Equitable = meeting people where they are. Eg we’re going on a bike ride but we’re different heights. When I give you (the shorter one) the shorter bike so your experience is enjoyable and I (the tall one) take the tall bike, I’m being equitable. It differs from equality bc in an equal situation, we would get exactly the same bikes. But that’s not what you need.

If you give the 2 guys chairs to stand on that are 25cm tall, even though the chairs are equally tall, person 2 can't see over the wall. The equitable thing to do is to give person 2 a chair that's at least 40cm tall so that they too can see over the wall.

From someone who's been to therapy....Jealousy is not a toxic trait. It's just a feeling like sadness or happiness, it's how you act on the feeling that makes it toxic or not toxic. For e.g trying to control your partner, demanding that your partner stops having friends of the opposite sex. A not toxic way...journalling or talking about it. When I feel jealous, I ask myself why am I feeling less than in this moment? Is the feeling trying to show me that I am not as confident in myself as I thought I was? Was a past wound perhaps triggered and I felt not good enough in that moment? At times, I don't analyze the feeling, I just feel it and it goes away. My response applies to when your partner has not done anything to make you feel jealous, but if your partner has several times, I would approach the conversation differently.

Hey guys....here to explain equitable😅.....so imagine Kuna a football game then there are outsiders who want to watch it but can't because there's a wall blocking it. Imagine there are 3 people outside the wall who want to watch it....a 5 year old who's like 4.5 tall, a short guy who's like 5.4 tall and now a tall guy who's 6.6 and can see through the wall. Equity (getting them all to the same position) would look like giving the tallest ladder to the 5 year old, a shorter ladder to 5.4 guy and none to the 6.6 guy. So at the end of the day, now all can watch the game. Another example is....if Kenya wanted to have another capital city.....let's say Marsabit, which is less developed than Nairobi. One of the ways the govt would do this is sending more resources to Marsabit than it would Nairobi. So in the end, Marsabit grows to a level like Nai. In a relationship, how I think or noticed this looks like for me is that sometimes I notice I have more toxic traits than my partner. This means, for the relationship to be healthy/grow in health, I need to put more effort coz yeye hastruggle kama mimi. Not to mean they won't put in effort but it goes back to the toddler, 5.4, 6.6 analogy. At the end of the day, when we both fully put in our respective amount of effort, like watching the football game, we enjoy the fruits of a healthy relationship. It really is not fair, but I dare say fair wouldn't have led to everyone enjoying the match. If the Toddler, 5.4 guy and 6.6 guy got the same stools, only one person would enjoy the match and the rest frustrated. If I don't work fully on all the things I can to make my partner feel loved, cherished and respected.....the relationship suffers and we both suffer/are affected. Hope this helps 😊🧡.

Just an honest question to our good ladies, why is keeping time such an issue? I dont think this is hugely related to make-up time, there is just generally no effort our good ladies make to keep time pro-actively. I believe something can be done now and in our next generations.
