Thanks for these tips! So often, I see people comment on job opp posts saying "Interested!" 😒 That really isn't going to get you the job... I love your "value first" strategy. I think that that's a great way to impress potential clients!
Okay Abbey, get out of my head 😆😆 Thank you so much for this I definitely needed it as that's how I feel every time I see a #jobopp on your FB page. But my question, how does one starting out create a portfolio? What would it look like if you are working to land your first client and have nothing to place inside a portfolio?
I love these tips so much, super helpful! Great advice on what to do when you're just starting out and doing some research to come up with proposed solution for your potential client.
Thanks Abbey! This is very valuable information ...I have always wondered what I can do to stand out. Thanks again... By the way, totally love your personality!!!
Well shoot! You got some amazing secret skills there lady…beat boxing?!! Alright now 😃👏🏽 thank you for the value that You give to us to help us succeed.
Been struggling lately to land clients, but I pray that we succeed and reach our dreams!! Amen ❤❤ Tysm for the informative vid, and God bless you, and everyone who is reading this ^^
Hi Abbey, do you have tips video on how and what to be a virtual assistant event manager or sorta around event management handled virtually? I want to know more. Thank you.
Hi Abbey, I've binged all your videos and I think being a VA is my dream job! Thank you for your tips! I was wondering what type of events VAs could go to in order to start networking and how to find these networking events? Thanks so much!
Facebook groups are great for networking. Are you in the VA Savvies Facebook community? You can connect with over 70,000 other virtual assistants as well as The Virtual Savvy team for support and advice. Thevirtualsavvy.com/community You can also check your local chamber of commerce for events as well as meetup.com
I want to become a VA however I want to have privacy while being a VA. I’m assuming when becoming a VA you should have some type of business profile pick up? So that people know you’re a real person? Sorry if that doesn’t make any sense
Best thing I could tell you after almost a year and a half is to take one good set of pictures with a tripod. Use them across social media, your business page or website, etc. I've had to do Zoom calls with prospective clients, but each one who I met on Zoom hired me. There are plenty of VAs who do phone call interviews and discovery calls instead of video calls, but it seems very trendy to use Zoom, unfortunately. There are ways to tailor your marketing to attract clients who don't care to see you when you speak - but you will need to set that boundary over and over again if you're just responding to job opportunities on job boards. Best of luck.
I am doing training for ARISE, hey gave me a check of $5000 in my 3rd day of training! Weird?, and now (two days after,) wanted ,me to fund them $2000,! called the bank because when I was about to do it the bank blocked my account because the person I was going to send to apparently is a scam and is a FRAUD! Is this normal?
Here's a great video on spotting scam jobs! I've listed the main red flags to look out for below! Hope this helps!! facebook.com/TheVirtualSavvy/videos/304412220952212 1st Red Flag - Promise of a lot of money for hardly any work. 2nd Red Flag - Send you a check before doing any work. 3rd Red Flag - Paying a fee for work. 4th Red Flag - Is there any legit info about this Company - Do your own research. 5th Red Flag - Having a gmail email account. Most likely they will have their own domain account. 6th Red Flag - If the person posting the job opp has a new account. 7th Red Flag - If they are not interested in interviewing you or having a get together at all. You can also check the BBB to see if they are a legit business!
First, stop using the term “virtual assistant”. In 2023 it’s commonly used to refer to chat bots. Also, nobody except for the “terminally online” has even heard of a “virtual assistant”. You’re just an administrative assistant who works remotely.

I also agree that building rapport is important, more business owners appreciate it than VAs realize!
