I love the loop coaster. I’ve extended the track a little bit and made it a bit more spacey with some parts from the space coaster. I send 3 classic spacemen around it almost daily
One thing I would consider when buying for people who have loads of Lego so you are worried about duplicates is that some sets you can have more than one of and turn it into something new and cool. I have seen people on TH-cam doing good things with multiple Lego Stores and with multiple of the Modern House set as well.
This is why I like to get the 3-in-1 sets as even if the person already has a set, they can make one of the other two options. It has happened to me a few times with the kids I have nannied when they get another one of the set I have got them at their birthday party/from another family member, though I do try to check what they are getting from their immediate family before purchasing. The creative boxes are so much fun, definitely my kind of Lego.
I think the tales from the space age set is another great one - relatively cheap, looks cool and you can do it as a family because its the four different bits. If youve got a kid into space stuff id be all over it

Kev - You missed off the Fender Stratacaster - Perfect for muso dads, and looks great on display........... Also you missed off the Mahoooooooooosive Technic sets, which have like 10,000000000000 cogs and black pins and gears to geek over. I too have the Home Alone set - good spot with the 24 bags thing! Also, The 3in1 "Main street set" is exclusive to lego S@H, so very hard to find anywhere else at all, unless you get online, or to an official LEGO store.
@@blockpartyuk Not as niche as you would think - It's always in the top 5 themes when LEGO publishes its sales data. But I do see what you mean. But some kids like all that techy stuff, as the sets often have a lot of functions, and usually are 2in1 models. So better value than you'd think at first glance.

The Harry Potter one looks amazing for Christmas I like the stars wars Lego as well

Starting to plan out and research ideas for my own lego city, are the lego friends builds minifig compatible or are they a different scale?
They’re the right scale, but they’re open back so you’ll need to make some adjustments to use them in a Lego city

70quid for the heli carrier is a piss take. It’s tiny.
It’s roughly the same size and price as the Xmen ship and the smallest Millenium Falcon. It seems a far price for that size of licenced ship.

Not sure I’d recommend a technic set to anyone you’re not very sure enjoys technic - it’s quite niche I think. The guitar is a great shout.
