I'm not pregnant and don't plan on having kids for a while but I also LIVE in those flowy short-sleeve dresses in summer! Old Navy always has them for super cheap and they're such an easy way to feel covered but comfortable and not too hot in the summer.

Super helpful tips! I’m starting to get to the stage where my normal baggier attire isn’t cutting it anymore so when buying, knowing I can get things I can still wear later post pregnancy is awesome, just by trying a few more styles!
I would loop a hair tie through the button hole of my pants and shorts and then hook both ends on the button and just made sure to wear a long shirt... My husband thought it was funny and then when he turned 30 and started gaining a little extra weight he started doing the same thing to his favorite pair of pants until he lost the weight lol
Currently pregnant with my third, and I just bought regular clothes one size bigger and that helps a ton! I also love dresses since it’s getting warmer now.

I am currently 35 weeks pregnant. I used to be a lot heavier than I am now (yes even pregnant) I kept a lot of my clothes just in case including my winter coat. I have purchased 3 "maternity" dresses which also will work for nursing. They were on sale at Kohl's for like $15 each. I would never pay the sticker price on them.

I'm so glad I came across this video. I'm pregnant with my 5th and for the first time ever I'm going to be pregnant during hot weather the entire pregnancy. I live in Florida and I am due end of October. Most of my maternity clothes are meant for the cold or cooler weather. With this almost certainly being our last I hated the idea of going out and spending money on maternity clothes that I will likely never wear again. So many great tips

I am on baby #3... these are all great ideas! I live in a long tank with an open cardigan or kimono over it with maternity jeans and leggings. I feel like pants are the only real place to put money for maternity clothes bc they are so stinking comfortable 😆
I had my son in August and lived in cotton tanks from Target! I bought a 4-pack of nursing bras from Amazon for $20. Them I would just bring down a shoulder of the tank at a time, unsnap the bra, nurse, and then switch sides. I could wear the tanks under sweaters in the winter too so it got me through 14 months of nursing, through all 4 seasons in Michigan. The tanks are $5 at Target so I only spent $30 on 6 different colors and didn't feel bad about stretching them a little. $50 total for a full nursing wardrobe!
I found it to be a hassle for maternal clothes far as finding decent ones that werent tight and uncomfortable and like you said that also charge a lot more for simple looking clothes just labeled maternity. So I shopped plus sizes while I was prego and getting bigger for way less $$ and it was fun and easier to shop that way.
I actually think the best tip is to buy maternity clothes at garage sales/thrift stores. Because the fact of the matter is, if you don't already wear clothes like the styles mentioned that transition well to a pregnant body, you would be buying new clothes regardless. I was able to wear my normal clothes until about 20-22 weeks(37 weeks now) and then I needed maternity options. So I spent the summer shopping garage sales, I went to goodwill several weekends in a row, and I bought a lot off of friends who were done being pregnant and wanted to get rid of their maternity wardrobe. Plus, I shopped sale racks at Target, Kohls, and even Motherhood online. Much of my maternity wardrobe is Motherhood brand purchased at a fraction of the cost.
I wish the skirt over the belly trick worked for me (looks adorable on Jordan), but I'm very short and my belly gets HUGE from 6m on...Jordans bump in this video is like my 6m bump! I have had 4 kids so far and I've figured out that i need to wear fitted stuff (with a long cardi or vest), not cute flowy pregnancy dresses. I look like a tent in big things, esp after the 6m mark

my go-tos for pregnancy are baby-bee bands(these are the exclusive to the jeans situation... even though you cannot button. They hold up your jeans for you and they are very expandable they're 14$ at Target and come in black, white, nude colors-- they also take out my next to favors: Camis and tanks) and than camisoles...
I lived in yoga pants and extra large workout T-shirt that had slits in the sides and are long until it got cold out. Now I just traded the yoga pants for maternity pants I picked up cheap at Burlington coat factory. I’m due middle of March so I know I can use the yoga pants again after baby’s born and it starts to warm up. I definitely wasn’t about to spend money on maternity specific items. I’m definitely way to cheap for dropping money on something I’m only going to wear a short time. This is my first kid and I don’t plan on having anymore after so it would really be a waste of money for me.
I just bought those two Target maternity dresses (the navy and pink striped dress and gray dress with ruffle sleeves) a couple weeks ago on clearance for less than $10 each! Not pregnant, never been pregnant, and no plans to become pregnant any time soon! So comfy and cute anyways!!

I didn't want to buy maternity clothes but I had to because my belly got so big but I still had a skinny frame. The maternity tops had enough space in the belly to curve around my belly instead of just hanging off and allowing air flow under the belly. I got 2 jeans, 3 sweatpants, 6 tops, and then used cardigans and scarves to add to it all.

Now that we have the maternity vid, I need to know how you dress for nursing on a budget without looking frumpy. I usually wear tops I can pull up and that I don't have to layer with (because I get soooo hot when I'm nursing - especially in the summer), but that leaves me with....not many cute options. I know you typically have a layering tee when you're not nursing, but do you wear one when you are? Aren't they hard to nurse in?
How come you can wear the same wardrobe belly and no belly, when I can't wear nothing from one size to another when I lose or gain weight? XD be it Medium or Small I can't make both of them work when my weight fluctuates T.T

I did that because maternity jeans liked to fall... I then got a Bella band to go over the button part.
The worst thing about gaining and losing weight a lot is either having a lot of clothes or having to get new clothes

How about nursing clothes?? Live in Hawaii so pretty much only wear dresses when prego but then when the babies come the struggle is real!!!!
Stretchy dresses! They easily go over your boobs from the top. I'm an E cup breastfeeding and I loved stretchy dresses. Jersey shirts etc.
Cut off shirts with high waisted breezy skirts. I've found this the best in humid 40°C weather.
Bike shorts.
Extra stretchy fabric has been a life saver this month for me
I have only bought a few breastfeeding bras as wearing them now with 15 weeks to go
