    You got into the empire, because Riga tends to join the HRE and you changed your capital to Riga, which at that time, was probably in the HRE, thus forcing you in the HRE.

    Okay, so here's a convoluted chain of events:
    Lubeck has a mission to add Riga to the HRE. Your mission to move the capital to Riga placed your capital inside the HRE. Normally, you couldn't do this, but the mission bypassed that. Since your capital is in the HRE, you join the Empire by default.

      Ohhh, that explains a lot. I was wondering how I joined HRE as Riga despite not finishing the mission on purpose (Rigan mission tree also allow to join HRE). Thanks a lot

    I would bet money that this is testing more dynamic government reforms for EU5. It's obviously the next game PDX will release, and it makes sense to test some mechanics out beforehand.
    Edit: Yes. I'm aware Vic3 exists. I meant their next game, probably releasing in 2025. EU4 still has some years left in it, but it's reaching its limit. I think it's safe to assume EU5 is in its early design phase, and I assume this is them messing around with some ideas for dynamic governments. We saw the same thing happen with CK2 Holy Fury and it's Pagan Reformation mechanics. They tested some general mechanics in CK2 and got some feedback, and then greatly expanded upon it.

    • @npswm1314

    8:54 Btw, I think you can vassalize them even if they are over 100 percent. I think it was in leviathan or a later dlc where subjugation cb halves the war score needed to vassalize a nation. So if Teutons is at 116 war score, you actually only need 58 I think and is very much possible to be vassalized.

    Objectively I think Livonian Military Monarchy is the best (it gets Prussian militarisation mechanics, +2 ruler mil, and -5% dev cost)
    I think Enlightened Monarchy and Mercenary State are the coolest for flavour tho

  • @ohNojames
    @ohNojames 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've been playing with the Liviona militaristic monarchy when building a custom nation in Ante bellum(I don't normally create custom nation in regular eu4)....it's the prussian government lite. You get plus 2 military monarch skill instead of 3. You also get the militarization mechanic. You don't need admin 10. You can start your campaign with it, I was never able to start a campaign with the prussian government.

    Guys I went for the full militarist government. Dont make the same mistake I did. Once at the end you get 3 options. The one with the militarist mechanic has a debuff of -50% gov cap. Dont take it. It will basically tank your economy if you are in the hre since your gov cap will go down to like 200. I was going for the achievement and I was doing super well but I messed up my run because I had to leave the HRE :(

    • @jeffvella9765
      @jeffvella9765 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is only one way I know of.
      PU an elector, this will give you a penalty for controlling an elector when trying to be the emperor, but it guaranties a vote.
      Keep the PU small to increase the chance of inheritance.
      When you inherit the elector you become an elector.
      Ideally you would want to be emperor first before being an elector since it is easier to be elected emperor without the penalty.
      If you are outside the HRE you defiantly want to be emperor first before you PU an elector.
      To answer your question about Austria, he only gives elector-ship to those he can control, the bigger you are the less likely he will give you elector-ship.
      From my 3000 hrs in EU4, I never received elector-ship so good luck with that ;)

      @@jeffvella9765 so if ur the emperor can you give yourself electorship?

    • @jeffvella9765
      @jeffvella9765 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tigrecito48 no you can't, the entire purpose of elector-ship is to reduce the power or the emperor.
      If you want to be also an elector you need to PU one and then inherit it's elector-ship.

    • @tigrecito48
      @tigrecito48 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffvella9765 when you say inherit its electorship you mean by intergrating? if for example u get bohemia & brandenberg as vassals/pus & ur austria or hungary & emperor would u try to integrate asap or keep them for as long as possible?

    • @jeffvella9765
      @jeffvella9765 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tigrecito48 It seems you do not know about inheriting PU's.
      PU's are different from Vassals.
      Vassals are their own kingdom with their own king while PU's accept your king as their own.
      At some point after several generations of your king descendants, the PU might think "what the hell we are one big family" and should become one under one government/kingdom.
      This is called inheriting
      = all their land becomes yours without paying any monarch points, fully cored.
      After 50 or so years of ownership of a PU you can inherit.
      When your ruler dies you have a chance to inherit PU subjects.
      The chance amount is written at the bottom when you mouse over the king's name of the PU subject.
      The smaller the PU is, the better the chances.
      So get a PU on an OPM elector and you are very likely to inherit it in 50 years.

    anyone ever notice how most TH-camrs never play more than 50-100 years of this game in their videos? Cos the game becomes a chore more & more over time... nothing new to do, enemies get super tough, tons of rebels constantly... a huge empire to deal with, becoming a bureaucratic nightmare... why does the king have to do everything? They need to make the game more fun later on.. more automated stuff so rebels are automatically dealt with and we don't have to deal with the bureaucracy.. I almost never get past 1650... I'm trying for the first time to get to 1820 as Mongol Empire but even though I got rid of most rebel problems its still kinda boring... huge wars with super tough enemies where you can only take a small amount of land and then waiting for ages for truces.. For me only USA, Portugal, Two Siciles, France, & Spain exist... England & Austria almost dead... so I have to wait around for ages for truces to run out...its 1730... long wars getting very little warscore trying to siege down a million colonial provinces and then taking a few provinces and waiting 10 years again gets tiresome when there is nothing else to do...
