@@AoW7 Honestly I am not sure which connection was for the microphone, but when I connected everything shown in the video the micro phone worked without an issue.

Unfortunately they say it only works from 2018 to 2021 so I don't think it'll work for the 2022. I'm not sure why you know the interior is the exact same as the 21 so I'm not sure why. Maybe it's a system issue but yeah I would suggest contacting their customer service to ask them if it would actually work or not.
SIRIUS XM?? How is it in Bright Sunlight (You have the top off, Sun will shine directly onto the unit) is it visible? I have an anti glare screen, still can't see it in bright sunlight.
Great Video. I have this exact same unit for my 2019 JL ,but for the life of me I can not get the wireless Android Auto to work. It only works through USB. Did you have to do anything else other than connecting you phone via Bluetooth?
It changes to dark mode when your headlights turn on, but I also think there is a way to change it permanently. There is also a different home screen display aswell.
I’ve had this for about a week now and it’s great. But only thing is my heated seats and heated steering wheel won’t turn on. I can’t seem to get in touch with support

Im going to try and reach out to the company tomorrow but have you heard if they plan to expand the unit to work with the 4xe? Would love the larger screen but don’t want to loose those power screens and the regen breaking button.
Looking at the AuCar website the unit shown does not show the hill descent, start stop, parking sensors, etc. as yours. It only has Max A/C, defrost etc. I wonder if those missing buttons are now accessed through the screen.
I don't think there was any place to plug in the XM antenna. BUT you could easily just use the app through your phone or download the app to the system. If you add the app to the system you will need either WIFI or a sim card to get a signal for it.
I like this much better than the Carobotor J max, which i was considering, since you don’t have to give up any of your air vents plus it’s a tad cheaper BUT so sad about no Apple car play, do you know if it’s compatible or if the new update includes this?
Yes I believe you can add an app to do that, you can also just connect it to the Internet (hotspot) and then do everything you do on your phone on the screen.

Random late question. For anyone really. Since the UConnect radio has Cell 3G/4G antenna jacks. Could a generic Fakra to SMA cable be used? So instead of the Aucar antenna and routing hassle. Someone could just use the OEM cell antennas just like an adapter was used for the GPS? Then all you’d need is the included simcard adapter

Hi!! We are a shop in the northeast that recently became dealers for this company. The first radio that I ordered to see how it worked was for my personal Jeep Wrangler. JL 2021. After a few hiccups, we were able to fix a few things. We literally purchased the unit a month ago and we had to do three different software updates so far. So don’t think that the unit will come with all the latest software unfortunately. What has not been fixed is the sound quality which is horrendous. I am not sure if you were able to figure that out? So far we have played with OEM amplifier switch, equalizer, and sound gain with absolutely no luck. To be honest, this is not worth it if the sound gets this compromised. I am talking to the point that it is either way, way too low or it is blowing up the speakers. Apparently they’re sending us another update for the sound. This is pretty frustrating. I can’t imagine what we would have to deal with if every single one of our possible clients would have to do what we have done. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
When I turn off and on the air conditioner, the temperature and wind direction change. Can you please tell me how to keep the previous settings intact?
On the backup camera connection to the main harness, you connected Red to Red. On mine the Red on my backup camera cables is labelled AUX-V and Yellow is labelled AUX-R, on the main harness Red is labelled AUX-R so I think I should be connecting Yellow (AUX-R) on the Backup to Red (AUX-R-In) on the Harness and leaving the Red (AUX-V) from the backup disconnected. Were yours labelled that way or backwards from mine?
To be honest when I first connected those wires I started but connected color to color and then if it didn't work I started switching one of them to see if the camera would work. What I did in the video was what worked for me. Possibly your jeep might be different.
This unit might work for it, I suggest emailing their customer service. Is there special information that gets displayed on your stock radio? Because that might be the only reason this wouldn't work. Also thank you, glad you enjoyed the video .
Actually I am not sure, I thought they worked up until 2023. I would email their customers service and ask. Possibly it does work it's just listed correctly.
Yeah I like it a lot, it has a few quirks but nothing that would prevent me from having it. I'll actually be doing another video of it at the beginning of the year because people have asked a few questions about it and want to know how it is still doing. Also the company just came out with another update for it so I will be checking that out.
You need to go into the setting and change the AC options to configure it to another vehicle model. I can't remember what one it but I suggest trying each one and seeing which one works.
On a Gladiator JT, do you (anyone) know if the stock front Trail Camera works? Also what about the remote unlock via the phone app? I wasn’t sure if that feature was part of the radio or the HMI that is still in the dash somewhere… Last question, how’s the waterproof?
Digging through forums the TrailCam might not work. Since the backup camera and the front camera signals are sent through the same wire. The module (CVPM) receives both signals and then outputs on a single cable to the Radio. The radio commands it to show one or the other and I guess by default it always shows the Backup camera unless told otherwise etc. That sucks if it doesn't.
I know you can add cameras but not sure if it works with the stock front camera. You might need to ask the company. And I don't think this unit is waterproof.
They added support for the TrailCam. I purchased one and just accepted the loss. Nope, running Android 13 and they were able to figure it out somehow. When the Reverse camera pops up. There's the OEM button to switch to the front. Quality is Terrible though, same as the rear. The SD to Digital conversion tanks the quality.
Go to the equalizer and turn everything down. Out of the box it's turned way too high. Also there in the place in the setting that you can adjust volume for different things, like BT volume, phone, etc.
Check out around 15:40, I go over all the climate control. The heated seats and wheel both work fine when the car is on, in the video I just showed the buttons.

@@moe3575lou Yeah when I was doing my research into these types of units, I came across Phoenix, but I didn't get a good impression of them. I think Aucar might be a bit better and more motivated.
I am sure you could download an app on it, but you would need to it have data for the unit.. So the best option would be to just have it on your phone and then use it through carplay or Android Auto.

Since AuCar tech support said it was plug and play compatible with Jeeps equipped with both the rear and front cameras, do you think the extra (yellow) connection would be utilized for that purpose? @ludicrous_danny Yes, I did order it. It’s pretty cool and definitely takes the interior tech to a new level. The wireless CarPlay has been stellar and larger display makes it that much more useful. I had to play around with the see rings to tweak everything and get it set up the way I wanted. However, it’s not perfect… I discovered after receiving it that it does NOT work with the OEM jeep front trail cam. So, I’ve had to give that up. The backup camera is a little bit “grainy” compared to the oem cam but still ok. It was easy to install as the original post described. If/when I get ready to sell I’ll just offer to reinstall the original if they don’t want this unit.
Did you lose “off road” apps or something? Aucar is saying it wont interface with the “off road” stuff. I dont think there is anything on the head unit that is off road related.
Be ware... I had a similar one, from a very reputable company that is known for making the "Tesla Android Radios" and it worked great... Untill the acreen died, outside of warrenty. Then you CANT CHANGE YOUR CLIMATE.... So if its winter time, snd you had your AC on? Oh well! Youll freeze! Or heat on in the summer? Sorry! .... That part really sucks.. These radios are all based on chinese hardware, that can pretty much fail at any momement. And cant just be easily serviced due to no one knowing anthing about these things.... Like a OEM radio can be fixed at any dealership.... Be keep that in mind! Because these things arent cheap either....
Once again someone who thinks they need android auto,when anything you can install on your phone you can install on these units,no need for Android auto

Do you have the android 11 version or the android 9 version? If you have the 11 you might just need to get the latest software version from them.

Yeah I am not sure, but in the setting you can see that it has a GPS signal, but unfortunately all the apps require wifi or data signal to run.

That was just the initial start up, it's pretty quick usually. I would say as fast the stock radios.

The screen ditched from night or day, but to dim it you have to press a button on the top right of the screen or in the settings of the actual unit.

No unfortunately it does not support that yet, they are working on it. The feature is on the system just not linked to the jeep yet.
Great video. I have the Linkswell 4 in my JL, my biggest complaint is the boot time is at least 30 seconds. How is the boot time on this?

Yes, the image on their website is different than what you get. The one I showed is the one you get.

I just double checked my order and it was in fact a 13.3 laptop screen protector and it fit great for me.

You have to turn down the system equalizers all the way down and then go in and turn up the vehicle sound level. I did this in one of my videos.

I had to play with the setting for the AC mode to make sure it was on the right cars. I'll try to get details about what setting I am using.

Yes it does, because I don't have an iPhone I have never shown it. But it would work the same as the android auto, just apple carplay instead.

Yes it works with the stock camera, I showed it close to the end of the video.

I am sure you could just add the SiriusXM app.
What about Satellite radio??
I am sure you could download an app on it, but you would need to it have data for the unit.. So the best option would be to just have it on your phone and then use it through carplay or Android Auto.

FYI - I reached out to their support and they said this new unit DOES support and have inputs (works plug in play) with the factory radio on my ‘21 Jeep Gladiator with front facing trail camera. I’m gonna give it a shot and see how it goes. 👊🏼

@@evolvedjeepinI noticed when you were installing the rear camera feed you plugged the yellow to the green and skipped the other yellow. Since AuCar tech support said it was plug and play compatible with Jeeps equipped with both the rear and front cameras, do you think the extra (yellow) connection would be utilized for that purpose? Thanks!

@ludicrous_danny Yes, I did order it. It’s pretty cool and definitely takes the interior tech to a new level. The wireless CarPlay has been stellar and larger display makes it that much more useful. I had to play around with the see rings to tweak everything and get it set up the way I wanted. However, it’s not perfect… I discovered after receiving it that it does NOT work with the OEM jeep front trail cam. So, I’ve had to give that up. The backup camera is a little bit “grainy” compared to the oem cam but still ok. It was easy to install as the original post described. If/when I get ready to sell I’ll just offer to reinstall the original if they don’t want this unit.

Yeah it will work with your jeep and I didn't notice anything other than the reverse camera quality that I mentioned in the video.

Did you lose “off road” apps or something? Aucar is saying it wont interface with the “off road” stuff. I dont think there is anything on the head unit that is off road related.
@@joshuacarlson3477 Yeah you do lose that stuff but I know they are working on fixing that and might be in the next update but not sure yet.
I didnt even know there were off road things that came up in the radio screen 🤷🏼♂️ sooooo im not gonna miss them

16 mb and 8 mb is not very big now days, when you have mini Thumb drives in the Tb's and Gb's
Valid point, but also most people won't actually put anything onto the system, they just use their phones
Be ware... I had a similar one, from a very reputable company that is known for making the "Tesla Android Radios" and it worked great... Untill the acreen died, outside of warrenty. Then you CANT CHANGE YOUR CLIMATE.... So if its winter time, snd you had your AC on? Oh well! Youll freeze! Or heat on in the summer? Sorry! .... That part really sucks..
These radios are all based on chinese hardware, that can pretty much fail at any momement. And cant just be easily serviced due to no one knowing anthing about these things.... Like a OEM radio can be fixed at any dealership....
Be keep that in mind! Because these things arent cheap either....
