    I have a 2019 T680 and your video helped me change my recirculation filter. You were very concise and the person filming was spot on with keeping the camera where it needed to be.
    This was my first time changing this filter and your guidance had me doing this like a pro.
    Thanks for the great upload!

    I changed this filter today WITHOUT removing the grab bar. You can get a Phillips screwdriver around the outside of the bar to remove the hidden screw for the glovebox after peeling away the small plastic triangular piece of fascia. have to work the glovebox out, but much easier than getting out the socket set to remove the grab bar. Takes less than 15 minutes to change the filter now.

      Exactly! Nice catch. And then pull the side panel to right of the glove box and reach in that side. Much easier to get to and remove & replace the filter. The left side is the popular way & why Dealer's claim it's a 5 hour job. The right side complete with pulling the dash panels around glove box is only about an hour.

    Oh my God thank you so much I've been trying to figure out if my Peterbilt 579 had one of those filters nobody not even the dealership could tell me if it had one.
    Thank you thank you thank you and thank you again.

    Thanks, that saved a ton of money, albeit somewhat time consuming the first time. Mine was so clogged that when I turned on the recirculating setting the fan sucked my cabin fresh air filter up into the box. And all tan need is a #2 phillips, 13mm socket on a short extention & a T-20 torx wrench, nothing more. The T-20 is also useful to stick thru the small holes and work the filter into place.

    Hey Brother, good video, just finished the replacement of the recir filter this moment, hasn't been changed, first one, new truck, was filthy, but the filter, there are 2 in the engine compartment are the most crucial, and yes, there are 2, replace them every 6 months and your AC air will be fine! Thx

    I had Frightliner in my fleet, but I changed to Kenworth thinking it was the best truck in the USA and because of this A/C problem, and other manufacturing problems that they do not finish solving and they do not give me answers, today I continue to spend money in it and I don't even have credit for my expenses... Today I am happy with VOLVO

    About how long did you run the original filter before you changed it the first time? I know having dogs would shorten the life of the filter . I have a 2018 T-680 that I've had for around 9 months . I have no pets but would like to change it soon and add an extra filter outside the bottom intake vent to catch everything so I wouldn't have to change it as often.

    Hi sir I have a question in reference to my 2015 KW T680. My heat is not working in the front however it does work in the rear of cabin. I went to a Mechanic and he said it’s going to take him 12 to 16 hours of labor and then what ever the parts would be. Any suggestions on this please.

    • @semitruckdiy6609
      @semitruckdiy6609  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you sooner, but it sounds like you’re front heater core is clogged. It’s pretty easy to change if you use a couple odd clamps to clamp the supply and Reston lines to the heater core.

    Under the hood on the passenger side there is a door that you slide towards the firewall. This will allow you to slide the filter right out and replace it with the new one. put the door back on and slide it towards the front of the truck. Takes 10 seconds.
