@@ADMTyRenn I don’t disagree with your point for the instance of playing in a team. I was writing to the context of the video of solo play. The reality is that people are going to do whatever they want bc that’s what happens right now.
I run 2 different builds for high difficulty solo bugs Disposable Rockets, Grenade Launcher, Ammo Pack, Gattling Sentry/Stun Mortar, and Hellpod Optimization/Stamina or Disposable Rockets, Arc Thrower, Jetpack, Gatling Sentry/Stun Mortar, and Hellpod Optimization/Stamina I use the pump shotgun and the same armor as you. I find the Dispo rockets to be essential for dealing with bad RNG, as you can two-shot Bile Titans, and destroy Shrieker nests from miles away as you do other stuff. The Arc Thrower is amazing at keeping crowds down, is perfect for dealing with Shriekers if necessary, and can even finish off Titans and Chargers if I miss the instakill rocket. The ammo pack is really nice because it lets you tank absolutely loads of damage, and kite hordes for ages before you're even remotely in danger, plus it lets you just absolutely spam grenades. The jetpack helps you get away from basically everything though, and is great for getting the perfect distance to arc. I don't find much use for the shield backpack against bugs, it's only really good for saving yourself from mistakes (which the jetpack does aswell), and letting you bomb things up close (I don't run many big bombs). I prefer the mobility or nearly infinite ammo. The Gatling Sentry is a great mob clearer for when things get overwhelming, and is guaranteed to take a Bile Titan's attention away from you, including most of any horde. The Stun Mortar is best used pre-emptively, it lets you take out a crucial area before any bugs can cause a bug breach. Overall though I play a bit more aggressively, and try to clear out minor areas of interest for the credits and samples, and my builds make that a bit clear.
I am not level to unlock the shield pack yet but i went on and tried the loadout other wise. For reference - Im use to running guard dog and stalwark. So switching to grenade launcher and no guard dog is a change. I had already discovered that the big puke bugs are weak to grenades so the grenade launcher just helps there already. I was already successful without the shield pack (um on medium difficulty though) so i cant wait to try harder difficulty once i get the shield pack
Never thought about using macros for stratagems cuz the way they designed it is quite immersive and fun. It feels badass to enter some code and call in a 500kg big boom
I agree. I feel like it's a mechanic of the game I genuinely enjoy and don't want to change at all. I even keep the keys bound to WASD so I have to be quick (if you bind them to something else, you can actually move while typing stratagems in)
I'm very fast with WSAD stratagems as well, I don't like using the arrow keys as that forces my hand off the mouse which can result in my death since I'm not use to calling in anything that way.@@HighwayW
A variation I'd suggest on this build is, medic light armor, swap shield for rover (clears out the hunters/clutter bugs), swap scorcher for breaker (better all around weapon, whereas breaker is an emergency weapon with poor economy when everything must die now), and use stun grenades to round out the kit. Could also use sickle... which I haven't tried with this build yet but would probably do well if you just can't let go of the shield, as its better at wiping out small adds, leaning on GL for mediums.
Rover is a great alternative. The shield reduces the skill floor and allows you to make more mistakes however which was the point of this to me - to make fr easiest, low skill friendly build possible When this was recorded, the stun grenades and sickle were not out yet. I definitely recommend stun grenades, sickle and breaker both perform dif things well but for this build where it's about pace I tend to favor the breaker.
Nice vid. IMO Servo-assisted is very overlooked and Vitality booster is a must for me. If I run out of grenades for holes I just use my EAT, can take out 3 holes and short CD. Also I prefer the scorcher/slugger ovrr breaker
Honest question: I thought that doing higher difficulty means more rewards (more samples) but every video I see of people doing dif 9 they just rush main objective and run away without picking any samples. Can you explain to me why?
nice run. I use a very similar loadout, but with +2 grenades. My biggest debate is using impact grenades, vs stun grenades. impacts are perfect against bile spewers, popping packed trash mobs, and are often used in those panic times when the g-launcher and primary is running low, or being reserved for objectives, and something needs to explode immediately. On the flip side, stun grenades are extra insurance to help capitalize on precious hellbombs and eagle strikes against chargers/titans (especially on missions with increased call-in times) . Even if you can't kill a charger, being able to pause it and nearby bugs for 3-4 seconds is often enough to regain stamina and create some breathing room until your eagles come back. The main downside with stun is you will are leaning on your g-launcher much more and its ammo economy is already terrible. It can be managed, but your game will revolve around properly timing/managing supply drops.
I actually have a Loadout I've been using that let's me fight and beat back bug breaches consistently. Sadly I'm struggling to make a video on it because the new update makes it so I crash before I can finish a mission 🙃
@@HighwayW its such a smooth motion too. i run the same except float the airstrike. sniping with the grenade launcher is so good. this vid helped me unlock level 9 :D

I would shoot for either the jump pack or the orbital laser. Laser can be a good stratagem to fall back on if you have issues kiting the bile titans/get overwhelmed in the objectives, jump pack makes you a lot faster and let's you get around easier
This looked like a Level 2 game :-/ It's not the experience I get, somehow. Just today, everywhere patrols and POIs with bugs, very difficult to navigate through without detection. Trying to kite and decimate on the go, but ultimately just too much to manage. In addition to that, brutal effects, like ionic storms. What I think I saw a lot in your video was good situational awareness, being quick with strategemes and very good shooting. That might prevent the horde to grow to big. Something else, I think I observed was, that if a pat hits an "old" strategem, like a gattling or a mine field, they get "told" where I am, as they turn around and run straight at me. I read this somewhere and I think I observed it a couple of times. I'm currently a bit lost and demotivated, and I don't have a good idea, what I could change. Whenever I see people player Level 9, I see very different games. Less chaotic and overrun, like when I play Level 5 for example.
The trick is when you get a big horde coming, you have to just avoid objectives to lose them sometimes. They'll despawn if you go from one objective to another and just circle back later in the match. Avoid gatlings and mine fields and in general stratagems that stick around and instead use stuff like in the loadout that has a lot of versatility and is mostly connected to you specifically. Reduces randomness in the game in general. You'll note the only bugs I tend to shoot are hunters because those are the ones that will keep up with you. Everything else can be lost fairly easily. I will likely do another couple of solo runs since there's some skepticism from a few commenters that the run was just lucky rng, and some criticism for me not full clearing it.
