I've got the lush flanger for my birthday I was so impressed by the sound that I can create I will be looking for more of them. Oh and this little pedal gives me exactly what I need for she sells sanctuary by the cult.
I have this pedal and use it on all of my worship gigs as well as my cover band. It can do a lot of awesome stuff and really is as good as this video suggests. Placed it in front of my Orange Dark and good golly kids... it’s amazing. It’s also my favorite overdrive pedal in my setup and I honestly use it more than my OCD.
Just wanted to say, I had no idea how to create a perfect tone. But you had a great vid I saw that helped me out. Your reviews and tips on tones really helped out in so many ways. Keep up the good work dude 😃
Their other pedals are also pretty bad ass. I thought about getting their entire set of pedals (minus a couple I would never use), since they're not really expensive, and make a tiny gig board with a Pedal Train mini. Talk about your portable rig. Multi-effects boxes would accomplish the same thing, but seriously - which setup looks more bad-ass, a Pod HD, or a rack of these bad boys.
This one will make my 4th Hotone pedal for my board---Grass overdrive, Choir chorus, EKO Delay, and now this. Good observation on the BOSS Blues overdrive fuzzing out at higher gain settings---that was the factor that made me buy this one, since I didn't like fuzz (Keef did that trick best with a Maestro anyway!). These pedals have remarkable sound quality, and it's making my board smaller!
Another cool video. Thanks for being active and sharing with us whats new. And just a quick info , you have fans all the way in Saudi Arabia q: Keep it loud bro
Actually you can use this pedal after a high gain pedals just to take advantage of it's "frequency-widing" characteristic and rich boost. Excellent for it's price and way better than the TS808 after comparison.
I used it on bass to create the intro track on this video. Used it as a clean boost to thicken up the signal a little, certainly works well for that. Didn't try adding hair to it though. I'll maybe have a little experiment and tell you how it goes.
Alex Rooney I seem to remember a video where Rob and the Captain did a very quick test of each of the Hotone pedals and if my memory serves they were both very impressed with this one.
Looks cool, sounds great. May need to consider trying it if it truly does sound better than the tubescreamer. Did you know that Jim Dunlop unveiled a mini cry baby Wah at this year's Namm show? Its exactly as it sounds: a classic crybaby in miniature but with true bypass added. If you can maybe you should consider giving it a try cause I'd be interested to hear your opinion: I know you're a big fan of the classic wah pedal as am I.
Yo Colin, I'm looking into versatile amps to save for and I'm stuck between a Bugera as it's versatile and en EVH 5150 50 watt just for metal, heard a lot of issues with reliability in Bugeras, you ever had a problem with yours?
Hi Brandon, As far as I'm aware the reliability issues with Bugera were with the very early models. Mud sticks however, so despite all Bugera amps for the last few years being much more reliable, people are still talking bad about them. My Bugera has never had any issues in the 2 years or more that I've owned it. I've played it live many times, traveled with it and used it extensively for home and studio. I have upgraded all the valves in it, purely because the stock valves aren't all that great. I do find their amps to be extremely versatile and there are few amps that will sound as good for the amount of money you'll spend.
CSGuitars Yeah that's the impression I got, that there was a stigma around them because of the early issues. Didn't they move factories to China or something like that, aint really looked into it... Thanks though, keeping it in mind!
great video and audio quality! you get new gear? pedal sounds pretty good to! been considering a drive pedal as my distortion pedal isn't giving me the crunch i want
I would consider the boss sd1, it's a really nice overdrive that has a wide range of gain. Smooth bluesy tones all the way up to saturated leads. It's a valve like pedal with a tone knob that works. Not expensive either.
the value tube over dive is not easy one to get design wise. I tend to like class a amp transistor amp over dive. guitar amps my use class b transistor amps because they use less power.
daniel cullen Well, he did say he liked the tone. Wampler pedals are a good bit more expensive that the little Hotone jobs, so there's every reason for them to be superior, but we all know that gear doesn't always work that way. Maybe I'll be able to stretch up to a Wampler review at some time
Nice pedal but it’s too small if you’re a giging musician this will become a pita very quickly if you need to check or adjust settings quickly on a dark stage. But for bedroom use it will be fine.
there's not really much to know. you plug it in and turn it on and then fiddle with the knobs until you find a sound you like. it's not like you have to worry about blowing anything up... dont be so scared of trying new things.
Picked up the Hotone Wally+ looper recently. Software does not work. Contacted customer service and what a joke. After waiting 5 days they sent ME a list of 14 questions to answer about customer satisfaction. Not a word about software failure. I will never buy another of their products....ever.

I bought this pedal 2 days ago and it's my favourite overdrive pedal , works perfect with my fender amp.

This channel deserves more subscribers
Really like these little stompboxes, I have the Komp compressor from Hotone and it's fantastic

Just got the Lift clean boost and it's not bad as an overdrive as well. Love these little suckas!

sounds great and looks cool as hell
These videos are amazing!!! I love your channel so much!!! Keep on rocking :)
Nice review. When do you think you will do a mod video on the Boss DS-1?
Awww, it's so little and cute! And it sounds great, to boot. Great demo! :-)
Can't find any videos of this played on bass... Don't know if I should just chance buying it or not, sounds great, decent price too.
I used it on bass to create the intro track on this video.

Cheers, that'd be helpful!
Has it held up nicely through time, or nay?
The biggest question is does it Dorje?!
Alex Rooney I seem to remember a video where Rob and the Captain did a very quick test of each of the Hotone pedals and if my memory serves they were both very impressed with this one.
CSGuitars I remember watching that one did he play white dove with it I can't remeber(White dove is my favorite Dorje song and my ringtone)!
Alex Rooney I think it sounds better for AC/DC than Dorje. Can't hurt to try though.
This is a great review! I am stuck between this pedal and Hotone Skyline Grass. Have you tried that one?
Really enjoy your videos. Will you be doing anything on wah pedals? Cheers
2:30 those pedals aren't not much bigger than a dang 9v. I've got the Fat Tone clean boost pedal from them... :)
could this pedal clean a joyo bantamp zombie flabby low end? similar to a mesa 5150
Awsome pedal

Sounds sick

I saw that Lego X-Wing, Colin, you can't fool me.
Where can I buy a scottish accent?
comes free if you buy enough whiskey :p
Has to be scotch tho
I love how it looks like a cartoon character face or a robot! having that vintage style knob for the gain is cool too.
My brother made a comment about it looking like a robot face too, but for some reason I just can't see it
CSGuitars The volume/tone knobs are the eyes, the fat button is the nose, the metal bar in the middle is the mouth.
That's not a vintage knob for gain, that's just what robot hats look like.
Sounds nice. But I bet it doesn't beat my Wampler sovereign distortion:P haha nice play bro I love the tone
Oh look a guitar player sliding in his preferences when talking about something he hasn't looked at before nor has anything to do with the video ..
daniel cullen Well, he did say he liked the tone.

On the subject of wampler Colin I own the pinnacle duluxe , its a beastly pedal 😊 expensive though , had to deposit the pedal for awhile !!
CSGuitars haha I ment no offense I mean I think this pedal sounds amazing. I feel like it could be versatile too.
CSGuitars Lol that part where you said Does it metal. it had me dying of laughter
1st comment!!! I love your videos man and i can't wait for another episode of will it shret!
false. and nobody cares.
Then why you care :)
Nice video! :)
Entirely irrelevant, but you would have hated the conversation my mother was trying to have with the people in Richer Sounds today.
I can only imagine...
Nice pedal but it’s too small if you’re a giging musician this will become a pita very quickly if you need to check or adjust settings quickly on a dark stage. But for bedroom use it will be fine.
I don't know shit about setting up an amp or using effects so that's why I just stick to acoustic lol!

I haven't a clue what I'm doing either, but experimenting is a lot of fun.
Thanks for the awesome feed back!
joe Costello I'm sure I've seen you comment on countless Alice In Chains videos. Small world seeing you here too haha.
Lol that's awesome!! I've probably commented on like every AIC video on TH-cam haha!
A bit too small, but pretty cool pedal.
is that a swollen pickle in the background

I'm not sure what you think complaining about it on a completely unrelated video from years ago is going to achieve, but sure.
YAY WILL IT SHRED EPISODE F-!!!.......oh........it's a pedal review... still a good vid.. but still. ;_;
4,444Th view wooh haha
Pensa num pedal ruim! Kkkk
Would've been better if you'd have played blues.
For obvious reasons.
