    I'm feeling great and I've had my last post operative surgeon appointment. All looking good...now to get strong and active again.

    Andre, I greatly appreciate these useful videos. It's an injury that doesn't happen to everyone but it's an injury that can happen to anyone. I am glad you emphasized you don't have a weak back but rather simply a back injury. Mate, hope all is well four years out, cheers.

      @BigSmile thanks a million brother! I am fantastic, still lifting twice a week, playing tennis every week and six a side football every Friday! Some people get dodgy ankles, knees, calf muscles etc...life...we just roll with it!

      @@AndreR10R9 It may be hard for you to remember but at the 6 week mark did you still feel the occasional tingling sensation/paresthesia in the affected leg? My 6 week recovery milestone is tomorrow and although the nerve pain is gone I am extraordinarily impatient with the healing process. Frustrating indeed.

    Hi Andre, thanks so much for your videos. I'm in Cork, and just two weeks after my surgery : ) was relieved to hear you had nerve pain (sorry!) after week two. I do now, and was a little worried until I saw your video. I'm usually very active too, and want to get back to life as soon as possible : )

      Hi there - where'd you get your surgery done? Yeah don't worry too much about the nerve pain; it's more than likely healing, especially if nothing happened!! 👍🏼😀

      @@AndreR10R9 I'm not sure, I hope soon! I still have muscle problems in my QL, from when my muscles were trying to hold everything together from the disc, and it's uncomfortable more than painful. I love ashtanga yoga, but I'd say it will be a while before I can get back to that : ( but I credit yoga and hillwalking to how fast I'm healing...I guess physio is pretty gentle, not very challenging?

      Andre I’m feeling really good. I’m completely off narcotics, only taking Tylenol when I get the occasional flareup. Haven’t had a flareup in a few days and when I do they’re nothing compared to the ones I use to get before the surgery. The mental aspect of the recovery is very tough, especially in the first two weeks but it’s getting a easier. Right now I’m just trying my hardest not to BLT and to take it easy. Thanks for asking!🙏🏼

      Andre you weren’t kidding about the not so good days. They can be quite scary because our mind thinks the worst. The last 2 days have been pretty tough for me. The pain in my leg is just so odd, not knowing if it’s muscular or nerve related, and thinking the worst about it.
      Please keep us updated if you can. I’m very interested in knowing about the things you can and can not do, as well as how you’re feeling at 10 or 12 weeks.

    Man thanks for the video.Im 29. Although my pain isn’t bad maybe a 4/10 at the highest. I’ve had my herniated disc for 4 months. Sciatica on and off depending on what I’m doing. I was a very active person that was addicted to doing anything active, running, weight training, and moutain biking. Working out aggravates it. I get told by many people to just wait it out, but they are people that aren’t active. I’ve already turned down a dream job that I went to school for because of the injury. It was a federal agent and being active is part of the job. I’ve opted for the surgery in hopes that I can be active again and get that job that I had to turn down. Scheduled for L4/L5 micro in 5 days. I just wanna run again and sweat again. What are your thoughts?

    Hey Andre. Just have a quick question for you. Did you ever experience numbness in a new or different area after surgery? For some reason I noticed yesterday that the lower outside part of my thigh is numb. This is something I did not have before surgery. My foot and calf were numb but not my thigh. I was wondering if you experienced anything like this? I am now 8 weeks post surgery.

    • @AndreR10R9
      @AndreR10R9  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Very interesting question! I experienced an area of numbness I never had before in the outter right part of my big toe but this seems to be mostly gone now and had 0 impact on anything I did. It was weird though . Thankfully all clear now but occasionally stiff in morning until up and about...

      Andre thank you for the reply. When did you notice that new onset of numbness come about? And how long did it last before it was resolved?
