Thank you for this tutorial! I’ve been looking at it on your website but hadn’t started it yet. I just finished your men’s beanie (3x1 ribbing all the way up). My tension was a little tight so going to do it again and relax a bit. Lol I also just finished your knit “bat” hat but I made mine without the bat. So next I will attempt this one. Thank you so much for all the time you put into your patterns. As still a beginner knitter I really appreciate it. 💕
Wonderful tutorial, thank you for not assuming the viewer is an absolute beginner. I've finished 2 flat projects and I think I'm ready to start knitting some clothes, so this is a nice not overly beginner-friendly tutorial
It's easier to use circular needles because you are going in round. Straight needles are flat knitting. You can divide the stitches evenly among double pointed knitting needles and knit as you would circular needle with 5th dpn as straight needles. Hopefully this help.
It is simple purl and knit stitch. The only way that would be “too much” for a beginner is if you haven’t learned either of these stitches. Which at that point all you need to be focusing on is making some sort of simple dishcloth with just knit/purl stitches. Your lack of practice doesn’t make this an above beginner project.

I'm so happy to help! Knitting hats is my absolute favorite type of project, and I'm glad you're enjoying them too! 💙
Thank you so very much for that! It was my first knitted hat and your instructions were perfect for beginner ❤🙏🏽
