He did right by telling that social worker that, I teared up when them girls cried powerful scene
I couldn’t stop repeating this scene! The only reason why he pushes his daughters as hard as he did was cuz he knew they would achieve amazing things and someone having the gall to say the girls are being mistreated is outrageous to him.
The real Richard Williams once said that he was often criticized by other parents for how hard he pushed his girls and always said that the reason he kept them so busy and focused was so that they wouldn’t fall in with the more illicit and criminal elements of their neighborhood.
Maybe instead of walking out on his other kids and cheating on his other wives he should have pushed himself to not have them live in that neighborhood in the first place.

What Smith did is wrong no doubt, but Hollywood is so ridiculously forgiving it's not funny. I think Kevin Spacey has been booked up for a major role in a European production.

King Richard is probably one of the most inspiring movies I've ever watched. Mom and dad literally pulled their children out of the vicious cycle of poverty that tortures the black community to this day by sheer force of will!
