yes.. agree.. even if you gargle liters of mouthwash, still the unpleasant smells remains and you can even tasted it .

No, I would still recommend flossing, it's a nuisance, but really helps prevent bad breath and gum disease.

I am not a big Listerine fan, partly because I have invented a competing mouthwash which I think is much better. Regarding your dentist's interesting suggestion/theory, please ask him/her to contact me directly to discuss.

Hello Dr Mel quick question after I brush I rinse out with water, then I use my mouthwash. Is that ok? Or should I spit out my toothpaste, skip the water and go straight to my mouthwash? Which is better? I hope have not been doing it wrong but if I have, please tell me. I would hate to be repeating the wrong thing over and over again

He said rinse your mouth with water after brushing your tooth ,then give time ( which i think 15 mins ) then use the mouth gargle.
Hi doc. I have been using Listerine everyday for the past 5 years, last week my dentist told me that I should lay off the mouthwash and only use it every 2 days, because if I used it every day it could kill off the good bacteria in my mouth and possibly make me resistant to antibiotics.
Is there any truth to this?

Antibacterial what? What's the word he's saying? He means mouthwash but says something like moultrin? Lo!. Motrin? Maultryn? Wtf is he saying?
There's a huge confusion as to how correctly to use mouthwash. No one --- and I mean not one fucking article I could find on the net --- describes it clearly and simply. It seems that its good to brush/floss first, so as to remove the crap that can be removed mechanically and loosen the rest. Then you hit it with a mouthwash, to reach everywhere, flush out that loosened debris, and kill the bacteria that still are in your mouth. Fine, but here's where the confusion starts:
1. "Do not rinse immediately after brushing as the mouthwash will interfere with the recristallisative action of the dentifrice. Fine, but _when_ then? Not a word. An hour later? Seems like you'd need to brush again as you'll accumulate removable crap in that time. So? When do you rinse?
2. "Rinse, spit out, and leave --- do not rinse with water". Fine, but. The bottle says, do not ingest. If I have a remainders of mouthwash in my mouth, I'm sure to ingest it. Where else will it go? You swallow saliva, so you'll swallow residual mouthwash. Also, if there's alcohol in it, its said to be bad for enamel, and long term it _might_ cause cancer (!!!!!). So what do we do?
