Hi Catherine Rose. I really don’t understand how you seemed so genuinely mind blown by Dimash on your first reaction, but then took another whole year to listen to him again, and then another year to listen to him for the 3rd time. I have not been able to listen to hardly anyone else in the 8 months since discovery Dimash. His perfection in everything he does, as you said, not just in technique, has spoilt me for other singers. He sings in every genre and style from rock, pop, rap to crossover classic and opera, I never get bored He just keeps taking perfection to higher and higher levels.

Dear Catherine i have listened to most your reactions to Dimash. You said ...its easy for him. For it to be easy this boy must have had from what i know from the age of 5 the hell of a training. So its not easy at all. This boy deserves all the best that will come to him in the future. I wish him all the best in Dubai on the 25 this March.I happen to know the work because of my daughter. From the age of 3 my wife every single day took her to her dance lessons. The result at the age of 17 she was European champion in Jazz dancing and ballet. And i am not talking about shows . But judges from France and other countries profecionals. Our goal was not to make her a profesional dancer ,she is 31 now working in a different field after her studies ,but to keep her fit and how to learn what hard work means. So nothing is easy. Another great reaction. Dimash performs here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. The song by Russian singer Vitas was already popular in China, so the show's production team asked Dimash to perform "Opera 2" for the second stage of the competition. However, they forgot to obtain permission from Vitas in a timely manner, and he and his team of lawyers would not grant permission to Dimash to perform the song publicly. Fortunately for us, and to the chagrin of Vitas, the Chinese had already streamed the performance online. Dimash decided to surprise the audience with a lively version of three additional key changes on top of the one done in the original. Unbeknownst to Dimash, his father had come from Kazakhstan to watch him perform this song and surprised him at the end of the performance. Dimash was so happy and excited to see his dad. Dimash is no alien. You only need a lot of talent, work really hard and to do sports for 17 years. Dimash was 22 in this performance from 2017 and he started when he was 5. And Dimash became every year a better singer and he is now 27 and Opera2 is a oustanding song but he has even better songs.
I mean, of course he is naturally talented and worked very hard to be able to do what he does. But you also need to be genetically gifted to have a range like that. It's not "normal". 99.9% of people could still work as hard as he did/does and still wouldn't be able to sing like him (with that huge vocal range).
@@mrgabreis You would say that but there are more people like Dimash. Know that with only a lot of talent you will not get to the level of Dimash. The work he did put in his career is unseen and i don't know a lot of singer who does sports for their lungs either. For example is Dimash still in music school and not to big to say that he can't do everything. He is still working very hard and his singing is still getting better each year.

I was just saying that people call him "alien" because he is gifted to have that kind of range (that even with a lot of training 99% of people wouldn't have).

He should be know by everyone but a lot of people have never heared of him. But i don't see that as a very big problem. If you watch Dimash songs you most of the time don't need a other singer. (But he has amazing duets.)

It was just for me very amazing, that Dimash stepped up more ( and then even added that Staccato ) than the original singer Vitas. Another great reaction. Dimash performs here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. The song by Russian singer Vitas was already popular in China, so the show's production team asked Dimash to perform "Opera 2" for the second stage of the competition. However, they forgot to obtain permission from Vitas in a timely manner, and he and his team of lawyers would not grant permission to Dimash to perform the song publicly. Fortunately for us, and to the chagrin of Vitas, the Chinese had already streamed the performance online.
Dimash decided to surprise the audience with a lively version of three additional key changes on top of the one done in the original. Unbeknownst to Dimash, his father had come from Kazakhstan to watch him perform this song and surprised him at the end of the performance. Dimash was so happy and excited to see his dad. I watched some behind-the-scenes footage from after the performance. Dimash actually asked his dad if he thought that his performance had been ok. Lol. He is so humble.

"I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the performance by points each week.
At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition.
Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11.

The last performance was part of the 2017 Biennial Concert and not the competition. It was broadcast live and is an original song written for Dimash.
Dimash won the first episode for his performance of S.O.S., the second episode, and the 6th, for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place overall went to the famous Chinese 51 y/o singer Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a narrow margin. He did not earn a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a fan-favorite in China and now has a loyal following.

Dimash is no alien. You only need a lot of talent, work really hard and to do sports for 17 years. Dimash was 22 in this performance from 2017 and he started when he was 5. And Dimash became every year a better singer and he is now 27 and Opera2 is a oustanding song but he has even better songs.
I mean, of course he is naturally talented and worked very hard to be able to do what he does. But you also need to be genetically gifted to have a range like that. It's not "normal". 99.9% of people could still work as hard as he did/does and still wouldn't be able to sing like him (with that huge vocal range).
@@mrgabreis You would say that but there are more people like Dimash. Know that with only a lot of talent you will not get to the level of Dimash. The work he did put in his career is unseen and i don't know a lot of singer who does sports for their lungs either. For example is Dimash still in music school and not to big to say that he can't do everything. He is still working very hard and his singing is still getting better each year.
@@gi0vanni220 Of course no one would sing like that without dedication. To be one of the best in the world (in anything) you'll always need talent AND hard work. I was just saying that people call him "alien" because he is gifted to have that kind of range (that even with a lot of training 99% of people wouldn't have).
@@mrgabreis There are not that many but more singers than you know with a extreme range. And it's a fact that even Dimash with his insane talent is not that well know. He should be know by everyone but a lot of people have never heared of him. But i don't see that as a very big problem. If you watch Dimash songs you most of the time don't need a other singer. (But he has amazing duets.)

But if you whant to change the topic to if i'm something like a vocal coach than the answer is no. I only watch and learn things from what vocal coaches and singers tell and i know some facts because i watch a lot of Dimash. But i can say the same to you, but i won't because that was not the topic.

@@brei2670 no offense, I know when Dimash is singing, there are so many aspects, when first time listening to his songs, it is hardly possible to mention everything. It was just for me very amazing, that Dimash stepped up more ( and then even added that Staccato ) than the original singer Vitas.
