So...5 months later: is there a podcast? A long, informal conversation about practically anything, is what i like the best hehe

I wonder if this person got their question from the very vague kinda video I did on my channel about this. I also mentioned Atomic Habits, as well as my favourite:
The One Thing by Gary Keller.
Some people got upset with me for suggesting that you might want to structure your life around LL rather than just "fitting it in", but honestly I think if you want any sort of proper fluency, it's going to need to be life structure first.
No one would doubt me for one second if they saw the difference in how productive I am from before I was learning a language to about 2 years after I started. I do literally 6 or 7 times as much as I used to, and it's all because I started learning Swedish.
Well done on this series man, great hustle!

I'm totally looking forward to listening your podcast! I think that if you are true to yourself and what you'd like to post then the right audience will come. 😊

I usually stay up late better than I wake up early. When I get home from work I usually study for about 30 minutes and then fall asleep for an hour or so nap, and then I study a little more after i wake up. After that I enjoy my evening working out, eating dinner with my wife/kids, and then after my wife goes to sleep I stay up for another hour or so.

If this is what you want to do, then do it. If adding a social media channel adds to your portfolio and happens to support your upcoming rollout of the app, then do it. If you have other reasons why you want to do it, go ahead. But don't do it, because a few other people tell you they think you should do it, or you feel some social pressure to be active on every platform out there.
In general, I have really enjoyed your recent series here, with shorter videos that talk to a very specific topic. If videos go too long, I do find my mind wondering, or I find that I don't even start them, because I don't have the 25-30 minutes or whatever it will take. Also, longer youtube videos get harder to pay attention to, if there is not a lot of video editing and B-roll activity going on, and that is a whole other can of worms. In podcasts you don't have to do that work, but you have to work to build a new audience and that takes a lot of energy too.
On youtube, these short videos get your attention, deliver a message and at the same time they provide daily encouragement to keep going with language studies, and that is really good for all of us language learners out there. So bottom-line, I would only start podcasts, if that is really something your personally want to do at this point. Otherwise, I would rather continue with the momentum that seems to be presently coming your way over here on youtube. Of course, this is just one person's opinion, so in the end ymmv.

I've been thinking about this for ages! I'd love to hear you talk about certain language-related topics at length, either on your own or with a guest. I'd be a loyal listener for sure :)

I’ve been loving this daily series. They are the perfect length. I’d love for you to keep these going! Would a podcast take away from that? Perhaps one deep-dive podcast every couple weeks to supplement the more regular TH-cam content? Would be interesting if there was a symbiosis between the two. Perhaps a podcast is a wrap up to a burst of short content or vice versa.
But loving this steady content. Thanks so much! And excited for your review of Atomic Content.

A podcast talking about different languages, best language resources, steps on how to learn languages, tips, interviews etc would be amazing

Really enjoying your videos. It's the best thing to watch right after I wake up every day. From my personal experience I can't stress enough how important having a daily language learning routine is . I've been wanting to learn another language for 5 years now but I always gave up just a few days into starting. But, because of this lockdown I got an opportunity to get things straight and I've been studying daily for the past 40 days with a favorite resource and I'm slowly but surely seeing the progress every day. BTW, would love your podcasts and interactions :)

I would definitely enjoy a podcast as I mainly listen to them at work while at home! It really helps pass the time and do some learning.)
The longer thought form of an idea is a fun way to do the podcast, where you start with a general topic and then build off it for about 20 minutes

Hi there. Another great video of yours. Answering your question... as I'm a master of my dead time (heheh) I do prefer podcasts... long ones so that I can listen while I'm jogging. Professor X here. Stay safe.

Hi robin please make some podcasts it'll be great ! I'll be waiting for the link by the way could you make a video explaining how to study three languages at the same time already having a solid foundation in one of them ,and being intermediate in another and a complete beginner in the third ?

  • @trylinguallin1773

Podcasts would be nice. If I had creative influence on the structure of the podcast I would format it like you hanging out/interviewing either a polyglot or someone connected to languages. It would be interesting to hear two language learners talk about similarities between languages, issues with certain languages etc.

Hello Robin, thank you soooo much for your daily videos, I'm enjoying them with my morning cup of coffee.🙂 I have a question. It seems that when your English level is already fluent or at least intermediate it's much easier to practice it (I mean without a teacher), as you can find a language partner on Italki or Tandem. But what about levels A2, B1, how to practice your English speaking skills if you don't want to hire a tutor and speaking to strangers on different platforms is still too hard and awkward.
    ‌Thank you!

Hello, Robin. Your podcasts would be nice. I would prefer sometimes long and sometimes short podcasts :)) And useful topics for me or for the others maybe would be about how to learn two languages simultaneously :))

If you ask me, I'm totally fine with your videos. I like them both watching as well as just listening, so I do not really understand what makes the difference.
Maybe you would talk to guests who would not like the idea of being filmed? - anyway, I would listen to your podcasts, but I don't miss anything right now.

The issue I have is when I fall off the rhythm, I don't know how to accept it - even if it is only a 2 day lapse - without feeling down for the lack of progress made ... potential video idea for you?
Just discovered your channel btw. Takes discipline to do daily uploads (I'm struggling to do weekly uploads in Japanese)

It's a bit late, but on those slow days, have you considered doing fun things with your target language? Stuff that is low stress, that reminds you of why you are learning. Sometimes it's nice to know how far you have come.
