Absolute class. So woefully undervalued at the time of their double act. They seemed to enjoy the experience as much as the audience. Both are still a joy to watch/listen to on their own, but the two together do have work brilliantly.
Amazing, I loved 'This Morning...' when I was a teen. You don't see things like this on TV any more, let alone on a Sunday morning. Roll on March 9th when I get to see Mr. Herring live.
Criminal considering how they launched a load of comics as writers that his can not be shot professionally on DVD.....There again, that would alter their off beat faux bitter charm...Still, a pity and hats off to whoever captured this...Cheers,diamondgeyser.
This is the ONLY video featuring Stewart Lee I've ever seen on TH-cam that didn't have a single "XX has let himself go" comment. And it was posted 9 years ago!!! Something's definitely off.
seriously, why don't they do this more often? i know they've both got they're own careers, and they're both great by themselves (saw Stewart Lee live last week, really good- download both of Herring's podcasts, he's really good) but thiese clips are great too- maybe a lee & herring tour every couple years, is that too much to ask?
@sirdobby Haha! I watched that show (and your ordeal) two nights ago. I actually made a point of checking to see if you came out and sat in the same seat for the second part and thought brave girl when you did. Hats off. [=
I'm going to throw this open to viewers: did L&H not think there would be commercial potential for a proper recording? And, if so, do you think there _was_ potential for such a recording to sell?
@the52show It was Franklyn Ajaye. Belittled further on his Comedy Vehicle show, which TH-cam user woodie1177 can helpfully provide for you, though the site is being a blaggard at not permitting a link for it here. So... forwardslash watch?v=sRA2mMmxYfE is the pertinent bit.
Brilliant. Both of them were more on-form and seasoned as performers here than they'd ever been, infusing old with new material. I don't have a problem with the audio, it's just a pity the stage is so shabby. This is top-notch comedy and they deserve far better. Oh and those girls were playing the theme tune totally wrong!
@wangpangu Why wouldn't you check out your own stuff on TH-cam? If you were a singer would you ignore reviews and click MTV off if they ever played your song or would you be interested in how your artistic endeavours were being received? Are you really no sharper than a bubble? Also, alliteration, no matter how objectionable, does not automatically turn inane humourless drivel into the title for a show. It seems you ain't sporting much above the neck, in the cranial area, either. Hard luck.

this friendship has let itself go
The old chemistry is still there. I would love to see this show recorded properly "with cameras and that"
Mel Giedroyc from Great British Bake-Off is in the red lycra gimp suit haha
just came here to post this lmao
Had to revisit this to make sure someone had commented with that fact!
Richard herring is bloody brilliant :O)
Richards "you can prove anything with facts" at the end, so fucking brilliant.
Stu Mackenzie lifted straight from the Simpsons
actually i think it was lifted from one of stewart lee's routines

Thanks for uploading this. Although I do like both of their solo stuff, it's fantastic to see them together again! Brilliant. Wish I'd been there.

Looks about as good as my fist of fun live vhs ;)
After corona please do another of these!
We need a 20 year anniversary TMWRNJ
Why didn't go faster stripe film this?
The sound's bad ... but the material's good enough to make straining to hear it worth the effort.
Still the best double act going :)
Top Quality! They really should do this more. I only just found out they'd done it at all, gutted.

TH-cam commenters have let themselves go. Much like Stewart Lee, incidentally.
dem shelvs gonne
He hasnt let himself go. Much.

Can't believe this is 15 years old

they are still funny
Stewart Lee's timing is class.
Is that TV's Emma Kennedy as the front member of the intro band?!
Uh, did you not see the description
You can tell my frieeend! Lmao!
First thing Herring said once the band left got a big laugh. Can anyone tell what he said? All I got was "Stewart come out to play"
Oh/Old Mr Lee
@@mohsin90ish thanks so much. Don't know how I didn't know now. Especially as it makes perfect sense. Poor Stew!
question.. how the living fuck did richard herring change out of that red suit so quick?
Hasn't Richard Herring's elderly and overweight Uncle let himself go
OMG I would have so gone to this if I'd known it was on
What a great show. Maybe I'll make the next one, in a decade's time... :(
Did you make it?
emma kennedy looking fiiiiiiiine
First line and I'm in stitches - Herring > Lee anyday
So many questions, not the least of which is, "Why is Rich standing so far upstage?"
Is that Emma Kennedy on the bass?
I'm going to throw this open to viewers: did L&H not think there would be commercial potential for a proper recording? And, if so, do you think there _was_ potential for such a recording to sell?
Stew drooping in an old first of fun reference "I am him.
I am him you know
Those who know, know
@chadstarbuck yeah, it looks and sounds like her anyway
Stewart going to the back to check his lines 😂😂
Ahh they love* each other really
Is that Lady Gaga doing a dance at the beginning?
Sod Oasis This Is The Réunion We Wanted.....We Want....THE MOON ON A STICK.
Best Double Act since Mike and Bernie Winters and then Hope and Keen...
I wonder if the dancing gimp at the beginning was Miranda Hart?
John Reilly I thought the exact same thing
It was Mel Giedroyc.

@Richherring1967 You can prove anything with facts.
Curse you Richard for not inviting people to the pub this way !!
Recorded with two tin cans and some twine.

"do have work brilliantly" ????
I am a moron. That is all.
They did good for girls .
Precisely.
I'm no audiophile I find that stuff disgusting. Thanks for posting
Morcambe & Wise have let themselves go.
No, you are not Richard Herring. Stop telling lies. :'(
richard herring with his bestiality and necrophilia gags. happy days 😛
Richard Herring's mate has let himself go.
Ace.
CharitableView is joking.
Elsa from Frozen has let herself go

Unless they're women half your age, of course.
