    Free software to consider:
    - Inkscape for thumbnails
    - iMoive for video editing on Mac
    - Shotcut for video editing on PC
I have tried using Adobe products and they were amazing (when I had the free software with my last University).
Thanks for pushing the extra mile to communicate science on TH-cam! I am a big fan of your work!

You inspire us so much!!! Just shared this with a grad student on our team who is keen to start making some of her own videos on plastic topics, we hope to list them on our channel in the near future. Keep up the amazing content Imari.

I have literally been wanting to start a channel for almost 5 years! I wanted everything to be perfect and I think that was the issue that was preventing me. Then I thought who cares, lets go. Great info😁🤣

I am a science enthusiast and a mol bio PhD too, want to start my TH-cam channel on science and tech however I don’t have any clue if I can take video clips off the internet cos ethically that’s not correct and many have copyright issues as well so can you pls guide me through it as I am intending on doing it on latest science and research backed novel ideas but am just too afraid to make the move cos of the above mentioned issues

Hey There! Congrats on doing a PHD and for starting your SciComm journey! I personally don’t have as much experience with taking clips off the internet for videos. I try my best to make all of my own content to avoid the copy right issues. Perhaps start with just talking about research on TH-cam and maybe find someone interested in doing some design or animation with you.

@@imariwalker thankyou 🙂 yea working on animations is a bit daunting when I think about it but then I think I can pull it off by myself initially and once it starts growing (if it does, will try my best to put out good content) then maybe hire someone to work along. Btw you’re doing great and love your content, cheers to women in STEM 🎉

Eventually, people will get bored of Physics youtube and these baby engineering channels will grow.

I’m hoping so as well! Will just keep it up in the meantime! Appreciate all the support!
