- Jon Lampley is a magnificent player, as soulful and present as they come. He’s playing trumpet on the Colbert late show and co-leads the seriously groovy Huntertonesband, among many other projects.
In this video you’re seeing our first meeting with Jon, where he’s playtesting the LOTUS 3L and 3M mouthpieces as well as our new CLASSIC Model.
Jon’s group Huntertonesband are known for their fun, fearless and imaginative music. All the members of the group deliver a high-energy performance that I warmly recommend you to check out.

We wish you nothing but success and joy on your musical adventures, Jon!

This man sounds so freaking good! Lotus will be my next horn, too. He’s playing with a spectacular lack of effort that goes beyond being a great player.
I've discovered more fantastic musicians on this channel ; thanks 💪🏿💪🏾💪🏽💪🏻💪🏼💪
I'm about a month and a half into playing a new Lotus 3XL trumpet mouthpiece and it's pretty incredible. Excellent intonation, easy even play across registers and incredible variety of tones. You can get deep dark creamy ballads, but still light up in the upper register. A big deep cup that has literally no loss of upper register (at least for me.) I love it.
@LOTUS Trumpets Bronze! Love it. I love the trumpet mouthpiece so much I bought a 3XL flugel mouthpiece to match. Loving both of them.
fascinating listening this piece of test. Thks for sharing !
This doesn't make choosing any more easy. I guess we just need all of them.
This guy sounds killer!!
_Blessed assurance_ gospel song @9 25 😇📖
I badly want a new mouthpiece
me too maaan
Where can I listen to that cover of “cry me a river” it sounds amazing
What mouthpiece would you advise me to buy? I've been playing on a Bobby Shew Lead mouthpiece coupled with a Yamaha YTR6335 for a few years, which is very comfortable and sounds ok (a bit 'stock') throughout different registers, but I'd like a smokier timbre during softer playing on the staff (like at 1:18) and more sizzle above it. I'd like something comparable to the tone here, or a Roy Hargrove sound, within reason for combo work in small venues.
this is next level bro
What mouthpiece would you guys advise me to buy ? I play a lot on a 1 1/2 C Bach for my orchestra but feel like i lack upper register. Play a monette B4LS1 for a disco dance band i play with using a microphone but feel i'm way too loud
Need more endurance and ease in higher register basically
Thanks !
Some Nick Payton lines from Woopin Blues at the end)
When he tests the three mouthpieces he's going "C
Yes it's high C to F (actually Bb to Eb but all y'all trumpet players got to be special damnit). He's not actually pushing down the 3rd valve. He's just putting his finger next to the valve for some odd reason.
im looking to get a Lotus Mouthpiece. I do have bigger lips than normal. Anyone know which one i should go for
The subtitles are super helpful.😆😆😆
does anyone know what the opening song to these videos is?
I really want to try the best trumpet you guys have for lead playing.
Excellent!! I am from Brazil. Where are you guys located?
@LOTUS Trumpets Excellent. I will email you guys so that we go ahead with the purchase details. Thanks in advance
Who plays the trumpet in the beginning the video?
Good.
What is the song at the beginning of the video?
