I'm a U.S. Navy veteran. I fully respect ALL branches of military service that served our country. There's nothing wrong with heated competition that's a good thing. Makes people that much sharper. But I don't like seeing members of different service branches disrespect one another. That's wrong to me. As far as drill teams go ALL of them are great to me ! With my bumbling an stumbling they'd kick me off in less than a minute !! These folks train Very hard for long hours to do this stuff. So some one makes a mistake some times ? It's a DRILL team not combat, they can afford a mistake in this every once in a while. And would the person or persons that's never ever made mistakes in life please stand up ? The truth is we ALL make mistakes, I know I've made my fair share. So lastly what ever your branch of service Be Proud Of It !! Know that you did what many chose Not to do. Proud U.S. Navy veteran here ! God Bless you all and THANK YOU for your service !
Have to laugh the The Old Guard was established in 1784 and has served at the Tomb since 1948 without fail... But you suggested something that worked that is a laugh! Do you even believe that stuff you write? I am sue no one else does.
Theres always anxiety with big spins and tosses. Most people who dont know drill wont ever notice the small mistakes, there was a few but thats all good. Make it as unnoticeable as possible

@@Steve_Farwalker It is very possible that it was an accident. But that the American army is overwhelmed by women and homosexuals, I have heard from other sources. I was in the Old Guard for four years. While we are each partial to our own service, there is a mutual respect for each of the other four honor guards.
Reading the comments I think there is a natural built in bias for your branch of service. And that's OK. You Should be proud of your branch of service.
Thenextworldwar yeah, I completely forgot I did that, and forgot that it was on camera.. whoops, least I crushed the first catch at the end and saved it like a boss. USADT 2012-2014
@@Bisbye You have no idea what you are talking about. The fact that the Army is the Guard over the Tomb should tell you who is looked at as being the best. I doubt you served moreover served in a Guard of Honor. My Name is Eric US Army Veteran.
My home Antoine Goody got snatched from AIT to be one of these dudes bc he was six and a half feet tall (these dudes are all that height), and bc he was super squared away. You would not believe the degree of discipline these guys have to practice at all times.
I know when I saw you that time at the Tomb leading the Drill and ceremony you were so awesome and way better.. Oh wait you never did and have no idea what you are talking about, yeah I figured.
so then why do the marine corp's drill team go to Ft. Myer to be trained by these very soldiers?? (prior old guard soldier) I know for a fact that marine's as well as the other branches come to Myer to do joint training with the old guard
I don't think she did anything cause I saw her go off into the back and stand there with another person then fell back in when they exited the drill pad
Yeah, right, see how much us Marines have to spin during their drill performance. No excuses, if you want to, you can do it. See when the inspector throws the rifle back during the first inspection? I still don't know how he manages getting that rifle thrown behind his shoulder like that and at that speed it's coming at you, I still don't know how that Marine is able to catch it. Its' fucking practice, you get used to slapping that rifle around so much and dropping it during practice, you just get used to it. We were in JROTC just doing a regular spin with the M1 and one kid slipped and hit his head and it split open.
Its all on how you want your routine. Faster pace (army) uses 1903, slower (marines).. all the branches services are capable of using the m1. Its just the 1903 works better for what they want. And I know a little about drill. Ive competed on a national level and have gone to multiple drill camps. Drillong with both 1903 amd m1s
Still they could use M1's you say you've used both, I've used M1 and have practiced with bolt action and M14, any JROTC cadet knows if you can handle and M1, you can handle anything, it's the heaviest and prepares you for anything.
That says something, the announcer said, "Please cheer them on" they have to ask for a cheer, it's funny the Marines don't have to be asked to be cheered on, we automatically get one.
What's funny is in 2013 they did a test on all of our corps on everything from fitness to math, to Drill teams...guess who came first...hmm the Army * Guess who came in 7th...The Marines....
Being a Marine to each his own I guess, I'd say these guys work hard and give a nice peformance but I'd say the Marines are better. But good job Army, just I don't see why you need to take yoru covers off, why do you need to wear your chin strap, why does the announcer have to talk throughout your performance, small stuff like that.
Shut up you don't know me, did I post firewatch, you're damn right I did, did I go to Parris Island, you're damn right I did, been in for seven years I'm a Sergeant worked with the Army in Afghanistan so I have bragging rights so shut up!
I remember in high school I was on the Armed Drill team, we mimiced all our routines off of the Old Guard. I loved those days

Seeing something I had suggested the team do in their performance is awesome! Was an honor and privilege working with them last year!

The Air Force and Army Drill Teams are truly the best!!!
That was smooth. Even a couple of recoveries, but it is almost never perfect. Having a crowd makes it even more nerve racking. HOOAH

What a wonderful performance!

Awesome job gents! Lots of great changes since my day. Steve Beckner '92-'94
Thanks for your service and great drill. My father was in U.S. Army during Korean War as a Cpl.
That joker bout came up short at 10:39 . Good thing the guy stepped forward in time to catch it before it nailed the guy in front of him🤣
Those palm spins and two hands were beautiful :)
The hat fall at 8:00 was NO ACCIDENT. It was part of the drill to showcase recovery. Using a female at that.
It was an accident, but the boy was not lost

why did the army honor guard take all of the bolts out of their 1903s? just curious.
I heard that it balances it out better
Go Army 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That moment when the guy messes up but is still better than me
Hoorah! 🇺🇸 Army👍👍
That's badass!!!!!!!!!
I;m starting to like the Army;s team
excellent you guys !! Beautiful !!
They sounded awesome :o
That alignment in the beggining
The way their commanding officer's belt is positioned is bothering me.
David Pulanco
The Army really needs belt loops on the blues.
That's all i can see now lol

LEAVE. THE SITE. YOU. DONT HAVE TO LOOK AT. THEY DID NOT TELL YOU TO WATCH THEM
Eric Ditillio he’s right though, it is a little high, and not parallel to the marching surface.
You know that army soldiers bounce like crazy! LOL These must have been trained by the Marines!
so then why do the marine corp's drill team go to Ft. Myer to be trained by these very soldiers?? (prior old guard soldier) I know for a fact that marine's as well as the other branches come to Myer to do joint training with the old guard

Good Job 'Old Guard'.. HOOAH!!

Why are the bolts missing from their rifles?
I heard it balances it out better
The greatest Drill Team on 🌏....their might be a 4 armed martian👽 that spins better , but I doubt it.
The mess up at 4:24 doe.
Woah woah woah, no need for violence. Just pointing out a mistake.
Chris Childers outstanding recovery. i didnt even see it until you pointed it out.

How you going to have a chin strap on and still get your cover knocked off!!!Other than that Outstanding!!!!

A girl on the drill team?
It's the 21st century
I don't think she did anything cause I saw her go off into the back and stand there with another person then fell back in when they exited the drill pad
Laura Valenca she never made the team.
YEP YOU
Hmm, I also see how they are not even using the M1, they are using a bolt action, lighter weight, hmm.
They use a 1903 springfield. They dont use the m1 because the amount of spins and exchanges throughout their performance.

The army air Force and navy spin and toss there rifles with bayonets fixed
That says something, the announcer said, "Please cheer them on" they have to ask for a cheer, it's funny the Marines don't have to be asked to be cheered on, we automatically get one.
Don't pretend like Marines aren't some of the most arrogant and self-obsessed group of individuals ever seen on this planet.

Well I am one, and all the other services do their job just we are the best, why, we're the smallest branch with a lot more to prove.
I don't you're in the military period.
Assume job
That was kind of sloppy actually. They need to improve there basics, they''re idr is lacking
Army slacking? Have you seen the Navy.
Their performance was perfect considering the moves they just did. I'd love to see another exhibition plattong get out there and do what they just did

No, I am saying a am a Marine Corps Sergeant that's done his time, I don't need anyone questioning me.
