Throughout NFL history, we’ve seen plenty of draft day trades that looked genius at first, only to wind up as all-time disasters.
Here is a look at every NFL team’s most disgustingly bad draft day trade.
And remember! This list ONLY includes trades that actually happened ON Draft Day. Not before.

The 1974 Steelers draft picked 4 future hall of famers, and then a 5th one was signed after the draft. That was the best draft of all time.

In the trubisky trade bears gave up one pick that was used on rb called Alvin Kamara and a mlb that goes by the name of Fred warner

@@noahsilon4630 Kamara is a Pro Bowler for the Saints, and Warner is a Pro Bowler for the 49ers.
To this day I still don’t know what they saw in Trubisky Watson was clearly the best QB to get at the time and didn’t have to trade up to get him either oh well Watson is now dealing with accusations so it is what it is

There was one draft where the Browns gave up a few picks to the Vikings to move up one spot and take a running back the Vikings had no interest in (they already had Adrian Peterson).
Mitchell Trubisky has a Winning record and as far as passer rating he is the best qb in bears history. He's the only qb with 0 pick 6s on him too. He was done dirty by Nagy who put his own ego over the team.

Not even close with the chiefs. 2002 Ryan sims number 6 overall. 8 years on nfl with a 143 tackles and 8 sacks.
The Cardinals trading for Rosen wasn't bad as they didn't give up much and needed a QB.
The worst draft trade had to be when they gave up the #2 pick in the 1998 to the chargers for the #3 and additional players and draft picks. The Cardinals came out like bandits but they made a bad pick selecting Andre Wadsworth instead of Charles Woodson and that set them back even more.
If the worst draft day for the Vikings was 2013, the worst draft in the 2000s, the Vikings have done okay overall on draft day then.
..Except for THAT trade. Grr

Good video but I don’t think that Falcons-Colts trade in 1990 was bad on the Atlanta’s side considering that Andre Risen was a 4X Pro Bowler and Chris Hinton was a Pro Bowl and an a 1st team All Pro. Also don’t think the Seahawks-Cowboys in 1977 deal bad considering Dorset didn’t want to play for an expansion team.
Probably pretty difficult to pick the worse of all when it came to a certain handful of teams... Those seem to be the same group of franchises that pick in the top 10 every goddamn year!
Browns would have got Julio Jones but he would have been gone after his rookie contract anyways cuz they didn't have any quarterback power to get his career going like Matt Ryan did

Atlanta's worst draft trade was actually their trade with the Chargers in 2001 to draft a man involved in dog fighting.
On the flip side of the IND-ATL trade, Indy eventually traded Jeff George to the same team they traded to get him in the first place, and Jeff George SHOCKINGLY met the criteria necessary to turn the Atlanta 96 draft pick they owed to the Colts into a 1st round pick. Who did Indy use that pick on? None other than Marvin Harrison. So yeah, trading up for Jeff George did work out for the Colts, just not as expected, and in a way that would benefit them greatly a decade later.
Man the Kijana Carter one really sucks. I know they say this all the time, but IMO Carter would've been a great RB!?!! This guy was sick in college and had the size and talent for sure! Crazy to look back and Penn State used to be the pipeline for RB's and ILB's!
The Ricky Williams trade had to be the worst

That was an absolute disaster, but then again, nothing went right for the Giants in 2019.

Ok but TPS isn’t saying how Dorsett said he would play in the CFL if drafted by Seattle and they needed an infusion of talent at all positions.

if that is the worst draft trade the Steelers ever had, that really isnt so bad. The Steelers did have Merrill Hoge and Barry Foster as well as what they hoped was big time in Tim Worley. Obviously Smith was miles better, but not a terrible trade to get Greene. Seems like Pittsburghs Draft day trades overall netted 2 HOF players too. Not too shabby
I'd look into DeAndre baker for the giants. That trade was a disaster. Dude was terrible on the field and then got charged with armed robbery and was cut.

The Packers were just fine on offense, just look at the statistics. A WR or OL? Sure, but Aaron didn't win that MVP all by himself, somebody was pass blocking, opening holes, picking up blitzes, running routes, getting open, catching passes, and 3 RB's running the ball so productively it was not only among the best yardage totals in the league, it made the play action passing the best in league
The player they SHOULD have taken was an ILB, who was a Pro Bowler in his rookie season, and he WAS still on the board for the Pack.
The draft blunder that will irritate me every time I watch a Pittsburgh Steelers game, and I've been a Steelers fan just as long as I've been a Packers fan, is the Packers inexplicably choosing to pass on elite pass rusher, elite OLB, and team leader, TJ Watt!!!
Watt is a lifelong Wisconsin resident, a Wisconsin Badgers star, and younger brother of two other Wisconsin Badgers and NFL players, including Hall of Fame brother jj. They traded OUT of a pick when they COULD HAVE drafted WATT,, so they could move down and draft CB Kevin King. King is a good player with good speed and great size, HOWEVER, they COULD HAVE drafted WATT, and traded UP in the second round and STILL DRAFTED King.
I called Rosen being a bust as soon as he winked at the camera against A&M in 2017. Damn shame

The Tampa one was worse for Jacksonville. They moved up and took Justin Blackmon who didn't even last the 2 yrs Barron was with Tampa. And...since they could have had Barron at 5 they woukdnt even have gotten the later draft pick.
It was actually a good trade for Tampa...they got the pick too. It was just a bad pick taking Barron

So we're not gonna mention how the Rams traded up to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 draft, only to select Jared Goff, who would play good for only 2 years and then regress heavily after that to the point where they had to trade him away? C'mon now. Y'all know THIS was the worst draft trade the Rams have ever made.
Goff stayed with the Rams for 4 years. Led them to a Super Bowl and became a pro bowler, I don’t see that as a bad trade for the Rams.

The only reason that it hurts so badly to be a Bears fan of 35 years as opposed to a jets or Browns fan, is that the Bears produced some of the biggest stars the game has ever seen such as Walter Payton, Devon Hester, Butkus, Urlacher, etc and they have had some teams that seemed like they could be contenders, only to end the season in heartbreak.

Sooooo in clicking through other videos I only now found out Jared Allen was deemed a Long Snapper prospect coming out of Idaho State and that he did snap in the NFL. That, to me, is nuts and makes him worthy of the best NFL long snapper ever ever.

The Saints trading their whole draft plus two picks in the following year's draft to move up to get Ricky Williams has to be the stupidest draft trade of all time.
