2:55 owner was an architect. So he had some "unique" ideas. Love the subtle little jab there.

I’m a 24 year old, self employed glazier from Phoenix, Arizona in the US. I admire you because you’re a business owner, work full time and you also putting in the time to edit great content. You have been a great inspiration since I started watching your videos personally, as well as for my business. I’ve even created a pull-out tool box to fit in my glass A-frame, just like the drawers in your van.Thank you Scott, you’re the man.

Although I did not have the good fortune to be born in Scotland, I did have the opportunity to spend 10 days in Scotland back in the late 90's. Your retrospective video brought back some great and fond memories for me: Dueling bagpipes in Edinburgh, the Royal Mile, The Fringe Festival, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, The coolest Bed and Breakfast in Inverness (Haggis? What's that?), Railway travel, the landscape, and purple flowers (heath?) in the Highlands, the locomotive engineer, the attendant and her microscopic beverage cart, and Kyle of Lochalsh. Thank you. Scotland is a beautiful country and so are the Scots that I met on that journey. 👍🏾 Stay safe, stay healthy, and keep your head up.

Have pretty much binged watched all your videos during lock down. I am a groundworker looking to branch away into joinery and you have kinda helped with that decision. Hope you and all your family are staying safe during these crazy times!

That made me pretty homesick in parts. Beautiful. 38 years in England, 15 years making television programmes, zero as a carpenter. Getting on for 8 years in the US, and seven of those as a...skilled laborer? Father-in-law is a builder and I got roped in early on. He says I’m a good carpenter, but it’s not a title I would give myself, still so much to learn. Should have started as a youngster, starting out at 39 was a shock to the system!
All the best to you and yours, chief!

Scott mate im so happy you said that. Im a joiner in dundee and the phrase why build something once when you can build it 2 or even 3 times is a daily occurence here. And 1 tip for anyone out there. NEVER do work in an architects house. When I watch guys like yourself working in new zealand or the states, canada or wherever, yeah building codes are slightly different but i always think its no like that here and you just hit the nail on the head. Every job is the same. Esp with very wealthy clients. We had 6 different drawings of a bathroom we are doing at the moment. Each new drawing showing up after you had built to the prevous drawing and now have to rip it out and change it all. Obviously the price changes but they still want it in the same deadline. It drives you bonkers. I'd love to come live their. I have friends in christchurch and wish i was there with a little less lunacy while working.

Been following your channel for awhile mate, luv it. As an ex pat from Liverpool living in Los Angles for over thirty years, this video brought back so many memories of working on UK building sites, never worked in Edinburgh, all though I have been there back in the mid nineties, fantastic city. As a young man I worked with a lot of Jocks on the Island of Jersey UK back in the mid/late eighties, always had a good crack and drink with my mates from Edinburgh and Glasgow, who I worked and played "Hard" with lol! Thanks for all the great videos Scott, and good luck to both you and your partner on the little island NZ. Looking forward to more great vids.
