There's a saying I've used my entire life, "Life sucks, but you always got a choice, you can either fall in an let the suck take you, or you can pickup the damn vacuum an get to cleaning."
I feel better with your straight-to-the-point talks, it shows that out of all the current events, we can really just look at something WITH FACTS AND EVIDENCE to say, "hey that's bad, I'm not gonna support that! This is why you shouldn't!" And in this video, you just bare bones it and it really hits home! I wish you well and hope ya feel better!!
I got things to keep me going. Stuff is gonna suck but stuff is keeping me motivated to keep going. If I can keep up with those motives, I can survive. We can make it through this, everyone.
Same. When The Doom clings to my brain, I turn on music from my tweens and grab my crochet hook. Every time I make a new hat, I can give away the better hat to someone who needs it. Done it once so far, and the man who got it was very greatful both to receive it and to have someone stop and talk with him. Being a homeless man on the corner, most folks won't even look at him. So when I gave the hat, I asked 1 thing in return; to know his name. His name is Paul, and he's very sweet. Big Seahawks fan.
We need to begin Mutual Aid connections and develop our own support systems between communities. You who are reading this-Start by talking with neighbors. Make a community garden. Find friends who have trade skills.
For a solid... ten years of my life, I was deeply invested in social justice across the board. Every petition for good that crossed my email, I signed. I read newsletters and news posts and was deeply invested in the world around me and in improving the world around me. Then 2016 happened-- the first regime hit me like a truck. I developed depression, and in trying to claw my way out of it, I pulled back from a lot of that social justice advocacy. I delete so many of those emails now. I next to never sign petitions. I still care-- but I also care about me and my mental health. Anyone who's ever flown knows, "Secure your own mask before assisting others." It's completely okay to pull back and take care of yourself in the next several years.
Amazing point! Eventually you have to take breaks from the shitload of awful things happening everywhere, and that doesn't make you a bad person, and that doesn't make you weak. You're only human, so do what you can, where and when you can. Take breaks when you need to, and take care of yourself as much as you're able to. It's gonna be a long four years, but take it one day at a time, one week, one month, and eventually November 5, 2027 will be here before we know it.
"bold enough to not hide [their oligarcy-izing]" is the state of play, ayup. ongoing process of democracy is ongoing, albeit diminishing, but hopefully: The sleeper can awaken. The sleeper is us. Awaken.
I hope you feel better soon. There’s some nasty bugs going around. Here’s hoping we all get through this together. I know this probably sounds silly but as someone who suffers from severe depression, it’s killing me that this is all happening the moment i actually have been able to push that back and confidently say I *WANT* to keep breathing. It’s a weird feeling to go “oh my god I’m so happy I’m alive” finally and then turn around and and see everything around me on fire. At we’re going through it together.
I try and watch what’s going on in the news when I can, but I much rather prefer to prioritize my mental health over what’s going on. Besides there’s nothing I can do anyways I don’t have money or resources to help people who are in need. If everyone looked at all the things that were going on in the world right now suicide rates will be going up, and I agree with the sentiment of people prioritizing themselves and their mental health that’s all we can really do in this time of crisis
I’m trying to fight hard for my happiness endev. But I know it’s gonna be hell. I know the next four years is gonna be hell in this country and probably the world. But more specifically this country. It makes me sad. I’m actively looking into what countries are safe for someone like me to immigrate and move to all things considered in the event I need to drop everything and flee. I want to do the process naturally, but I know I have to be ready to flee in an instant for my own safety and wellness. I wish that, in the year 2025, I didn’t have to even consider this option, but it’s the world we live in today. I’m scared, a lot of people are scared. I’m scared for the future to come. But I know I need to do what I can to survive. Even if it means moving and leaving everything I know behind. I’m not a praying kind of guy. But I’ll wish and hope for brighter days ahead. For myself, for you and for all of us.
I care about you, I care about my people, my friends and the community that i have, I dont know what is going to happen, but i will try to be as kind as possible.
any suggestions for other reliable news sources to go to? idk if I'd be able to find anything after tiktok is removed that's reliable and true information without either learning a new language or digging hard and hoping what I dug for isn't just more misinformation haha
I'd suggest reading widely if you can, bc everyone has biases including me (most of these are at least a bit left-leaning) - New York Times, Washington Post, CBC News (Canadian)
@gammafae-zib Yeah absolutely not. I don't mean any disrespect to you or your friends, but checking weather is one thing, hearing politics news through a grapevine is Exactly how misinformation spreads
it sucks that my gran is very pro trump and i just have to sit there and just not listen because im tired of trying to explain why she is wrong and what he will do and has done

Luigi was the start. I think mario is about to take the spotlight, he's had experience with dethroning bowser and his minions for over 30 years now
I get the joke but we cannot keep relying on savior figures to problems for us.
Happy to have found one of the most sober, honest, and heartfelt takes on our current reality. Thank you sir. We will survive as an act of rebellion.
I recently got a tattoo that exemplifies that sentiment - it's a knife beside the words "existence is resistance"

We can make it through this, everyone.
Absolutely critical to have something to rally yourself around
@@endeavorance Exactly. There's stuff I'm looking forward to among other aspects to keep me going.

Feel better soon! It is always better to hear and face the truth and reality, than to ignore it and live in the dark. Brilliant advice!

Thank you, Dev.
The ending was touching. Thank you for opening your heart and having the courage to keep the community going. Thinking of you!

Ok. So what should we do?

3:20 what do you mean by a century? There’s a lot of ways to slice WHEN our country became this but why slice it for the past 100 years?
