Sorry, it's the Teddy Ruxpin reference for me. The sheer audacity of dredging up a pop culture relic that only a tiny sliver of the population is aware of must be applauded. Plus it's true.
It's possibly the best button on an improv scene I've ever seen in my fucking life. Like I replayed it maybe 20 times it was so out of left field yet perfectly in line with the character in the scene. Holy shit one of the funniest fucking things
@@calebmurphy9406 i think its probably that people usually associate "yikes" with mild-bad revelations. e.g. "sarah actually likes pineapple on pizza." "yikes!" such a reply to "our friend has a crippling heroin addiction" spoken so sincerely is beautiful cognitive dissonance/lack of situational awareness
Never not thinking about the time Anthony Jeselnik told Pete (wearing a purple shirt, purple tie and orange pants) that was dressed like the CEO of a pumpkin patch.
Years of Pete getting roasted by fellow comedians(Fan of the Pete Holmes Show, watch the reruns its greats) to then watch him flip the script is great.
Go back to the end of the sketch where Pete (as Batman/Badman) works in the College Humor office from 10 years ago for two more Sam roasts, including “You look like the TA for a female sexuality class at Vassar”.
As a musical theatre geek, I would honestly take it as a compliment if someone said "you look like the major in a town where everyone sings". I would probably also sigh longingly just because being a major in a town where everyone sings sounds like a dream job, it sounds much more fullfilling than my real jobs. My I want song in real life would probably be " I want to live in a musical, I want to live where there's singing, dancing" sung to the same melody as Part of your world ;)
@@shadearion That's fair. There are absolutely towns I would never willingly visit also, like if there were a town where you always had to run from something big that was absolutely willing to kill you or a town that was filled to the brim with wasps and if you ever panicked around them you were thrown in jail.
Pete Holmes is a terrible comedian. Unless he's roasting the shit out of someone. Roasting the shit out of Sam especially. My god these clips destroyed me.
When I first watched this I was really upset about all these comments because I didn't really understand the relationship between the two of them. I wish you had roasted him for things he had done and not the way he looks for some of them. It just felt like cruel punch down Seinfeld comedy
I appreciate Pete holding back on the Sam prompt because you can clearly tell he has something but goes "let me not ruin this friendship today"
You can also clearly tell that Sam was expecting something much worse.
Fo' realz...
Lemme check that pre-edit tho...
"a mayor in a town where in everyone sings" was lethal actually
Sam looks like a guy who really, really wants a park full of dinosaurs.
Ewok Ellen DeGeneres was the most savage, accurate roast I've ever heard.
I died at the one. Omg 😂😂
Mayor of a town where everyone sings, and Wild West guy who sells potions that don't work were also remarkably on point.
"Were you also the coolest RA?" absolutely sends me.

@@rory_pond1701 Perhaps if I knew of Teddy Ruxpin, I would be inclined to agree.
Josh absolutely losing it every single time really makes this bit.
That’s the difference between actual comedians and wannabes
Even Zac the comedy sniper has only once really made Josh fall out laughing, but Pete just kept riddling him like a machine gunner.
I love how they had a Roast Sam prompt lined up, like they expected Pete to wait until then..
Nothing on Make Some Noise has sent me quite like "YIKES!" I was crying laughing.
I simply had to include it, I was crying actual tears. 😂

@@calebmurphy9406 the "full short" (if you can say that) is on the channel
Did I miss the one "You look like a prize in a box of Grape Nuts?"
Yes, looks like I missed one!
Just one after the other for half an hour 😅
I love that Pete defeated Sam, not only by insulting him, but giving him such good insults that it compelled Sam to join in the improv
Never not thinking about the time Anthony Jeselnik told Pete (wearing a purple shirt, purple tie and orange pants) that was dressed like the CEO of a pumpkin patch.
that is golden!! anthony jeselnik is one of my faves. Pete holmes too!
Sam's Giamatti is pretty spot on!
For the mayor of a town where everyone sings!
It was VERY good. Wasn't expecting that at all.
You can really tell that Sam and Pete are genuinely old friends by how much Pete mercilessly roasts the shit out of Sam
I mean can you really call yourself a friend if you haven't roasted them hard enough to make a chef jealous?
These two clearly go all the way back. Pete Holmes played Batman in the OG CollegeHumor Dark Knight parody series, he’s goated
Holy crap!! He’s that guy?!?!
WHAT?! He’s THAT Batman?! Seriously?
@@iitstre_4550 The very same
Knew I recognized those intensely exaggerated lips
OH SHIT, MR. "Is it....helicopters?" HIMSELF
I saw someone comment "Sam looks like he's selling a monorail to Hobitton" and I haven't been able to think about anything else since.
The mayor joke had me dying. I could see Sam marching out during a musical number 🤣
They gotta have Pete for the inevitable Dropout Presents: The Roast of Sam Reich
You left out the most savage one, "you look like the prize in a box of Grape Nuts."
My bad!
I love how much Josh is LIVING for this bit
The three of them go way back so there probably isn’t any one else on that stage that would love the verbal obliteration of Sam more then Josh
Caitlin asking Pete to roast her, the look on her face when he wouldn't, is just like, "Coward".
I thought she looked like a white woman trying to make the fun moment about her.
I did it. I roasted her. Am I brave?
A boy pretending to be a girl pretending to be a boy.
Caitlin’s Sam impression is hysterical
It sounds just like he looks 👏
Josh should have gone with “I’ve been here the whole time!”
So is her rubber body dance in the end credits.
She was too cute.
@@VivaLaDnDLogs SHE CAN REALLY DANCE!
the cut from josh and pete hugging to caitlin doing that odd, standing up worm dance KILLED me

the MSN and VIP shorts/comps these last two months finally broke me to resub
It’s the “YIIIIiKES!!” that gets me every time. 🤣
Caitlin’s blank expression and dance at the end 👌🏻
"What do I look like Pete?"
His answer should have been "A young Christine Baranski cosplaying as Dora the Explorer"
“were you also the coolest RA?”
0:55 uh... she looks like Scarlett Witch's valley girl cousin, the Beige Enchantress
"What do I look like, Pete?"
"A snack."
":O"
Pete Holmes is a goddamn virtuoso when it comes to roast jokes. Man, the sheer creativity. Genius!
NPC voice in question: th-cam.com/video/-hl6EedJ7wM/w-d-xo.html
Are we absolutely sure? It doesn't sound anything like him.

San Andreas came out in 2004, so it makes sense that his voice at 40 sounds a bit different than it did at 20.
"I see nothing wrong with feudalism." - Sam Reich
So that's why Sam's starting Dropout Amaerica
3:13 Me when I check in on what my family has been posting online
I’ve never seen a man be so brutally accurate before
I know this video is about the mayor of a city where everyone sings, but I was completely entranced by Caitlyn the entire episode.
Sam does look like a human Teddy Ruxpin.
The “yikes” killed me 😂
Can't believe Pete held back saying "I still don't acknowledge you" after receiving his trophy
This whole episode is top tier. Pete Caitlin and Josh all KILLED IT!
Josh absolutely dying is amazing.
Pete sounds a lot like John Ritter to me. Saw him in a Buffy the Vampire episode recently. (Never knew about his eye until this year.)
If Zach is a comedy sniper, then Pete is a comedy machine gunner.
The Teddy Ruxpin joke was just...perfect.
I hadn't known was a GTA San Andreas NPC, and I got as far as "Sam R" in the TH-cam search bar before Autocomplete knew EXACTLY what I wanted to see.
Pete was dragging Sam like a fucking Uhaul, holy shit.
Can you imagine the nice things he says about Sam behind his back?
thanks for including those freaky lil interstitials
“Here’s the thing… I can see it too” 😂😂
I believe the day they taped this Brennan Lee Mulligan was smiling all day without knowing why.
god how are they all so accurate??
I'm still miffed the Pete Holmes Show isn't a thing anymore. It's been years.
That was Paul Giamatti playing Heath Ledger's Joker
I love Game Samer
best contestant on this show ever
If you enjoyed this, you should search for Pete Holmes interviewing Anthony Jesselnik. 👍
And really every monologue ever from the Pete Holmes show
He READ HIM FOR FILTH from start to finish and I was CACKLING
Pete hosting make some noise with Sam as a contestant.
Roast Some Sam
I love the crew losing their minds in the background.
the teddy ruxpin roast was insane
3:27 Pete Holmes is only 3 inches shorter than Grant O'Brien.
They should do this for a game changer episode. Everyone just roasts Sam and whoever does the best one gets a point

I love how the crew lost it on the Teddy Ruxpin joke
Caitlin's snobby WASP Karen impressions left me completely unprepared for how needily flirtatious she is.

Sam Reich looks like Teddy Ruxpin before puberty.
Sam looks like he sells real estate for the lollipop guild

"I hit him with my car and feel nothing."
Pete was on fire, and Sam got burned.

here i am with a GED glad im not on stage
Somebody ask Pete if that's an Alf reference or a Teddy Ruxpin reference. He's old enough that it could be either.
Sure would be great if Dropout got all the views from the content they produce, pay to produce and put out on platforms for people to watch.
Could we get an ACTUAL roast of Sam? Like coffins and all?
Can someone explain the "Paul Giamatti using Scope" joke? I'm guessing it's a US thing.
What's ERT?
Emergency Remote Teaching, possibly.
online consensus seems to be Estrogen Replacement Therapy
So, I guess they allow snuff films on TH-cam now, 'cuz that was an actual homicide.
