I am so glad to see this high level success in a clinical setting! I had to swim against medical, friends, and family opinions when I went sugar free LCHF prior to reverse my diabetes.

Did it work?? What do you eat if you don't mind me asking

    • @foodmonsterweightloss5886

@@Johnnyquid20 Yes it worked. Before answering about my diet, let me preface it. I also have advanced cardio vascular disease which has the same root cause as t-2 which is inflammation. I found out about my heart condition several years after leraning about diabetes. Because of the CVD, I've gone 100% no inflammation. Zero carbs. Other than coffee, my diet contains zero plant foods. I am full time carnivore. Beef, pork, chicken and eggs are my mainstays. Rarely, some hard cheeze. Some homemade yogurt.

@@foodmonsterweightloss5886 Well done! After what appeared to be sudden onset arthritis and burning pains on my legs, following a certain recent medical intervention, I began eliminating inflammatory foods, and I'm now 90% carnivore. No starchy veg, grains, sugar, seed oils or anything ultra-processed. It seems to have resolved my problems, and I'm at my college weight, despite being in my late 60's, and feeling strong on a bike and at the gymn.

Nice work. There has be at least a million in the US with success stores. And wont get recorded. I told my dr what i did. She had a dicta-person recording it by writing it in a laptop. I'm male. The comments are fire here on this youtube channel. And many others. I took the plunge too, not quite carnivore but very close. Beef, lots of cheese, cream and eggs. LCHF omad as usual now a days. I was terrified at first and said I'm this bad off. I'm not well. I had to and in 3 days i knew it was the right thing. Weight and bloat and problems went away fast. One finger was arthritizing, but is back to normal. It hurt medium. Numb heels are still there but don't hurt anymore. My feet used to hurt, couldn't stand more than 20 min. I'm 40. BP went 25 points down. Balding head is coming back and good spots are full and thick. Eye pressure is down, less swollen. Waist went 6 in smaller fast. 4 months 40 pounds. I'm 8 month in and went back up in weight because i thought olive oil was ok. NOPE. do not eat olive oil or any oils, you know that but others need to hear it's fattening, but not necessarily inflamating as bad as other oils. I love butter and ghee. Keep it up. I didn't have to convince my wife to change either, she saw how fat i was gettting and was getting scared. she's lost 25 pounds too, with very little effort, i just had to stop with the corn oil at that time. That stuff is the worst.

This is so exciting... I am Australian... THIS is what I have been doing - on my own - with very little intervention from my Doctor except to monitor the medications I went off in March last year! After seeing your study Veronique, I am so enthused about the fact that MY Hba1c took an upward turn in the last quarter, from 3 consecutive 'normal' range results. The reason I am enthused? Well *I* thought *I* was doing something wrong.... I have had a very stressful few months - and YOUR study just showed me that I didnt need to worry - in effect add more stress!
I have lost and kept off more than 20kg and now I am jumping at the bit to get going with more weight loss and lower Hba1c's - THANK YOU!!!!

I reversed diabetes following a ketogenic lifestyle. Two major side effects were: 1. I lost 85 pounds. 2. I’m exponentially healthier brain to toes. Been living this way for 4 years now and know no other way to live. Great show, thanks.

For me, it has given me much more energy and clarity of mind, and when I have to eat a cheat meal when visiting relatives, it feels wrong. I much prefer never feeling hungry or bloated and being able to skip meals at will.

It's a pity that general GPs still won't look at the data and continue to prescribe meds, the standard Aust diet and exercise as the only way to control T2D. As far as they are concerned, there is no cure only medication to control its effects!

I took my mum off statins here in Oz due to muscle myopathy, onset of type 2, onset of arthritis. She’s doing amazing now and her new doctor said I saved her life by taking her off the statins she never needed in the first place. So long term use of statins can cause many health issues and possibly death. GP’s are crazy and generally overprescribe very dangerous drugs. When I tell people GP’s are probably the most dangerous drug dealers in the world I get funny weird looks.

Your hospital experience is mine too. Giving terrible carb loaded food , some of it ordered on a medication chart! , and chasing it with insulin just led to terrible swinging blood glucose levels in our poor patients. People deserve NORMAL bgls.

I can attest to this approach. Having been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 9 years ago I've been 'normal' for over 7 years. My GP and nutritionist at the time prescribed insulin and a low fat ultra processed food. A diabetes consultant advised me to ignore this advice and I found my way to a Low Carb GP. I dropped over 30kg and have never taken meds. I understand why the medical system is so stuffed but I live in hope that it will one day change. There's now zero excuse for GPs and other medical practitioners to mistreat patients with Type 2 D.

Awesome... I practice independently, which has challenges. I definitely support this team approach but it needs to be for all ppl; not exclusive to diabetes. Ex: a current client without diabetes but significant central adiposity: metabolic syndrome, HTN, chronic inflammation.....

Could you please make a presentation of all the results of all the 5 years of the Virta 5-year study? I know it's a different company. But the same kind of project. And that company is not being fully transparent. Are you being fully transparent yourselves? Is your raw data available for external analysis?

I wear multi-focals which can be very annoying at times; I have to point my nose where I am looking so I cannot see things clearly in my peripheral vision so it can be very frustrating. However I remind myself that I am very fortunate to have such good quality glasses which allow me to see.

Some have said olive oil is ok in medium to high quantities. For my white/european decent it makes me retain weight. I've don't enough experiments with me self to confirm this. 15 pounds gained when going with a higher quantity of that compared to butter/coconut oil. I'm suspect on coconut oil now, time to experiment more. Some of my rational and explanation can be read or watched by brad marshall fire in a bottle. Croissant diet guy.
