I agree. This six movie saga is one of the best of all times and would hppefully be forever remember as a amazing saga. Add in the countless lore material especially from the EU, and there is so much to explore in the galaxy trom far away.
❤ STAR WARS ❤ What makes Star Wars so good? George Lucas, John Williams and the special effects people would be a correct if somewhat basic answer. I think the secret to the success of Lucas's two trilogies is a coherent and well thought out idea that all three movies in those connect well to. The originals were first going to be one movie which had to be divided into three because of it's massive size (which is the reason the Death Star is in two movies). The overall plot of the prequels is perhaps even better than the first three films since it was meant to be three films from the start, and Palpatine's plan is so awesome. Different, flawed, but still Star Wars. The sequels had no central idea or plot, and either rips off previous films or makes terrible choices. The prequels and Anakin are almost never mentioned. I am a few years older than you and so I had more time to familiarise myself with the six first Star Wars films before these movies came out, and I can say that your issues are not without reason and definitely very detrimental. The main issue with the series that followed is that these feel more like Star Wars STORIES than STAR WARS stories. Still love Star Wars so much! Possibly my absolute favourite franchise with some of my favourite movies and characters of all time. (The Clone Wars animated show is also fantastic!) I completely agree with you. Whilst the Original Trilogy and the Prequels definitely have their fair share of faults, the story they are telling is exciting, entertaining and on a massive scale, which overshadows any of the negative elements. In the sequels, however, the story, or lack thereof, is detrimental to the trilogy as it leaves us with pretty much only negative aspects. Our rankings of the movies are pretty similar! I like to pride myself on my taste in movies since my top-list contains a movie from each decade between the 1930s and 2010s, but the MCU remains a tragic humiliation considering their immense popularity. Your video could be a good crash course!
