i’m definitely thinking of attending in-person networking events and i’ve already started joining some facebook groups even tho my VA business is still under construction 🤣 i can’t wait to be a VA!
Please be careful with #1. I did this and had a friend feel I was trying to "sell" her my services when she didn't need them and felt awkward that I asked her if she knew anyone that might need my service. A couple days after she blocked me. I've had a couple of other friends feel uncomfortable. I'd say steer clear from friends and family. I'd never reach out to friends and family again about my business.
Hi there, I'm sorry your friends didn't support you when you told them about your business. Inside the SavvySystem we teach value first and have a template for students to use for personal outreach. While everyone's network is different, the majority of SavvySystem students have a positive and encouraging experience when telling friends and family about their Virtual Assistance business. What methods for finding clients have you found to work for you?
@@thevirtualsavvy I've been emailing businesses and sending them personalised videos on how I can assist them. Have had a few replies but when they find out I charge $25 an hour they bail and prefer to hire someone for $5 an hour working remotely from Asia. I've spent so much on courses and yet to find a client and I've been at this since 2018 on and off. It's quite a disappointment. Even a lady I took a $1k VA course from has closed her business down and taken a 9-5. It's disheartening but I think the industry is saturated.
I agree. The number one rule in every business class/course I took tells you that your friends and family are not your support for your business. There are several reasons for that, but I experienced three. One is that they don't believe in themselves and project their negativity on you. Two, if they are not entrepreneurial-oriented, they think only a 9-5 job is the "real" thing. One of my successful bloggers said that even when he was making over six figures year after year, his mother regularly asked him, "When are you getting a real job?" The third is that they feel uncomfortable and think you are asking them to do your marketing job. I remember well the nay-sayers when I started with my spa long ago. I was only willing to discuss it when I was doing well. Having said all that, you can always try with a well-crafted speech or approach them in a way that you think they'll be comfortable; after all, you know them well.
Thank you for the video, can you do another video on how to find clients online ,am in South Africa and am looking for a remote job around the world .thank you❤
Facebook groups are still one of the best places to find VA work online. Virtual networking events as well. We'll add your video idea to the list. Thanks for watching!
Hi @DonnaAgrinsonis, The team will be back in the office on Tuesday. Your patience is appreciated while our team sorts through the hundreds of join requests we receive every day. Thanks! Here are a few suggestions to make your join request smooth: 1. Be sure that the group you're trying to access is this one: facebook.com/groups/vasavvies 2. We receive hundreds of join requests every day and process them manually to ensure the group is as safe as possible. Your patience is appreciated! 3. Be sure to answer all the questions on your join request including typing "I agree not to self promote." 4. Request to join from a personal profile, not a business page. 5. Have a clear profile picture.
Facebook groups are the worst for me. Way too many scams instead of real potential clients. I feel like they are non-existent on Facebook. I literally made up a group where real people can join, i would remove scams as fast as possible.
Evaluating for scam posts are an unfortunate part of trying to do business online. Check out this video on How to Recognize Scam Jobs: th-cam.com/users/livemkKNAOT492g
Which tip do you want to try?
All of the above 😄🥰
I've never been to an in-person networking event, but I want to go. Thanks for showing in detail how to find these events. This was sooo helpful. 😍
So glad you found it helpful! 😀
