That is a GREAT question. I'm actually coming out with an in-depth ukulele care routine video for the day after Christmas. In the video, I'll teach you how to clean, and condition your instrument as well. You strings should be changed every 6 months. I've also heard every 12 months as well. I hope that helps.

Thank you so much for replying! I am looking for a ukulele that’s up to 200 dollars. I like a brighter sound and a glossy finish, but I’m open for anything! Most of the time I do strumming, but I also love to fingerpick once in a while. Again thank you so much and keep up the good work! By the way, have you ever tried cordoba ukuleles?
Yes! Cordobas are incredible. They’re handmade and they are stunning! I’m going to inbox and review one soon! If glossy and bright is what you’re looking for, I would say the Enya would be a great find. It has more of a mellow tone, but try some Martin Fluorocarbon strings on them. I have a Sun Star solid top spruce uke with the Martin strings, and the tone is Incredible!!! Let me know if you need any links.

I saw in a comment below that you mentioned Martin Florocarbin strings. I have a concert Kala solid spruce top mahogany back & sides high gloss finish. Do you think the strings you mentioned would be a good sound for my uke? I feel that my uke should resonate a bit better! Or maybe it's just the way I play. That’s a great question, and it certainly wouldn’t hurt to try them. They’re not expensive, and I though it really brought my already wonderful instrument to another level. They’re softer to the touch than Aquila. I’d say you have nothing to lose by trying different strings.
