I think that's perfect tbh. They're finally getting back to good writing. It shows that even the seemingly strongest of characters can break with enough pressure. Makes the whole thing a lot more realistic.
It’s so spicy! I loved it! Like oh it’s like daggers, I’m definitely one of the people who has been waiting for this. Real interested to see where it goes
Honestly, as much as I knew this would be a natural progression, seeing Ruby and Jaune hurting like this still pains my heart with the end of each installment. Makes me anticipate each episode in the hope that things will actually get better for them.
Really love that they brought up how much of an important parallel Ruby and Jaune are, and how much their relationship throughout the series is an important element of the story. They've always been parallels and carried a special bond. So much of the early framework is coming back now, both of them being too unready yet desperate to be a part of this world, for what Oz and Salem's war had in store for them; Oz's advice about leadership in V1 being good advice in the short term but bad advice in the long run, advice that flowed from him to Ruby to Jaune; Jaune's pep talk to Ruby in V4 genuinely giving her strength, and now it's being directly referenced except he's tearing her down. It's heartbreaking for these kids, but genuinely so well put together and executed. I just hope the narrative conclusion is them making up and healing. It should be. They're literally echoing back to many of the failed leaders and heroic figures in the show's history who made too many mistakes & lost hope, as the youngest leaders being forced along the same path, the most poetic conclusion is them recognizing it and stopping before they become another tragedy.
Loss of her mother Fall of Beacon The First Death of Penny Death of Pyrrha Almost Death of Qrow Almost Death of Weiss Revelations of Jinn The flip of Ironwood Realization of what Salem has been doing to Silver Eyed Warriors The fall of Atlas The Second death of Penny These are just the things we saw Ruby deal with. No wonder that girl finally cracked.
@@blue-vr8dd she had. Early season, she talked about moms chocolate chip cookies. (And the nod to chocolate chip cookies in S1E1, and chibi with their cameo)
@@blue-vr8dd Who says she never met her mother? Yang said about losing Summer in V2 Ch6 "Ruby was torn up, but I think she was too young to get what was going on". So she CLEARLY knew her mother and was effected by her "Death". Besides, isn't that the whole point of Red Like Roses Pt 2?
@Jon Johns Ruby was a very small child. not old enough to have a lasting effect like it would Yang, considering Ruby has no memories of Summer whatsoever. "she was too young to know what was going on" a song is a song, it ain't canon. it's just lyrics
Jaune is my favorite character as you can probably tell from my pfp and I really just want him to be happy, I hope he can return to normal and move past this trauma and grow into the leader he deserves to be.
@@ravenfal1496 Hard to say if that's what they meant. The journey with Alyx might've only been a few weeks, and so when emphasizing how long he's been alone I don't think I'd break up that amount by a brief intermission.
I think from context when Kerry said "10, 20 years" he was just giving examples of long time frames for someone to be alone with trauma. I don't think he was saying Juane specifically was in the Ever After for 10 to 20 years.
Ruby break down was definitely needed shed been through so much and has just given up on hope altogether I really do feel for her normally she's the one that gives pep talks but right now she really needs one from her team
It’s touched upon in the video. But like Ruby and Jaune have been each other’s most steadfast and reliable confidants since Volume 1. Like other than Ren & Nora, Ruby and Jaune are the only other members of the main cast that have seldom been apart for any extended period of time. The longest portion of time they were separated, which coincidentally was also the longest time Ren & Nora have been a part was in V8. And that wasn’t even two days in-story time. But Ruby believed in Jaune and helped him when he was on the outs with his team, and Jaune was there for Ruby when nobody else was. And they’ve always been on the same page. Jaune gets Ruby in ways that only members of her family can claim to do, people she’s known her entire life. Ruby’s been vulnerable with Jaune in a way that basically only include: Yang, Qrow, Weiss and Jaune. To see one of the best written and strongest relationships in the whole show twisted like this, at both characters’ lowest points, when they need that support the most. It’s gut wrenching.
Please RWBY crew let Jaune return to normal age when they return home, he deserves to grow up with his friends and family to be heal and not be alone 🥺🥺🥺🥺
He also deserves to show his experience and pain, for others to look at him and realize that he has truly changed. While I’m sure he would appreciate the cartilage, being zapped into his “normal” state would leave him looking like a very young adult. And the truth is that unless you wipe away his experiences in the Ever After he is not a young man anymore.
As someone who's been on the giving end of a few "Shut. Up." moments, all I can say is that it hurts just as much to give them as it hurts to receive. I mean, it feels right in the moment, but not good.
Ruby's reached her boiling point, due to eerything that's happened up til now. I wonder how/if she'll ever recover and reconnect with her team & Jaune.
This was my response on the Crunchyroll app, so SPOILERS for anyone who has not seen the episode yet! Out of all the volumes of RWBY, this chapter was the most heartbreaking for me. We all knew that Ruby lashing out was coming after everything that happened in Atlas. Her PTSD is reminiscent of what happened to Yang after the fall of Beacon in vol. 4 But adding on Jaune's own trauma on top of it as well... Just shoutout to Miles & CRWBY for his portrayal this volume. Jaune has been dealing with the aftermath of Atlas in the Ever-After by his lonesome after he arrived and got messed with the time shenanigans there. His feelings of failure with making sure the citizens of Atlas & Mistrial escape into Vaccuo after Cinder & Neo's attack, his assistant suicide of Penny, some resentment of still not being able to help Pyrrha, along with the distrust of Aleks & maybe Lewis has caused him a fierce need to protect what little he has in this world. The years here have not been kinda to Jaune. Any kinda seclusion for that long without being able connect with his friends will make even the most stable person seem a bit unhinged, so him lashing out in the same way as Ruby and then immediately regretting it is what makes this heartbreaking.
I get that the most important part of this is the emotional trauma but I just wanna see Jaune absolutely demolish some of the stronger characters in a fight. He basically had nothing to do but train and fight for the last ~15 years so he should by all rights be the strongest of the two teams if not just straight up the entire good side (maiden Winter not included). It would be so gratifying to have him go from the weakest to the strongest...
Lindsey and Miles’ voice acting in this episode was absolutely phenomenal. I don’t think I’ve felt so uncomfortable watching something I physically recoiled XD
Please keep up this quality! This season has been the best yet out of RWBY and whatever it is that made this Volume so good, please do it for every Volume from here on out!
Jaune has more to lose than most in rwby the trauma he endured the loss of lover and And never seeing his friends and family. imagine jaunes nephew Adrian cotta arc asking his mom saphrone saying mom will uncle jaune ever comeback to visit us in sad face and tone with tears in his eyes. 😢 imagine its painful
The FNDM can't always agree on everything, but I think we can all agree that Lindsey's perfomance in this episode was phenomenal. I always look forward to their performances, but this one was probably my favorite of theirs. Miles performed great as well. That argument gave me chills. Well done to everyone that worked on that.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Team RWBY is following the story while Jaune and Neo BECOME apart of the story. Jaune becomes the Rusted Knight/White Rabbit and Neo becomes the Mad Hatter (I mean it hasn’t been 100% confirmed but come on the tea party, the hat, she’s probably going to be the Mad Hatter). Meanwhile RWBY is going through everything Alyx went through in the story.
The term I keep coming back to regarding the breakdown at the end is "perfect storm". The two characters that the team(s) have relied on the most to lead them into battle or come up with plans are not in a good headspace at the moment, making them unreliable at best. While it's true that Ruby is not good at opening up to others about her problems, she's historically never been in a position where opening up about her feelings, particularly to her team, was all that viable. She's suffered in some way like they have, but while they get to have the time to process their grief and sort out their personal problems/feelings, she's always been the one who has to keep up the fight against seemingly impossible odds. This dynamic where Ruby bottles up her grief while the rest of the team heals their wounds is exactly what has allowed them to get as far as they have, and while Weiss, Blake and Yang get to overcome their problems because of this, things have only gotten worse for Ruby's well-being in the long run. Even now in the Ever After, it's suggested that the team had a vague idea of Ruby not doing so well, but they seem to have underestimated how bad things are for her. They're accustomed to her being optimistic and bouncing back, but now they're unequipped to handle Ruby when she can't take it anymore. We've had multiple instances this volume where Ruby is clearly unwell to the viewer but her team is not very aware of this because they're focused on their personal issues/feelings. They DID try reaching out at times, but whether it's Ruby being dismissive or too caught up in her grief, or having to deal with whatever other crazy thing the Ever After is throwing at them, there's been no follow through in this for Ruby. Even in this chapter, when she tries to let it all out, Jaune ends up hijacking her moment and making it about how he feels. At this point, I'm not sure what is needed for Ruby to overcome this. It feels like an apology or a heart-to-heart with her team won't be enough. She's losing her way, and needs something BIG, something that really resonates with her core to remind her who she is and what she's about. Let's see what plans the Ever After has for her...
Jaune: *protects the helpless and suicidal. Gives important people/friends in his life a special place to carry him through the years of solitude in a foreign world.* Yang: I hate that you are trying to survive and think fondly of us.
Actually he colonized sentient beings fully capable of making their own decisions in their own world, and he did it for purely selfish reasons, to make himself feel like the hero.
I think Ruby just needs time to herself and figure herself out. Finding herself again. Also, Why is Little the only one who notices Ruby isnt okay? Same went with Oscar and Penny. But Penny isnt there, Oscar is in another Dimension...Little is her supporter that can possibly see through her and address her feelings just like Oscar did and Penny.
Little is basically the perfect well not person but you know what I mean to notice just how bad she is Yang suspects she’s off, she’s asked a few times, but I don’t think she’s ever seen her this bad to know it was at this level Yang thought she was dead and Blake thought Yang was dead, after almost losing eachother they’re not going to waste time, especially Blake Near death experiences with a loved one have that affect on people Weiss as goofy as she is probably has lost the most recently, this is the second time she’s lost a home Her sister is now the winter maiden which means she’ll always be in danger Ruby and Weiss have been distant, Yang and Ruby too Blake has been closer to Ruby but in the way of seeing her as an endless pool of optimism unintentionally putting pressure on her It’s a whole nuanced thing
Because Little doesn't also have a bunch of things on their plate, so they're probably having an easier time noticing these things, probably? In any case, that explosion was bound to happen, and nobody handled it well - which is kind of normal, given the circumstances
Little is the only one who notices for two reasons, I think. A. Little is not burdened/preoccupied by the current happenings and is thus not distracted by anything and can observe the situation and everyone in it freely. Secondly, everyone is used to Ruby "being okay." Even though Ruby is very often "not okay," she puts on a brave face, swallows it, and is the rock for everyone else. They are used to this and don't even fully grasp how bad it is internally. They've all assumed what it's like for her and have come to the unexamined assumption that she'll be fine and she'll handle it, but the truth is that she was never well enough that she'd be able to handle it this way forever, and that's how we got here.
Okay, Im not going to write my novel from reddit again, but no promises. Weiss has definitely noticed. She tried addressing it in chapter 2. Got shot down. And was not sure / guven enough time to prosses how to help her. Its literally only been a day or so. The animators have been really good at small details this volume too. Weiss is constantly looking to Ruby when something stressful or unsettling [ for Ruby ] happens. In her small form she can be seen leaning on Ruby when she starts to get worried. Shes [ literally the only one ] to look for Ruby in the Marketplace when the Jabberwalkers attacked. Shes the only one not to retaliate and only spoke up to stop Jaune [ not Ruby ] and the only one to reach out to Ruby before she runs away. Now between Jaunes mental breakdown.. in which Weiss is the only one who knows what he had to do... and Rubys mental breakdown .... which given the well animated and voiced context clues. .. girl knows whats up. Now shes in this absolutely dogshit position of trying to help both now ... plus ... herself. You know, dealing with the whole " having to warch all my friends ' die ' around me while 1 v 1ing a woman who already almost killed me before while also dealing with the fact I have no idea if my family is alive since I just [ COLONY DROPPED MY HOME FOR THE " greater good " ] " Its been [[ Noticed ]] its just very difficult to approach. Especially for those that should be addressing it. But hopefully that's why little is there. To HELP heal and to HELP them find some semblance of peace with themselves.
I think Jaune will return back to normal. I think the cat isn’t wrong about him being nutty. I think he became that way was because he went to the tree but lost a part of himself there, or potentially just like the others the tree tried to “rebirth” him and yet here he is. Something might have gone wrong because he isn’t an ever afteran. If they take him to the tree maybe there is potential for them to at the very least age his physical body back. Unless of course they get the OG Jaune back and the Rusted Knight stays in the Ever After. (If they both go back to Remnant, they could form team JJNR (junior))
they pretty much clued it that jaune will go back to normal. cause the paper people told rwby that the tree represents rebirth! so essentially the tree with “rebirth” jaune into his younger self
So far this volume has been pretty heartbreaking for me. We all knew Ruby was ready to explode at any time and i was waiting for it. The relationship between Ruby and her own partner has been pretty lacking for a while, it was beautifull from vol 1 to 6 then it just got lost i guess... I tell myself that this is because of Ruby slow descent into hell and Weiss losing her home, because of this, i hope Weiss reach out to her and keep her promise, being the best partner ever. I hope she is the one going in, i would be pretty sad if Ruby was just done after a team talk/hug (1 on 1 is much more impactfull for me that just a group talking to you for me, plus they are supposed to have a really strong bond, the strongest imo, and i know it's probably only me, but i do treasure their bond in the show). Yang and Blake had an amazing moment to confront their darkness, it was amazing, the idea of the bridge was very good . I hope their lack of communications is just a consequence of recent events that will lead to them finally getting back on track this volume and not just a change in direction/writing. As for Jaune, ever since he lost Pyrr, he's been in a spiral of guilt, i don't know if he will ever be "normal" again, he seems pretty lost for me (dudr has a stuff made in Pyrr, monster hunter like). I am 115% that you guys are not going to kill him off so i guess he will be alright one way or another but i don't know how, he seems so far in the pit for me. The next episode will probably follow the allegory of red riding hood so we are probably gonna see some team + jaune reaction then for the majority of the episode just Ruby herself, she will probably interact with the ever after by herself (maybe even give herself to the tree). It is exciting because there is many possibilities. I think they are going to leave the ever after free of their darkness, Ruby is probably not going to be the same as before, she is going to mature after this, becoming stronger (throw her in silent hill, it would be insane xD), Weiss is, i hope, the key to Ruby (that does not mean that Yang and Blake are meaningless to Ruby, i just consider partner to be really relevant in rwby and i think the bond between those two is really strong). Blake and Yang are pretty much okay and Jaune is lost i think, he WILL survive because a lot would be angry at the show if not, but i do think he should not survive all of this, his mind is destroyed, he was alone for so much time, a sacrifice Pyrr style would be INSANE and poetic. I do suspect that this chapter is here to finish of the characters, Ruby getting sane again, Yang and Blake together, Weiss, i don't really know, she has been to much of a joking/side character, she will mourn, but yeah, not much about Weiss except cracking jokes every episodes, hope something happens with Ruby tho. Anyway, love RWBY, love you guys, have a great day all of you. Cheers !
@@pumpkinwarrior7138 Because she has been so distant in a way, they feel deconnected, their bond was soooooo strong and now it feel very weak. If this is a master plan from the beginning to have a very impactfull moment between the two that would bring them back as a very steong duo in this volume, okay that would be INSANE, hat's off to the team. But that is what i fear, is this meant to be, is this in the plan or is this just what it is now, a shift in their bond where they know eachother but do not interact that much in a meaningfull way. Plus we have Nora and Ren with a strong bond, Yang and Blake, Pyrr and Jaune (even if it never blossomed it would be such a powerfull relationship now) and Weiss and Ruby now... it just feels weak even in comparison. From imo the steongest bond to the weakest right now. I still think it was crafted and planned but maybe i am delusional and it is just the way it is now
My thoughts exactly! I really hope that's how it plays out and Weiss will be the first one to reach out to Ruby, it would make the most sense right now imo
Yang definitely won't be the one to follow Ruby, even from her body language during the outburst you can tell, she was more concerned about protecting Blake from Ruby's anger than she seemed concerned about her sister. Blake won't go after her either (at least I don't think so), not by herself, and Jaune is, well... going through his own hell right now. So, as I see it, it's either all of them go after Ruby as a team or it's just Weiss and I would prefer the second option greatly. Firstly, to me at least, she seems as the most observant and caring one in general (or at least the one more willing to show it). Also taking into consideration the current state of everyone and their behaviour during the outburst Blake seemed scared or shocked more than anything, Yang angry and protective and Weiss was the one to try and stop/reach out to Jaune, she was also the one physically reaching out to Ruby at the end with her hand aaaand she tried to talk to her about Penny at the beginning of the volume and the two of them are more or less on the same page about what happend (they acknowledge their failure with Atlas and are being more realistic about the state of things compared to Blake and Yang) so she seems to be the most willig one to try to follow Ruby and maybe even the most capable one of understanding her right now, kinda. Secondly, it would be a great moment to sort of repair their bond. It seemed quite lacking to me ever since volumes 5-6 (although they did have a few moments later on, but no serious conversations or anything like that) especially in comparison with how it used to be in the earlier volumes. So, I get it, they kinda fell out during the time they spent separate, but that's exactly why right now would be an incredible opportunity to change that. I always liked their relationship and their characters seem to complement each other really well, so it would be a shame to see that being reduced to "yeah, they're friends and they all care about each other, we all know it, no need for further development or anything, moving ooon..."
I love how bad-ass the made Jaune as he goes around rescuing the villagers. But that ending, whew. Necessary, but here's hoping those two can recover soonest.
For the love of everything good and holy, don't let Jaune stay they way he is. Please change him back. Keeping him like this is just weird. It's not fair that everyone else gets to live their lives as young adults and experience the things they do and Jaune doesn't. I don't see why he's the one who has to suffer through something like this. Please have him change back so he can continue his adventure with RWBY and the others, the RIGHT way. Plus, this will be too weird for his family
This episode showed me what type of volume this is going to be after 6 volumes of depression Ruby finally at her breaking point reminds me of Steven Universe future
He probably is he the most experience ,skilled, stronger, and with a semblance that boost and amplies the abilities of the body he should have master it considered that it similar to delu one for all having better strength jumping and speed force
I have a pretty good idea on where this is all going but I'll keep it vague for now: If I was watching "It's A Wonderful Life", this chapter would be the equivalent of George Bailey taking out his years of frustrations on his family right before trying to jump off a bridge. If this was "The Lion King", this would be that one fight Simba has with Nala before he runs into Rafiki.
I wonder what Weiss, Blake and yang are going to do now? Can they fix this or is it already too late? Between jaune and ruby no one was wrong but no one was right either. Also I prey Jaune doesn’t revert back to his old self, his mind needs to heal and be synchronized with his aged physical body to be a better person spiritually in the end! He has a body of the future with a mind of the past.
This isn’t something Weiss, Blake, and yang can fix, and realistically speaking it’s not their place to other than say basically “we’re sorry we weren’t as supportive to you as we should have been.” It really comes down to Ruby to find this in herself or through a 3rd party, but primarily herself. Jaune I hope gets reversed back into a younger body when/if he leaves. The wisdom and maturity of an extra 10-20 years would be helpful in making decisions/leading an army.
The blow up scene was so good. The animation, the voice acting, the writing, the expressions all perfect. The characters all act in realistic ways, and they are valid, and everyone is both right and wrong. Can’t wait to see where this goes!
Not sure if anyone important is ever going to read this but im going to try anyway. Please, dont screw this up. Volume 9 is actually being really good, the last chapter was great, but im scared because the same thing happened with vol 7. Vol 7 had a great build up with Ironwood, the tone of the show was different, more mature, and was building an enemy that was not a villain, but just another hero, who was just as good as a person as the main cast, that was trying his best to save humanity, the difference being that he was willing to sacrifice people for it. vol 8 had everything to be the best volume of the series with a confrontation without a right side, but you guys just destroyed Ironwoods's character and made it so it would be easy to be against him and root for RWBY. Now, another bad part of the show that is actually being adressed in volume 9 is the consequences of their actions. Atlas fell because of them, the current scenario is that humanity is in a precarious spot because of what the main cast did on Atlas, it IS their fault. Ruby's last phrase in the last episode after Blake started the same positivity bullshit resonated within my heart "shut up, dont do that". They will need to move on and keep fighting, but first they have to recognize that, yes, it was their fault, people died because of them and they will have to carry that with them for the rest of their lives. You can't have the characters moving on from that if they never actually admit it that it was their fault. That was another huge mistake in vol 8 when yang just conforts Ruby and reassure her that it was not her fault, its tiring to see the main cast not admiting their responsability. And i really hope that this whole Ruby/Jaune snap is not going to get the same treatment as Ren's did in volume 8, ren was the only one willing to accept responsability for the main cast decision's, and he was treated as if he was trying to push people away from him, like it was his emotional problem and not that he actually had a point in what he said. Ruby is right, the world is doomed, it is their fault, and its too much to ask for someone her age, and also, its ridiculous that the other members of the team are still trying to act positive like nothing happened. Jaune is also right, it was always about ruby, she was the leader, the one calling the shoots, the one who decided to lie to ironwood, the one who decided to give the lamp to oscar, the one who made the plan, she doesnt have the right to act like she was forced in the role of leader when she never refused it, its one thing to decide that she cant carry that many responsability by herself anymore, its another to blame the others for her decisions arguing that she should never be in the position to make them in the first place. A lot of good points were made in the last chapter of volume 9 and i would love to see the characters and the story being mature about it, RWBY has potential to be great, so i plead that this time, you guys dont screw it up.
Wait so, how old is the Girl Who Fell Through the World story? Because if Jaune’s only been there for 10-20 years…then how could everyone have read it as kids if the story is YOUNGER than them?
You know with story with other world is really easy the flow of time can be different so maybe jaune was during 20 year in ever after but its was 100 year in their world. Btw they says exactly the number of time jaune wait in ever after ?
Jaune's age is only the result of how far back the time fruit sent him. The problem is how does 10 to 20 years alone post Alyx and Lewis in EA make sense with the 50+ years need (150 years in my opinion) need to age a story into a fairy tale for kids and not some documented historical event. The exact numbers may not be correct but I do think Team RWBY + J need to find out the at least 5x time has pasted back home since the fall of Atlas.
Question about Jaune’s list/routine: his list describes some of those calamities like he has seen them play out before. If they did, shouldn’t the village be short a few paper pleasers? PS: I want another volume of RWBY Fairy Tales dedicated to the adventures of The Rusted Knight. Please?
Followup: this question kind of answers itself if Jaune’s life followed the Groundhog Day formula they discussed as an early idea, but from what I can tell they settled on the day being repetitive rather than literally repeating.
Can you guys made Jaune have a amazing fighting scene like team RWBY with his own music theme😑 like seriously even some character beside main 4 have good fighting skill so why Jaune didn't
The way I see Ruby this last volume so far has very much been a young lady with everything placed on the shoulders and the weight of all that finally crushing her. I relate very heavily with her in this season. With anxiety, depression, and the final breaking point. I pushed everyone away in that point of my life and relate a lot with her. I couldn't stop seeing a lot of my past in her over the last few episodes. And genuinely the hardest part is wishing everyone would stop being so self absorbed to notice her falling apart. I wish someone had noticed my struggle before I exploded. And every week these last couple months I've just wanted to reach out to Ruby and be her rock when she needed it most. I hope she can recover. It took me a long time to come to grips with that in my life.
okay I am SUPER suspicious of the whole time thing. How can Jaune only be 10 or 20 years old and yet he’s the character in a beloved fairytale? Would they really change a character so radically just for the sake of being “different”? The fact that he ends up being the hero of his favorite fairytale seems very suspicious. Idk if he’s been to the tree or what, but there’s gotta be more going on.
@@TheLeXboxidea right. That does NOT seem like enough time to me. If Ruby and friends all knew the story, that means the book was essentially brand new, which isn’t typically what you think with “fairy tale.” It should really be older than that. BUT at the same time, I think Jaune’s version of events was true. So maybe he was given the old Rusted Knight’s memories? Idk, i know it’s a stretch, but I just don’t think this is the same Jaune we’ll have at the end of the volume.
@@PianoMyHearthe simplest answer is that the ever after is on it's own separate timeline compared to remnant and as a result it doesn't matter when you go there, or how long you stay, if you return to remnant, you return at same time you originally fell. So the story could be hundreds of years old in remnants time, and twenty years from Jaunes perspective because the point in time she returned to was the same day she left way before he was ever born. You're basically time travelling backwards kinda like jaune did in a way.
I feel like when they get back, jaune is gonna be the first to truly apologize to oz since he finally experienced a snippet of what he has truly experienced.
You made a good point, that’s a good point. If Jaune ends up living to the point of basically 2 lifetimes, one in that world, and regains his youth when he comes out, he steps out not only with a greater maturity, wisdom, and knowledge beyond his years, he also is a bridge between oz and everyone else. I’m not sure they are going to go that route though. But that sure would be interesting.
@@stevelucky7579 I appreciate you actually seeing and replying to my comment! I feel like everyone made oz out to be evil when he was revealed to by lying to everyone, but I always pitied him and his curse. It’s like cursing Sisyphus that he is a fool who keeps rolling a boulder up a hill when that is the best he can do. And when I mean relating to him, it’s more than the lifetimes lived, but also the futility they feel in their actions no matter how hard the try. Just like jaune seeing the paper city get flooded because of one mistake. And when I think of that, I can only imagine the amplified pressure and responsibility Oz has had for however long he has lived; carefully building up safeguards against Salem only for kids who just found out the truth to not see the full picture and see him like they saw jaune at the village; unhinged, not all together.
You know what really grind my gears? People saying that Yang isn't caring about Ruby at this moment. Dudes, she asked if she was ok when she didn't pick up Crescent Rose. She still cares about Ruby even if she was protecting Blake from her at the time. She was probably gonna talk some sense into her if Jaune hadn't kept his mouth shut. I mean, people need to make theorise before they make dumbass points like that.
She asked if she was ok, when it was super obvious that Ruby wasn't ok, then proceeded to forget about her not even 30 seconds later when Jaune freaked out over the paper pleasers. That's why people are criticizing her and rightfully so; Jaune had Blake and Weiss run over to him. Yang could've continued to check up on her sister. That moment showed Ruby that even in the middle of displaying major red flags of trauma (something Yang has gone through) and almost dying because of it, she still comes in second to literally everything else. There were three of them, they could've split up to check up on the two people who needed help.
Never underestimate the power of bad writing. They could, but it would be more rewarding if they didn’t and she had to mature and grow naturally like every other leader rather than going super sayajin.
Bold words. This isn't something that can just be blown over. At this rate though, Ruby may not want to be a Huntress anymore. She just can't take such pain anymore. She's on the brink of giving up. Or worse.
What’s hurts the most is that it’s Ruby and Jaune. They were the rocks, and they’ve crumbled.
At the time when everyone else has actually reached a more stable footing in their lives.
I think that's perfect tbh. They're finally getting back to good writing. It shows that even the seemingly strongest of characters can break with enough pressure. Makes the whole thing a lot more realistic.
Yeah, just yeah
Yeah they were both the most optimistic out all of them and to see what the war with salem has reduced them to its sad
"Jaune and Ruby have always been kind of two sides of the same coin."
😢 Makes the argument so much sadder.
It’s very true, and I like that they show they are dealing with their issues in different ways.
“This is the start of Ruby’s breakdown”
IT GETS WORSE😭
That scene from the V9 intro where she looks crazy is coming!!!
But wait. There's more!
Oh god. My heart can't take it! 😢
You’re telling me there’s MORE?!?! 😟
This is the START?
Oooh boy…
Lindsay's performance for Ruby's breakdown was amazing. Hard to listen to, but amazing.
And Miles’ performance for Jaune’s subsequent breakdown.
Loss of her mother
Fall of Beacon
The First Death of Penny
Death of Pyrrha
Almost Death of Qrow
Almost Death of Weiss
Revelations of Jinn
The flip of Ironwood
Realization of what Salem has been doing to Silver Eyed Warriors
The fall of Atlas
The Second death of Penny
These are just the things we saw Ruby deal with. No wonder that girl finally cracked.
she never met her mother so idk why that would affect her so much
Well that was just one for #9; there's no telling if Salem made more or credibility of Summer Rose being amongst those creatures.
"she was too young to know what was going on"
a song is a song, it ain't canon. it's just lyrics
Jaune is my favorite character as you can probably tell from my pfp and I really just want him to be happy, I hope he can return to normal and move past this trauma and grow into the leader he deserves to be.
So this confirms Jaune is, at oldest, 39. Stress has probably given him the white in his hair.
Probably true but some guys starts to grey in their late twenties
He said “alone for 10-20 years”, meaning 10-20 years since Alyx left. You have to throw another 5-10 years on top of that for before Alyx showed up.
Please RWBY crew let Jaune return to normal age when they return home, he deserves to grow up with his friends and family to be heal and not be alone 🥺🥺🥺🥺
hope they dont kill him off
I don't know .. Now that Weiss is "interested" .. Maybe he'd prefer to stay "mature" .. 😆
@@gamerbeast3616 don't jinx it
Fire.....fire everywhere.😓
Jesus. 10 to 20 years in the Ever After, without anyone you love, not knowing if they're okay...
Lyndsey and Miles did an amazing job this episode probably my new fav rwby episode of all time
As someone who's been on the giving end of a few "Shut. Up." moments, all I can say is that it hurts just as much to give them as it hurts to receive. I mean, it feels right in the moment, but not good.
Oh goodness yes.
Ruby's reached her boiling point, due to eerything that's happened up til now. I wonder how/if she'll ever recover and reconnect with her team & Jaune.
"I feel bad for him"
You're the one writing his story!!!!
As a writer myself, writing a sad backstory for your character makes you sad, but you have to do it.
But adding on Jaune's own trauma on top of it as well...
Can someone just give Jaune a hug already? And maybe a lot of therapy
Pretty sure the Ever After itself is gonna be therapy for them
I get that the most important part of this is the emotional trauma but I just wanna see Jaune absolutely demolish some of the stronger characters in a fight. He basically had nothing to do but train and fight for the last ~15 years so he should by all rights be the strongest of the two teams if not just straight up the entire good side (maiden Winter not included).
It would be so gratifying to have him go from the weakest to the strongest...
Let the RvJ and JvWBY commence!😂
Lindsey and Miles’ voice acting in this episode was absolutely phenomenal. I don’t think I’ve felt so uncomfortable watching something I physically recoiled XD
Please keep up this quality! This season has been the best yet out of RWBY and whatever it is that made this Volume so good, please do it for every Volume from here on out!
Jaune has more to lose than most in rwby the trauma he endured the loss of lover and
And never seeing his friends and family. imagine jaunes nephew Adrian cotta arc asking his mom saphrone saying mom will uncle jaune ever comeback to visit us in sad face and tone with tears in his eyes.
😢 imagine its painful
Even worse, they probably think that he's dead.
Chud Ruby is an amazing meme. Definitely my favorite RWBY meme since v5.
God, I hope Jaune doesn't die he's my favorite character
Based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Team RWBY is following the story while Jaune and Neo BECOME apart of the story. Jaune becomes the Rusted Knight/White Rabbit and Neo becomes the Mad Hatter (I mean it hasn’t been 100% confirmed but come on the tea party, the hat, she’s probably going to be the Mad Hatter).
Meanwhile RWBY is going through everything Alyx went through in the story.
When did Neo go back in time like Jaune?
Speaking of Mad, I have a bad feeling that SOMEONE is gonna snap and go completely insane.
I kinda hate how this got turned into a who’s right and wrong, when the point was about showing two hurt people lash out
Jaune’s time in the Ever After. Wow, this talk was having lots of *TIME.*
It’s about *TIME* if you asked me. 😅
what?
where is the funny here?
because he went back in time? that's what they meant. there's no clever pun or quip you just came up with.
Jaune: *protects the helpless and suicidal. Gives important people/friends in his life a special place to carry him through the years of solitude in a foreign world.*
Yang: I hate that you are trying to survive and think fondly of us.
The problem is she never lets her teammates help her.
Little is basically the perfect well not person but you know what I mean to notice just how bad she is
Yang suspects she’s off, she’s asked a few times, but I don’t think she’s ever seen her this bad to know it was at this level
Yang thought she was dead and Blake thought Yang was dead, after almost losing eachother they’re not going to waste time, especially Blake
Near death experiences with a loved one have that affect on people
Weiss as goofy as she is probably has lost the most recently, this is the second time she’s lost a home
Her sister is now the winter maiden which means she’ll always be in danger
Ruby and Weiss have been distant, Yang and Ruby too
Blake has been closer to Ruby but in the way of seeing her as an endless pool of optimism unintentionally putting pressure on her
It’s a whole nuanced thing
Now shes in this absolutely dogshit position of trying to help both now ... plus ... herself.
You know, dealing with the whole " having to warch all my friends ' die ' around me while 1 v 1ing a woman who already almost killed me before while also dealing with the fact I have no idea if my family is alive since I just [ COLONY DROPPED MY HOME FOR THE " greater good " ] "
Its been [[ Noticed ]] its just very difficult to approach. Especially for those that should be addressing it. But hopefully that's why little is there. To HELP heal and to HELP them find some semblance of peace with themselves.
Mmmm spectacular performance with Ruby's breakdown Lindsay! Great writing Kerry and Eddy!
Cheers !
Weiss has been so weird when it comes to Ruby, she’s the one who sparked Ruby’s outburst as well
@@pumpkinwarrior7138 Because she has been so distant in a way, they feel deconnected, their bond was soooooo strong and now it feel very weak.
@@anthebelle It seems we are on the exact same page !
We can only hope it happens.
Have a great day btw
Heartbreaking season, I love it. It hurt watching ruby breaking down and lashing out oof
This episode showed me what type of volume this is going to be after 6 volumes of depression Ruby finally at her breaking point reminds me of Steven Universe future
FINALLY SOMEONE CONNECTS THE TWO

Whoa! Did I read that right? What the hell is the Shredder doing in the Ever After?!
Not THAT Shredder!
After all those years in the Ever After, I hope you made Jaun a greater warrior. He should be stronger than every member of the team RWBY now
He probably is he the most experience ,skilled, stronger, and with a semblance that boost and amplies the abilities of the body he should have master it considered that it similar to delu one for all having better strength jumping and speed force
This season has been so good, you guys are killin it
"hurt people hurt people"
so happy to see ruby call out the bumblebee bullshit
Call me a sadist, but Ruby’s depression arc? “Feels like I’ve been waiting forever for that.”
I’ve been waiting for this
It truly was an interesting Episode, i wonder how this will go.
I appreciate your conversations.
jaune is now just qrow sober
I have a pretty good idea on where this is all going but I'll keep it vague for now:
If I was watching "It's A Wonderful Life", this chapter would be the equivalent of George Bailey taking out his years of frustrations on his family right before trying to jump off a bridge.
This isn’t something Weiss, Blake, and yang can fix, and realistically speaking it’s not their place to other than say basically “we’re sorry we weren’t as supportive to you as we should have been.”
It really comes down to Ruby to find this in herself or through a 3rd party, but primarily herself.
Jaune I hope gets reversed back into a younger body when/if he leaves. The wisdom and maturity of an extra 10-20 years would be helpful in making decisions/leading an army.
So, basically, the mission to evacuate Atlas and Mantle succeeded, but morally, it actually failed. Is that what I'm getting here?
was refreshing my sub page for this vid
It'd be funny if Jaune revert back to his younger self like Marco did from Star vs The Forces of Evil.
10 / 20 years it is. Got it.
Wish Miles was here...
I just want to give Ruby a hug, as soon as she said "Why did I have to be the leader?" I'm like yep this is it.
It hurts to see her so broken
"Ruby breakdown when" :D
Wait so, how old is the Girl Who Fell Through the World story? Because if Jaune’s only been there for 10-20 years…then how could everyone have read it as kids if the story is YOUNGER than them?
You know with story with other world is really easy the flow of time can be different so maybe jaune was during 20 year in ever after but its was 100 year in their world.
Btw they says exactly the number of time jaune wait in ever after ?
Never said it had to be something their parents read as kids. Heck, the first Harry Potter came out when I was 8 or 9 and I still read it as a kid.
@@Gyrono Weiss refers to it as an "old story" in Chapter 2.
@@babavoi2256 Kerry said that Jaune’s been alone for 10-20 years in this video
Jaune's age is only the result of how far back the time fruit sent him. The problem is how does 10 to 20 years alone post Alyx and Lewis in EA make sense with the 50+ years need (150 years in my opinion) need to age a story into a fairy tale for kids and not some documented historical event.
The exact numbers may not be correct but I do think Team RWBY + J need to find out the at least 5x time has pasted back home since the fall of Atlas.
Man... CRWBY is just killing Jaune. Poor vomit boy
That's Vomit MAN to you.

Poor jaune
yo damn those stars are T H I C C
What do you mean "it's the start"? That was just the start?
breakdown breakdown
Let Ruby swear!!!
Well in their defense, Weiss and Blake have not said any swears either.
I think the implication is that he's been in the everafter for 10-20 years since falling before meeting with RWBY
@@PianoMyHeart I think the answer really is time is wacky in the ever after
@@PianoMyHearthe simplest answer is that the ever after is on it's own separate timeline compared to remnant and as a result it doesn't matter when you go there, or how long you stay, if you return to remnant, you return at same time you originally fell.
So the story could be hundreds of years old in remnants time, and twenty years from Jaunes perspective because the point in time she returned to was the same day she left way before he was ever born.
You're basically time travelling backwards kinda like jaune did in a way.
@@NRG-REC But then that would mean that Jaune and Team RWBY are about to go back to Remnant and find everyone’s been killed by Salem already.
I hope Ruby and her team gets new powers like Ruby becoming Raiden Ripper mode(Metal gear rising)
Ruby turning to the dark side
Do you know how many volumes you guys are going to make?
Or is 9 the end?
I hope Rt answers how long jaune spent alone
It is magnificent the drama and the gore incredible
No matter how well it seems someone knows you, NObody is a mind reader. If you're hurting then share. Otherwise it's going to boil over.
We’re red vs blue
STOP. THE. GOOSE.
i wonder when they will find ruby again
I hope the new Ruby is here to stay, they wouldn't try to reincarnate her in the tree, would they?
Never underestimate the power of bad writing. They could, but it would be more rewarding if they didn’t and she had to mature and grow naturally like every other leader rather than going super sayajin.
RWBY Volume 10 release 2024, and or also 2025 Hopefully from Rooster Teeth Studios and also Crunchyroll Anime!
Man, they didn't even touch on how great Miles was in this episode.
Wait wait! how would the water kill the paper pleasers that quickly
They're made of rice paper maybe?
Awesome Jaune’s Time in the Ever After Video.
Make a new season of Rivers blue where they make a new AI and then when they make the AI it ends with a cliffhanger
Are you going to put looney tunes characters in v9 like bugs as the white rabbit
Wait, has jaune only been in the ever after 10 or 20 years!?
Just to ask should I watch this series?
Heyoo, completely unrelated to this video, but just want you to know at least one of your Rvb playlists are out of order

I really hope Ruby's depression and trauma isn't resolved in these last few episodes.
Bold words. This isn't something that can just be blown over. At this rate though, Ruby may not want to be a Huntress anymore. She just can't take such pain anymore. She's on the brink of giving up. Or worse.
start to recover but not resolved it will more of fragile fix.
Iiiinteresting!
Ruby really needed to let it all out, I’m glad she did
I hope there are more darker skinned characters in vacuo who are good guys would love to see that and them interact with team rwby and jnr
CRWBY should really stop making too much tragedy for our heroes already.
yeah its getting pretty stale in my opinion.
