4NB was booked to play a small park in Cincy just before they hit it big. The song exploded, and 10,000 people showed up to that little park. It was overwhelmed.
It was the One Earth Party that Q102 sponsored in Eden Park. It was almost canceled when the police shut it down for a while because the crowd was getting out of hand. We/They calmed down and the show went on. I remember walking for over a mile to get back to the car and then sitting in traffic for over an hour to get out of there because my ex had to pee and she was a little irate at the time.😅
@@TripletDad3 Yes, Eden Park! You're the first commenter I've seen who was there!
Dman I saw no doubt and ramstein before they blew up, its fun
@@Glaaki13 For me it was Phish. I first heard of them in 1987 from posters at UVM where I was a frosh. I met my first fan, a girl on my floor, while a frosh. I started listening in 1990. Saw my first show at Barre VT in 1991. My first shows were in small venues and clubs until summer 1993 when the venues got bigger.
@@cshubsyes its fun unless you are a mega fan, I have that with some band but they are political
Yeah this is the original song. Linda Perry is a great songwriter and you will definitely have heard plenty of her songs that she's written for other artists such as Pink, Christina Aguilera, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Osbourne and Alicia Keys.
Thanks Millie! Singer-songwriter Linda Perry ... if you needed a role-model for a life in the music industry, go no further. Amazingly talented, but also successful producing and running record labels. This song from 4 Non-blondes only album (I think), but a big hit and very much fun to play on guitar.
and probably most successful as a songwriter... check out her songwriting credits which include songs for Adele, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, etc...
Capitalism has been very good for her,,,,,😳😳😳
@@LordEagle If that's your take then I can't imagine what you've completely missed when listening to other music.
@@laserpanda94 she's a card carrying socialist. 🤣🤣🤣
@@LordEagle Socialists like money too
I don’t quite know how or why, but this song just always manages to put me in a good mood.
Check out her interview on Howard Stern. She is "persuaded" by Howard to sing some of this. No warm up, has a pick in her pocket and busts this out at the top of her voice. Linda Perry is a living legend that stays very much below the radar.
Truly amazing vocal power from a 5’3” singer. Rock on Linda!
The Firm - "Satisfaction Guaranteed"
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Paul Rogers(Bad Company) vocals
Jimmy Page(Led Zeppelin) guitar
Great reaction
Linda Perry is still a legend. She quit singing to become a music producer. And is super successful. When I was a kid I wore out her record. I was sad she quit her band, but happy she followed her dream helping new talent find success. Perhaps you could research her career a bit on your next reaction of her. Very inspiring and people should know
The best reaction Ive been already seen about this music around 5 years seeing reactions.... thanks🎉😂❤😊
Dolly Parton & Linda Perry (lead singer & writer) just released a cover of this song with Dolly singing & Linda playing guitar. They updated a few of the lyrics but otherwise didn't change much. The video is on Dolly's channel & there are even some throw backs to this video in the new video.
When this came out, my girlfriend at the time (don't ask) who really never showed much interest in music said she loved this song. When it would come on the car radio, she would crank up the volume. The only other she liked from that time was "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks. This may have been a one-hit wonder for the band, but Linda Perry did so much more in the music industry.
Back in 93 i was working at a comic book store and this song was all over the place in the radio...
You really cracked some corn with that one. Great song has had over a Billion views.
Linda Perry is so amazing from this son to Dear Mr. President and also the songs she wrote for Pink she needs to be put back in the forefront of songwriters
Great tune. I never even heard it until a few years ago (wasn't big on radio) but it sure makes my playlist now.
Huh, wasn't big on radio? Here in Germany it was absolutely impossible to not hear this song at least twice a day on most radio channels...
@@VoodooMcVee
I was referring to the fact that I didn't listen much to the radio back then.
@@HeavyMetalBluegrass Oh, _you_ weren't big on radio, got ya. Neither was I but I still couldn't escape that song (and many othters). It was enough to just have a radio somewhere nearby.
Buy the album "Bigger, Better, Faster, More"
I wonder if you would like the song "Feed the Tree" which is another 90's indie song. The band's name is Belly. In the meantime, this song "What's Up" was played on my 25th birthday and I remember thinking that the song rang so true for me! It is such a good song!
Great Reaction! Hey if you're a BassPlayer I highly recommend little Jaco Pastorius with Weather Report & Solo work. Jaco took off all the frets and changed history of Jazz Fusion
Awesome review! Pretty funny i never heard the original version until last year online. Only heard the "club" dance version growing up.
I got fired and kicked out on the street and was homeless for a little while due to this song! A girl who worked at one of the movie theaters I worked for looked like her somewhat and I was in love! I asked her out and she said yes till I told her about this and she got mad. She told her secret boyfriend (my manager) about it and I got fired for sexual harasment 2 days later. Hard to hear this song and not worry about ending up on the street again but I love it!
Nostalgia your joy in old music Millie is so cool ❤❤
Linda's voice is unique, so powerful, the album, which I think is called Bigger, Better, Faster, More has a steam locomotive on it which is not quite as powerful as her voice.
And its a great album'
You like 90's music, try Echobelly
I highly recommend you to react to Stay by Shakespeare's sisters. This song was on repeat on MTV back in the 90's.
Yes!!!!
She brings the words "Lead Vocals" to a new meaning.
I've always dug this song.
Hello, I'm a fan of yours who lives in Brazil, I've been following you for a while and I really like your reactions! I wanted to suggest a band that was very popular in my country, the name of the band is "Charlie Brown junior", especially the song "Don't let the sea swallow you" or the song called "Rubão". Greetings from Brazil🇧🇷
this was a HUGE Song back in the day it was EVERYWHERE and everyone used to sing to it.... good memories..
As a Bay Area / San Francisco resident my whole life, I used to see Linda around a lot. She has always kicked ass
No better feeling than finally discovering the band behind your favorite song. Especially a video, your reaction is great. Thank you for this. I love this song.
Lead singer of Sarah Gilbert partner.
I knew you would dig this one Millie. You look great.
What's up Millie or should I say what's going on.😁 After this total banger...and that voice...I never understood why Linda didn't have more success as a singer. She is however in the Songwriters HOF. Sick reaction to a sick song!🔥🙌🤘
A very simple answer, she did not want more success she prefers being in the background. She said she never really enjoyed her time in the limelight. She just wants to write great songs.
@@headingley72 ah, good to know. A very simple thank you.
I'm 43 years old now and I'm still love 90s song
I had the same reaction, I knew the song but didn’t know who sang it or the name of the song. Love the song too.
4 Non Blondes featured on “Encomium” in the 90’s, a tribute album of big name bands covering Led Zeppelin songs.
Their version of “misty mountain hop” is an absolute banger, better than the zeppelin original even !! Linda Perry rocks 👊
I've always loved this song
Linda Perry (the band's singer) became quite important in the music world and produced or composed songs for Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Adele, Courtney Love, Celine Dion, Kelly Osbourne, Adam Lambert, James Blunt, Jewel, Alicia Keys, Sugababes, Robbie Williams, Melissa Etheridge, Gavin Rossdale, Lisa Marie Presley and Enrique Iglesias, among others.
She is among the composers of Aguillera's "Hurt" and "Beautiful."
Im listening to music since 1958 Linda Perry has one of the greatest voices I've ever heard. Love the song, great from start to finish. Yes. It was out in 1993.
linda perry is possibly the most important person in music history for hte last 30 - 35 years :)
This tune is always new for more than 30 years!
trimakasih mba millie, ini mengingatkanku kembali ke tahun90 an,sewaktu saya tumbuh menjadi pemuda dengan gaya 90 an.
It’s got nearly 2 billion views on YT. Crazy.
Great reaction Millie
This is just old school ...THE BEST MUSIC!!!🎶🎼
Great voice!
The 4 Non Blondes was one of my Faforites back in the 90s but there are more to figurit out ot 90s music i would love to see more. Thank you for that video. I was also a Fan of the Cranberries, Alanis Morrisett.
Where you the one playing Crazy Ball on Psycho Goreman?
Linda Perry was a strong voice but she wrote a lot more for others. This was like the only radio song she had. I absolutely love this song. She sang this with Punk and Pink sang alone and was good. Love your videos
NO AUTO-TUNE like the BG of today.
Another great female singer/songwriter from the 90s that you should check out is Natalie Merchant. Carnival is a masterpiece!
She was mentor and I believe produced alot of songs for PINK. I believe they had a falling out though.👍
OK. No other hits per se, but this entire album (Bigger Better Faster More) is incredible.
4 none blondes ! a lot of cool songs on one cd wow ,
Yes it sounds like a 90's tune, because it came out in the 90's.
Great reaction. I couldn’t figure out your accent then I remembered seeing you in My Fair Lady. Eliza Doolittle Arrrrrr. I’ll be your Henry Higgins 😊
Millie has good 👍 taste ! 🔊
They cover Led Zepplin's Misty Moutain Hop,,,, check that one out
P!nk, before she became famous, drove to Linda Perry and knocked on her door to be taught by her about music or to write some songs together. Linda did not have any other fsmous song, but she produced a lot of stuff. So literally Linda paved the way for later stars, especially P!nk!
Linda had what it took to be an absolute badass rock singer if she was in the right band.
You have a beautiful voice!!!
I was 17 when i first heard this. I was in county waiting for chain🤘🤘
"spaceman" and "Superfly" are great songs by this woman.. ❤
This woman, Linda Perry, is POWERFUL!!! I love her since this time, till today! 🥰
the song spaceman is just as good
❤❤❤ Millie
Hi Millie ❤
This one and Spaceman. Both so upbeat.
The other song you should check out is "Superfly" off same album.
Neat semi-classic tune. So unique. Awesome voice. Good point about the contrast between soft instruments and strong vocals. The chorus and title don't match which I think hurts its popularity, making it harder to find. I wish they had more hits at this level.
It would be nice to take your voice volume down a bit to match the video so I don't have to worry about the volume changing suddenly.
I first heard this song from the He-man meme lmao
You're from London? ?? Took me forever to get that lol
VERY 90s...I think it came out in the 2000s , but def. a 90s sound....back in the FM radio days this was BIG... she also rocked the Steam punk look before it was a thing :)
Hey what’s going on. Hi Millie great reaction.
Cool song
Hey Millie if you want to hear another Rock Queen belt out Hits check out Charity, Weak or Rise up by Skunk Anansie there singer Skin is just a queen of fire vocals such a powerhouse.
Great classic song
Old School 90s hits
Thanks to the fifth nonblond3 for the content
A legendary song❤
I know it’s already been suggested but I think you would love “Stay” by Shakespeare’ Sister
If the entro is your song..wow I smell TALENT>>>>>
Este disco salió en 1989
I also like the recent Dolly Parton cover with Linda Perry. :)
Great Reaction Millie Mochi!
Fan Fact! Linda Perry Co-Wrote
Ariana Grande’s first song/music video
Put Your Hearts Up 2011!🎸🙏🏻
What took so long?!! 4 non blondes whats up is what is up
Millie, you'll love Gin Blossoms. Classic 90's.
Try " Deep Dark Robot " is a Linda Perry band/project
Linda Perry the Idol of Pink
Very nice
Try spaceman or pleasantly blue two great tracks from the same album as What's up🎉😊
Good Reaction. 😊
That's a remarkably astute analysis, to be able to perceive that "it's a very 90s tune" after hearing nothing more than a few chords strummed on the acoustic guitar. Good show! Yes I remember the 90s well, that's the only decade when people made songs where they played chords on an acoustic guitar. Spot on! 🐱
Perry is an icon...
Excellent song.
That's ok, nobody ever recognizes the actual title.
You know the song Beautiful sung by Christina Aguilera. How deep and important that song is to so many? Hers. If you don’t...check it out.
You must react tonthe entire album , try "Superfly" , you Will LOVE the bass line.
De Linda Perry te recomiendo FILL ME UP
Check out the Cleverlys bluegrass version of this song it's very entertaining and funny!
ok...that was a one-day-fly but still a great one
Linda and grace slick have a great duo out there
