The thing, in my humble opinion, that sets your content way above many others, is your gentle, measured movement, and your wonderful warm voice. Much love from England 🏴 ❤
An old fashioned sweet shop, lovely. Take's me back to my childhood, pineapple cube's, cola cube's, uncle Joe's mint ball's, sherbet lemon's etc . I used to love watching the shop keeper weighing my quarter of sweets , then tipping them into the paper bag. Oh the anticipation 😊.
This was wonderdul! We used to have an old fashioned sweet shop like this in my city when i was a child in the 90s. We would visit in the school holidays as a treat to fill a small bag. You took me right back with this video despite the era you are recreatibg beibg my parents. Id almost forgotten about this shop...like revisiing.
There was a sweet shop like this near us in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, that my parents took me to. I then took my children and my first three grandchildren there, too. It was always the most beloved part of our trip. Sadly, it closed a few years ago. It breaks my heart, but this video gave me such good memories. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
Dear Sherri, a merry Christmas and happy New Year to you. Your attention to detail and gentle voice bring so much peace to so many people. Those clear "candy stockings" are fabulous and Mr. Peanut standing there in his saucy little pose throughout is simply marvelous. Thank you!
How absolutely lovely, Sherri! I especially enjoyed how you crinkled the paper bags and cellophane stockings! Wonderful props. May your days be merry and bright! 🌺💚❤️
Aww, thank you!! I appreciate your kind words. If you’re interested in a custom trigger video of me just opening jars (15 or 30 min), check out my community post about 3-4 posts back or email me for details at midmodmeridian@gmail.com
Oh, this one is so lovely! I've been feeling a little bit of last-minute holiday stress the past few days, so this video could not have come at a better time! We were lucky enough to have this little old-fashioned sweet shop in my hometown growing up. It was downtown right near my mom's favorite used bookstore. So, whenever she and I were running errands downtown, we'd always pop into the bookstore and browse around and then go to the sweet shop. I always used to choose those exact sugared fruit slices! It was the only place you could get them in town and they always felt so special and fancy to me as a child! This video has brought back such wonderful memories!
I have watched this over and over since you posted it. I absolutely love it, it’s just so enjoyable and the sounds of the candy on the scale I find to be just so soothing. This is my favorite that you’ve ever done but of course I love them all.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Steph!! And yeah, I can’t believe I’m closing in on that number. What??? 😂😂 Anyway, hope you have a fabulous new year with your fam. 😘
i saw the first 15 minutes of this video ( fell asleep right after ) but judging by these few minutes, this is AMAZING . its so relaxing and nice to watch. the slow movements are the best . i just found this channel too, and i'm so thankful for it . 💖
Sherri! Your thoughtful attention to detail, set design (especially with those vintage finds) and your warm cadence always comes together to make magic. Thank you so much for sharing a little bit of holiday cheer with us! I so hope to see of our new favourite Peanut Shop. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones! ❤🎄
This was so beautifully done. I didn’t know if I could handle the clang of candy on the scale but even THAT you did well. I will have to watch more later. I fell asleep before I even knew what the boy wanted! Have a happy holiday! ❤
I love this video. It is SO incredibly relaxing. So many tingles that almost put me out several times. The only reason I was able to stay awake was because I really wanted to know how it ended. You have such a lovely relaxing tone to your voice as well. This was hardcore ASMR.
Sugar tax must have been minimal in the 60s/70s.. Nice to see those stockings with snowflakes and things on them again. One of my best friends had her birthday mid to late November and we were always presented with one at her party. ❤❤🍬🍬🍭❄❄
Let’s talk about boiled sweets, pear drops and humbugs. I still love humbugs. How about black balls that turn different colours. You’d get a small bag for a penny. Oh the memories.
I love your videos Sherri and this one is especially tingly. You have such a calm measured way of speaking which is mesmerising. Sweet shops never lose their magic do they? As a child of the 60s I so enjoyed this. Happy Christmas from the U.K. and thank you for getting me to sleep this year, which has been tough personally. 🎄🎄😘🎁☃️🍬
What a wonderful video! So relaxing! Where do you get all your props? Do you collect them over time before the video? Your video props are always so detailed and on point for the content! I love it!
I was enjoying this so much until you asked if her husband knows about this little treat. Really? He's going to object to his wife eating 2 little pieces of candy or spending 5 friggin cents? Maybe you're trying to be authentic? I get that in the sixties that joke would be considered cute, but today it's tone-deaf and gross.
Ima go out on a limb here and say that comment was simply part of some harmless, authentic, mid-sixties banter- just as many of the other, era-specific references on this channel reflect the (unfortunate) misogynistic aspects of our society at that time. It’s kinda like watching a channel that specializes in Victorian-era reenactments and then getting big mad at dialogue that indicates women shouldn’t wear pants, no?
@gonetocarolina-wb5do you're probably right, I see your point, and I get it, but THIS particular comment just struck me as unnecessary, I guess? It doesn't add anything, and it's triggering for people who've been in abusive relationships before (where one's husband controls every little purchase, makes comments about every sweet treat, etc.) This is probably a me problem and not really a her problem, I just hate that it kinda ruined an otherwise soothing experience for me. 😞
I get that- and I’m sorry that you (or anyone) has had to experience that😞 I have the same reaction when I hear similar comments in the ‘real world’- just seemed like an authentic comment for a 60s role play, but I can’t say for sure… I’m not here for the dialogue- just to check out the props and to let Ruthie’s voice put me to sleep 😂 ❤️❤️❤️

Your videos are so carefully crafted. I can tell you not only put in a lot of effort but a fair amount of expense, too. Thanks so much!
You're very welcome. 😌 And I appreciate the support so much. Merry Christmas!! 🎄
The thing, in my humble opinion, that sets your content way above many others, is your gentle, measured movement, and your wonderful warm voice. Much love from England 🏴 ❤
What a wonderful thing to say. I really appreciate that. Much love from across the Atlantic. 🎄🎄
