Designers don't use colored pencil as the main medium, just for detail work. Colored pencils take too long. Practicing with cheap markers would be more useful until you can afford better. Copics are very expensive, and they're nice but you don't need them to be good at markers.

hi! how can on render colored fur over black coat as black dosent let anything show? i tried using black promarkers and for fur i used staedler triplus fineliner
+Sneha Mohata You're just going to have to not color the area under the fur. If you have a red fur collar on a black coat, you have to leave the whole collar blank and then color the collar with red only.
