We just did that in the new Bison! We’ll also have another long adventure video with the Bison coming soon: TESTED! 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison Thrashed in the Desert th-cam.com/video/OlSodJeq54o/w-d-xo.html
Thanks guys, great adventure and I could feel some pucker factor with those hills! Nicely done. Love my Bison; great platform and AEV makes it even better.
Glad the pucker translated to video. Honestly some of these drops, you couldn't see anything but sky until you were on your way down. Real leap of faith, lol
Looks like a fun trip. Chris sorry you dented your cab. It baffles me why GM put the crumple zone where they did. At least they put it above the axle in the 3rd gen trucks.
@@PNW_Bison I am super interested in the fix you employ. Also curious about what happens if you stiffen one part and it’s impact on the rest of the frame.
I've had one minor cab strike (Small ding) on the passenger side cab when i hit some sand in an open flat area that had a significant washboard effect at the end. It shook the truck enough to open the gas cap cover, and fairly efficiently rearrange everything that was somewhat secure in the cab. Speeds were 30-35 mph. I had the frame checked for good measure and it was fine. I Had no added weight in the bed other than the spare tire, as well as 2 additional passengers in the cab. Was out a little Sahara off-road park in Oklahoma.
Would love more POV footage and would really like to know what driving modes you were using when. 4WD hi / low, rear locker / both locked, I’m guessing off-road engaged most of the time to keep the rpm up?
Man, that looks like a really fun couple of days of playing in the sand. Makes me wonder if all these new front facing "trail cams" should have the camera mounted on the roof line instead of the front bumper to really get that bird's eye view.
Love to see some more footage. Was there anyone there with a Diesel? Curious how a diesel would do going up the dunes with a lower rpm motor etc Looks like a lot of fun. I spent many a day at the dunes in Oklahoma, Little Sahara state park, when I was a kid on Honda fourtrax 250R’s
@@JasonExplainsThings Thanks. I recently sold my 2020 TRD Pro Tacoma and switched to a 2021 Colorado ZR2 Diesel. Mainly for the fuel mileage for work. First 3 months of ownership my business MPG average was 29MPG
More footage the better, especially the drone shots! Chris' truck looked awesome rippin' it up on the dunes!!!
Thanks Brad! Alot of fun was had, for sure.
I have dimples on my cab as well. I think of them as reminders of fun times in the truck 😂
Great video! How about some rock climbing with the bison on 35’s. Well done guys. Lee

TESTED! 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison Thrashed in the Desert
th-cam.com/video/OlSodJeq54o/w-d-xo.html
We used to put tennis balls between the upper part of the bed and the cab to protect against “dimples” - just a thought.
MORE FOOTAGE PLEASE!
Thanks! Just posted the extended video today!
That looked like so much fun. Thank you for the video
Incredible video, Jason. Beautiful editing and such a nice story. You guys work so well on camera together
I'm glad you guys made another video with the Colorado Bison on 35s. I enjoyed watching your videos. Did all the Zr2s have 35 inch tires?
All the ones in attendance did, yes.
I wanna see more of you and Chris together and you rippin your tacoma Jason! Cmon man! Lol great video! Glad y’all had fun
You’ll get lots of that this spring and summer! 🤩
Great video! Looked like an awesome time! Chris's truck is looking real good too
Thanks! Yeah it's a beast.
Wow you guys, that was a great video! Great to meet you both and hope to see you again soon!
Thanks Dean, great to meet you too! Cheers
POV footage would be amazing! I'd watch all of the hours.
Nice! POV video is up now.
You Guy's are a hoot!
"Feeling, Feelings!"
Couldn't say it any better Jason.
Jason was emotionally lost in this experience. 😂
Do another video on this. Also any videos on Jason’s vehicles and Chris’s Bison is always awesome
I would like tosee the 2023 colorado zr2 test drive off road through trails and tough terrain that is not the dessert.
There’s a bunch on the channel.
Thanks guys, great adventure and I could feel some pucker factor with those hills! Nicely done. Love my Bison; great platform and AEV makes it even better.

Great video guys! It was alot of fun meeting you in person.
Thanks Joe! It was so fun going on an adventure with you guys.
There is nothing like driving on sand. It’s so fun, especially along the ocean. Great stuff.
Looks like a fun trip. Chris sorry you dented your cab. It baffles me why GM put the crumple zone where they did. At least they put it above the axle in the 3rd gen trucks.
Well we'll just have to take care of it!
Awesome! Have more video footage going through the sand dunes🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I got to take my Colorado ZR2 through this course👍🏼
Huge shout out to AEV for supporting the off-road scene. My dream truck as a 12 year old became the ZR2 Bison.
Luvin every mile.
This is so true. This truck is my Marty McFly truck.
Love the video! Looks like an awesome time! Would love to do something like this with my ZR2!
That was a great video! Definitely more of this please.
That place looks like a rad adventure! Gotta love the Oregon coast! ✌️
I would LOVE TO see more footage.
Chris - any idea when the box kissed the cab? Nosing over for a sharp dropoff? High speed ruts?
My guess is the high speed ruts, but honestly not sure.

Fantastic video, exhilarating to watch, great memories… and just the right amount of cheese!
New Channel subtitle. "With just the right amount of cheese." 😂 Thanks!
More footage please!
You got it. I’m new to this “pov” style of video. I’ll do my own spin on it.
This looks like an absolute blast. I cant wait to get my 4runner built up a little more so i can do runs like this!!!
Yes, me too! I'm curious how my Tacoma or 4Runner would do with 32" KO2s.
I wish I still had my 2019 Chevy Colorado. Great video I do wanna see more indeed!
Thanks, appreciate it!
Amazing video! Congrats to you guys for keeping the great content coming and fun vibes with these adventures.
Appreciate it, and thanks for watching!

Awesome. From what I remember we were in 4 High, off-road mode, traction control off, no lockers… for almost all of both days.
Jason nailed it.
Awesome video Jason and Chris! It looked like a great time. Jason sounded stressed on more than one occasion.🤣
Thanks for watching!
@@PNW_Bison did you get your complete truck PPF it always looks amazing.
@@waynemurrah4892 hahaha nope, just washed it every night on this trip. Good idea when you're this close to salt water!
Great video guys
Long video needed!
It kept up with them great. Only noticeable negative is the ZR2’s approach angle. That’s why the bumper was full of sand! 🤣
That's really cool! I suppose, the best thing is you will get to do it all over again with you
Tacoma once all the mods are done.
Great Work!
How did it do compared to the Jeep’s ?
It did great. Only negative compared to the Jeeps was the approach angle. That's why the bumper was full of sand! 🙂

Not a bad idea!
I definitely think trail cams would've take some of the stress away... Which also would've taken some of the fun away, IMO.
@@PNW_Bison That's an incredibly fair way of looking at it.😄
Does Chris have PPF on his complete truck it always looks amazing, i love your videos.
Were any of the Colorados a diesel? How’d they do?
Hey Craig. Yes, the white Bison was a diesel and did great.
Chris, any thoughts of getting a baffled oil pan with those steep angles? Or maybe a dry sump if possible? I'd be worried of oil starvation.
Don't see that one in my future. While fun, trips like this will be few and far between. Mostly mountain trails and backwoods camping for me.
Nice love it. Wish taco was there
Me too!!!!
Love to see some more footage.

I believe so yes... If I remember correctly I think the white Colorado Bison was a diesel. He had no issues keeping up at all.

Cool. That's amazing. I've gotten 25 in my Tacoma... hyper-miling down hill. LOL :-)
So, some pretty cheesy stuff in this vid. Perfect. lol Great vid.
❤footage❤
Ask and you’ll receive! I’ll try to get it out ASAP.
👏👏👍👍
(1,000 miles later)
Suspension falls off from Chevy manufacturing
Damn i would have loved to go with you guys doing this. Chris and me could put the 4 Runner to shame 🤣😜
I think the 4Runner would've done a ton better with different tires.
Video turned out great. Makes me wish we were back there and doing it all over again @ronin.jt 🤙🏽
