I learned who Rick Macci is by watching the movie. Ever since, I cant get enough of this legend's wisdom. I watch every video he makes, they are always pure gold. Rick Macci makes the world a better place.
It was a really good movie. It moved me to tears. Excellent movie to bring your children to to illustrate growing up poor as a child doesn’t mean you are destined to remain poor as an adult. .
Seeing King Richard, learning more about Mr Rick, and seeing the real Mr Rick talk and react to the film makes me wish I had been coached by Mr Rick as a preteen when I was younger. Much Respect ✊🏾
I saw a recent interview of Macci where he was a little concerned before the movie came out that King Richard would be fair to him and present things as they actually happened because he had not been consulted in the making of it. I had seen the movie when I saw the interview and I knew that he was presented as a really great person who really loved this family. So, I'm glad to see that he was pleased by the movie. The interview is on TH-cam. I highly recommend it because he goes into a lot of detail about things that aren't in the movie and adds some depth to things that are.
You deserve a lot of credit Mr Ricky Macci because of your professionalism, your caring and gambling on them helped them to get where they are today they didn't do it without your help I respect you so much!
@@chrisjohn1284 The movie implied that Vic Braden didn’t want to train the Williams sisters because they were the wrong skin color or came from the wrong place. But the real reason Vic did not want to train the girls for free was because Richard was demanding a house and a job which Vic wasn’t willing to do.
@@edwardgrunder5628 It didn't seem that way to me. The exact quote that the character Vic in the movie says is "This deal that you’re asking for, all this for free, Richard, no one’s taking that bet." And the exact quote for the reason he gives is "well, that’s like asking someone to believe you got the next two Mozarts in your house. It’s just very, very unlikely. I’m sorry. That’s just my two cents. Maybe you’ll prove me wrong." He came off very reasonable to me, in stark contrast to the other coaches Richard approached who were being d**ks. Where is the racism that you seem to have seen being implied?
@@chrisjohn1284 I guess you missed the entire narrative of the film .. let me recap for you . Two young African American sisters find a way with help from their father to dominate a sport controlled by whites and wealthy elites.. wonder how successful of a coaching career Vic would have had if his standard for coaching was the kid must be Mozart..Vic by the way spent a life time distilling tennis down to fundament concepts that anyone could use to play and experience success..
@@edwardgrunder5628 Okay buddy. I think your comprehension skills are way too poor and your love for Vic blinds you to common sense and plain English so I'll quit replying.
@@travelingtheworldretired The real Richard wasnt soft or nice man like Will Smith Potrayed. This is an image rehabilitation of Richard. Will was fine but not great.
I hadn't heard of Rick Macci prior to the film. Great guy !

Awesome movie. Will Smith will be nominated for a Oscar.

he is so amazing! He watched the movie even if they never consulted him. And he watched it again and again. What a darling person he is. 😍

love this movie, very inspirational. will smith great actor. everyone in the movie was great.
They defamed Vic Braden .. man’s not even alive to defend him self.
Hardly... they showed him gently letting down Richard, in stark contrast to the other guys who were being a**holes

Its pronounced Máchi, like machio.
Funny no one talks about the gender switch that's all I wanted to see. .
Love how Richard always bring up white people beating him up, yet it was brothers trying to kill him over and over.
That was later when Richard lived in California. Richard grew up in the racist southern United States.
I heard Dave Chappelle was offered the role...
Yeah but it wont win a Oscar
Why do you say that? Give me one reason…
Yeah well it might.
