    Angus Young, Bon Scott and Phil Rudd doing "Let there be rock" live, actually blew my teenage mind.

    They were going to do an EP after Dirty Deeds, using the songs they recorded in England, Cold Hearted Man, Carry Me Home, Dirty Eyes, Love At First Feel. LTBR was a step up. I think they needed the threat of being dropped from the label to push them to greatness. Fave album except maybe for Powerage?

    The movie version of this smokes! Really love If you want Blood live as well (LP). Had all of the Bon era records and loved them all. There is something about their 70's act that has been lost since but can be seen and heard in all it's glory right here. The circus tent sideshow vibe of old cannot be denied.

    My 2nd favorite after Powerage (and, honestly, I go back and forth). The guitar tones on this record are BEASTLY. And Bon...holy shit, Bon. The guy was just the absolute best lyricist and frontman. 🤘

    ACDC changed my life….and Van Halen became it…..OG VH, but I love Brian Johnson too, the man epitomizes power when he sang, the rasp left over from all those years and albums, and smokes….well still kicking it! Love that whole band other than Dave Evans, as he was like the Sammy of ACDC…..like when Brian hurt his ears, Dave starts singing Brian songs(sounding like Quiet Riot) that he was never around for….whats with the coattail hanger ons? Geez!
    ACDC and VH…..they have changed lives! Awesome review Ralph! Hell yes! ❤

    Great timing. I've just watched the Rock Goes To College gig earlier tonight. I flip between LTBR and Powerage as the best, but thinking LTBR wins. Through the years I've always thought all but 2 of the classic tracks are the best 1 on the album ( Crabsody and Rosie - my god shows how awesome this album is when I've never thought this was the best!). And yes Phil's drumming is incredible. His use of the cymbals to add to the guitars! Just watch LTBR closing the Rock Goes to college - the metronome. A hammer. I'm lucky I saw AC/DC in 1978, and Roth in 1979, DLR just pips Bon as greatest front man. Again watching the college gig, it's Bons sheer presence and power of his expressions that connect with everyone and made him a magnet. Great episode Ralph. Couldn't said it better myself.

    I love Let There Be Rock. It is truly a masterpiece. I have to admit, I was really hoping you would of brought up KISS just so I could hear you say, “Paul Thtanley of KITH”. That’s one of my favorite TH-cam lines of all time.

    I think this is the album where Angus' amp blew up or something and it added to the sound during the recording

  • @ChrisStokes07

    Sweaty, dirty, nasty, rock. It's truly the sound of the band reaching It's peak. For me LTBR is just a hair better than Powerage.

    Great, stand-out album, especially for that time. Bassist Mark Evans is alive & active. AC/DC should have brought him back for their tour. Instead they got the guy from Alanis Morissette's emo pop band. Lame!!

      @philipholmes5884 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree how lame is that...? I'm sure he woulda gone for it...but not Angus...too bad ...my favorite era of AC-DC is with Mark on bass ! Best stuff in my opinion !

    Yer right Ralph...Rudd rules!! He's sorely missed on this tour. Simon Wright is closest to his feel & sound, in my opinion.
