best tenor i ever heard in my 6 decades of existence. his vibrato is impeccable and the warmth, texture, and fullness of his voice is angelic. his legato and staccato are precise and hits each and every note with precision inspite of his unique vibrato. even with headphones on full blast, it is not irritating to the ear. for those who said LB is not flores nor blake, heard both of them, but was not impressed at all. they bored me. bravo LB.
as he is good, yes no one denies it, but I would stay calm with so many hosannas.....he is not a Juan Diego Florez nor even a Rockwell Blake....his agility is not perfect and all the variations which are d 'obligation in Rossini
He was 33 years old at this moment, old enough to be in his prime for Rossini, yet he has a bit of a goat vibratto with the coloratura sequences and his high notes are quite colourless. I think he sounds better when singing legatto and avoiding bravura passages. I could have watched him live in Sonnambula, but he didn't make it so I don't know if he's good enough in the theatre without any recording device altering the sound reality.
@@lwazidlaminibaritone I claimed to be "one of them"?? Who of them? Excuse me! I made a more than fair and sensible comment about Mr. Brownlee, we need to see if you are capable of accepting criticism, which is constructive or if, as you Americans do, you should ONLY applaud everything and everyone (just look at Americans Got Talent, the Voice, x factor etc etc) where everyone is applauded without a minimum of critical or aesthetic sense.....fortunately it doesn't work like that here....if one thing is worth it ok if one thing isn't it's said, this is not negative, on the contrary, I would say VERY positive

Is Kathleen Battle even active nowadays? I thought she was retired after upsetting some powerful musical directors and getting redflagged...
