Mistake not mentioned - mistakes will happen its just not if but when. How you handle them (professional emotional maturity) is key for your sanity and keeping a good relationship with client. You learn from mistakes and sometimes you have to purposefully laugh at yourself when you make a mistake to take out the stress and drama and keep things in perspective. Most clients appreciate a clean appropriate sense of humor when problems/issues arise. Being honest and upfront and focusing on a positive solution with good grace or some humor helps diffuse tension and gives client opportunity to have a genuine human relationship with you. So important in these times of AI threatening to take over a lot of VA work.
The perfectionist one is me. I have tried to perfect everything before starting 🤦🏾♀️. But now I just jump out there lol. Learn as I earn. Thanks Abbey!
#1 is true! I am dealing this issue now. My client does not differ independent contractors vs employees. It is like contractors are just employees without the commitment
I also have a bit of a random question to add, is it possible to attract clients when not using an actual profile picture of yourself? I personally am very camera shy and not very photogenic in the first place so I’d rather create a logo, for example, instead. Would this actually repel people instead of drawing their attention in your professional opinion?
This is a great question! It's entirely possible to attract clients in a variety of ways. Will it be more challenging if you choose not share a picture or meet them on a video call? That's also possible. Put yourself in the shoes of your ideal client, what do you think they would prefer? And remember, ACTION over PERFECTION!
This is a common one! As we say here at The Virtual Savvy, ACTION over PERFECTION! Download The VA Checklist and Starter Kit for a free guide on what to focus on when getting started. www.thevirtualsavvy.com/checklist
Whew! I’ve undercharged, and then failed to raise my rate 😬 I even had a client ask why I hadn’t and it STILL didn’t click. Also, failing to continue marketing because I thought, “what the hell am I going to talk about?! While they wait on a slot to open up “ 🥹
Which mistake is most relatable to you?

Great tip! Having a sense of humor can help to get through some of those challenges.

Love this example of how you can change your ways! Way to go, Alana!

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this. 💛 This may be an opportunity for you to educate your client and set boundaries. We're rooting for you!
Definitely working on #2, grateful to be booked out but I want to work on continually making connections. Also #4 is causing me so much anxiety 😭
Awareness is the first step! Now you get to make small changes. You've got this!
If I do incremental pricing wouldn't that means I would have to list my price as $25-50 hourly and some services are charged at flat fee.
As the business owner you get to decide your pricing and how you display it or not. You can say something like "Rates starting at...", for example.
@@thevirtualsavvy okay thanks
You're welcome!

Have you raised your rates now after those hints? 😁
@@thevirtualsavvy yes! I raised them, and went with a higher ticket offering that better suited where I wanted to go. 💁🏾♀️
