Jonas is good in many things but he certainly is too overrated even though better him than Netrekbo. At least we overrate males that have beautiful voices despite their technique. Female opera is quite devastated by the Netretkbo effect. However there are many promising voices yet to emerge and Lisette Oropesa so far is doing a great job.
Jonas Kaufmann is not a Rossini tenor.
Both tenors are spectacular , none should be compared to the other

I think the broken leg is part of the costume because when I saw Cenerentola in Opéra Garnier last autumn,the tenor who played the Prince had a broken leg too. But I don't know why the director decided the Prince was hurt...
Lawrence Brownlee, Juan Diego Florez, Rolando Villazon, Michael Spyres -- I don't know who is better. We are lucky to have all of them with us today to enjoy their considerable talent! Who said the golden age of opera was dead?
Fritz Wunderlich and Leopold Simoneau were the predecessors of today's wonderful Mozartean singers. In particular Simoneau sang this aria with so much tenderness and artistry he has to be my fave (at the moment and subject to change as singers evolve).

Villazón? The man who wrecked his voice? He's more of a DiStefano than a Wunderlich, not on the scale of Brownlee.
@@therealmerryjest Yes, Villazon had a good voice but he always sang at 120 % of his possibilities and destroyed her voice in ten years.
