Hey all! A little behind the scenes: I finally upgraded my camera after SEVEN YEARS!! The last one was giving me so many problems with the color looking true-to-life, as well as autofocus. But, I'm still getting used to the settings on this one (why it's taken me a while to get this video out). Please leave any feedback on how you think the video looks as a reply to this comment!
My favorite "affordable" lip oil is the Ulta Beauty in-house brand - juice infused lip oil. At the drugstore, I prefer the Milani (and have been a fan of the Cover Girl Yummy Gloss.) Looking forward to trying Elf's new formula!

I wasnt a huge fan of the NYX lip oil. It feels too goopy. Very few people talk about them, but the Ulta beauty collection juice infused lip oils are so good and hydrating.
I also love the og ulta lip oils. They were ahead of their time years ago! Way before the trend. Would love to try Elf but peppermint is irritating on my lips. I wish less brands would add it to lip products.
Was gonna say I've tried the elf (honey talks) and cover girl yummy gloss (but first a cosmo) until i realized the cover girl is a gloss lol self, its in the name! But those 2 are probably what i reach for other than a lipstick after applying a lip liner. Only issue I've had is that the elf isn't really travel friendly, even in daily makeup bag. It leaks and gets onto everything, so it ends up only being used once before i leave for work, which leaves me without throughout the day 😕 anywho's thats my thoughts. i have the fruit fetish milani lip oil (i’m actually wearing it rn) and i personally think it’s a bit sticky (it gets caught in my hair often) and does wear off very quickly, while also feeling a little heavy. it’s not really for me, bcuz i have mild sensory issues, and don’t really like wearing makeup, so if u share that issue, i wouldn’t go for it. speaking about not lasting that long, i would also not recommend wearing it to school, like i did. thanks for the review tho! i think i will try either the lottie lip oil or color pop ❤️

Very informative! I didn't even know there were tinted lip oils until this video. I really liked the one layered over the lip liner, great idea. I've only used one once in the past and it was marketed as a skin care product, no tint. I found it did make me start to break out after regular wear (put it on nightly before bed) on the edge of my lips. Is this something you've experienced? Are lip oils just meant to be worn less often? Or is my skin just that cranky? :p
With them varying so much in formula, there could easily have been irritating ingredients that you're sensitive to. Especially when it comes to added fragrance, or even certain oils, it could have caused what you're experiencing. You may want to try again, but look at the ingredients in the one you used to use and maybe avoid similar oils!
Could've been an ingredient in that particular lip oil. I wear my lip oils all hours of every day. Although at night I normally put on a lip treatment or thicker lip balm so my lips are being nourished and hydrated through the night, but I've never experienced any type of irritation from a lip oil. I hope you find one that works for you because they're beautiful to wear throughout the day without having to apply an actual lipstick or something like that.

It’s just a different type of product! Lip oils can give the shiny finish of a lip gloss but are designed nourish and moisturize while you wear them. Many people wear them with lighter makeup looks for that hint of color while getting the benefits, but they are easy to also wear with makeup if you choose one with a bit stronger color (like elf or Milani). A lip oil would work better into a makeup look vs a plain lip balm. Think of it as an alternative to gloss with the skin care like benefits.
Fat oil was just a gloss to me not worth the money better to stick to the butter gloss. Elf is soo not worth the hype the peppermint destroyed it in my opinion. Milani is my next favorite after the ulta beauty juice infused
I wasn’t going to purchase the elf lip oil because I have a bunch of others including Dior. But I tried it anyway and I love it!!! Almost more than Dior. Elf and Milani are my favs for sure. The essence one is so bad tasting/smelling 👎🏻 The cover girl yummy gloss is pretty nice. 👍🏻 I felt the same as you about the Nyx. It’s just ok but I wouldn’t buy another.
Sooo NYX fat oil lip drip is NOT labeled as a lip gloss. It is a lip oil. Does it feel like hybrid between a lip oil and lip gloss, yes. But it is NOT marketed as a lip gloss. I'm not sure where you saw that but it's inaccurate.

Milani is 100% my favorite. The ELF is fine but definitely second to Milani.
I think Milani is a good Goldilocks lip oil- right down the middle and just right when it comes to consistency and pigmentation!

Essence came out with new lip oils
I actually don’t like lip oils. The closest thing I like is the Rohto Mentholatum Melty Cream lip balm. It also has SPF in it. 👍🏻
