitude.
I enjoyed watching this vlog Zoe. The different backdrops were superb and interesting. I feel you're growing so much more and accepting your decision as a Grenadian exile for all its few faults and many more positive wonderful benefits for body and mind. You are absolutely better off there! I had to deal with some crazy micro aggression yesterday at the doctors surgery and from a young woman. I said to my daughter if i was in a black country i might get the uncooperative non customer service, but it wouldn't be based on my skin colour. That is what I'm looking forward to not having to contend with. It's so exhausting...these people just don't learn. So you soak up Grenada with all it's snail pace time structure, we need to slow down from the Western style of living. It will improve when its ready, you've found your solution to outsource what you need to be done for your sanity and work schedule. I think you're amazing!! Btw do you twist/lock your hair yourself? It really suits you. Will look fab as it grows longer too.
Ann-Marie I'm so sorry to hear of your experience with your doctor. How draining! It's definitely a relief to be away from all of that 😩. Despite how it may sometimes come across in the videos, I LOVE being in Grenada. But at times the process of growth is very intense and I don't hold back on sharing that as it's an experience many "repats" /foreigners experience abroad and I want to be transparent about my journey 😊 Here's hoping you make it back here soon 🤞🏾
