I am new to your channel and I could listen to you talk all day……your accent is just beautiful. When I was a young child I used to listen to different accents and was able to imitate them…not always appreciated by my parents. Your coloring is amazing! I am subscribing! Here I am listening to you and I find I have this huge smile going on. Mr. James….God you bring so much joy doubled with being a great colorist, talking a mile a minute with an amazing sense of humour. I am laughing my head of about Mr. James. You are the best!

I’m really loving the new format of the channel now that you are trying to cover both coloring and more traditional art. I’m really interested both and this is one of the only channels I’ve been able to find that addresses both and is by far my favorite one that I’ve found. I truly hope you’ll be able to keep this format.

I'm glad you are enjoying it, but I've always covered both, right from the beginning. I do sway between the two to varying degrees depending on what mood I'm in, but I generally try to keep a balance.

    Definitely turquoise for the water.
The page is looking fabulous. I was so excited to see that the video was a tiny bit longer than usual so I had more Gem to color along with.

I think you should go with the turquoise colours for the water. And I'm going to be waiting patiently for the next video. I really love watching this picture coming together :)

Always a fun time to be had coloring with Gem! I guess I missed the question about watercolor? I did see a couple of comments about it so I believe you should vary it a bit, go from dark blue in the distance to light blue or a turquoise in the pond with the swans? I found your stories enjoyable if not exciting, sometimes life just is and we just muddle through and we are neither better nor worse for it. I remember getting the Wii and how my Dad would stand up to bowl! He did better than the rest of us but he is a better bowler too! So even without a VR Headset video games can get your heart rate up! Looking forward to the next installment of your/our coloring odyssey! Be safe over there and take care.

Definitely turquoise for the water! Need to break up all that red. I am glad the pups are feeling better! I do however have to disagree about the VR headset thing. So here's the thing. We fear that new technology is going to harm our kids and instead we potentially hinder their adaptation. When I was young...a moment ago(geologically speaking), I was one of the first people I knew of to have a computer. There was no research about it back then. No screen time studies...and really very few manuals. Back then we learned from each other. It gave me a leg up on learning technology. Now that is my career. Something that would not have been possible if my parents stopped me from using my computer. They were unhappy about how much time I spent with the thing but I kinda put it down to an education. If we stop kids from having access to new technologies like VR because we don't know what effect they will have on them we might just interfere natural adaptation to the future. What we might do instead of protecting them is to stunt their growth. Who knows, your friends 10 year old might figure out how to do something really neat in VR that might help him get a future job! I think that so long as it's kept within reason, let the kids have it. Their brains are so malleable and their boundaries unlimited they may well figure out things we are too set in our ways to think of. I know it was that way for me.

I see your point on technology (I was exactly the same) but I just feel there is a huge jump between what we experienced - we all watched TV before computers became mainstream, and the computer was an interactive version of that. Moving into VR is a completely different beast, and having experienced it for a while now, I'd be wary of letting my kids use it (if I had any, and especially younger children). It augments so much about you as you are using it, and is naturally far more immersive than using a traditional computer. I do also agree though that moderation is key, and I feel the same way about kids and screen time generally. I think it could be put to really good use, but it's maybe just a bit early to be buying 10-year-olds VR headsets until we know a little more about the impacts.

@@TheColourCave @The Colour Cave I get your point but here's where our experiences probably differ. I have had to teach people to use technology and seen how not knowing it has held them back. You find it disorienting and different because it is! This is novel to your brain. And because you are an adult. Even an adult open to new experiences! But children absorb and process this kind of thing more naturally and don't get the same disorientation. If they are exposed when they are young. While they are still at the stage of life that they don't have too many expectations of reality. I will give you a simple example. When my brother first got my mom an iPhone, she could not get the slide to unlock feature. It took her months to be comfortable with it. A friend's one year old just did it. No one taught him. He did it because there was no expectation of him not being able to do it. And then went on to do things with the phone that were completely unexpected. This is what happens when you expose kids to technology early. They absorb and normalize what is and begin to look at what it can be. We are bogged down with expectations of reality, they are not. So I think not exposing kids and letting them normalize new tech is a severe enough disadvantage that it overwrites any potential downsides that they might experience. Their future is going to be so much about augmented reality, heads up displays and other digital intrusions that letting them see this now, will open the world to them.

I am very glad to hear the pups are doing better! It's always bad when our pets aren't feeling well.
Water, I like turquoise but I am wondering if it could be some of both?....
It's coming out really well it will be sad to see it end, but also exciting to see what is next. I hope you do another color along. I have seen a couple of new Christmas books, it's early but I hope there is something Christmasy this year too. lol
Everything seems more depressing atm, maybe because Covid is still a problem, so I don't think I am craving Christmas really, just something not just beautiful but really really cheerful maybe.....

A greenish turquoise??? What about any sky reflection or no? I truly hope Pip is on the mend! I lost 2 of my pups this year and it almost broke me 💔 I love all of your videos, and it really doesn't matter the content as it feels like a visit with a friend to me, just chatting. The picture is turning out great!
