- I've been looking forward to a day like this for a long time now, and thoroughly enjoyed hiking in a giant loop around my local area, stopping off to swim, read, chat and paint!

"Splodge and scribble" has become my favorite concept!! It's so stunningly beautiful where you live, and the heather everywhere is breathtaking!

When in Cornwall I just love watching the sea under the sun, I reckon it’s as good as the Spanish coast! And, your little tours fill me with joy! Wish we were there! But, as husbands’ in hospital after a big operation., & I can’t leave him we’ll have to wait. It’s a beautiful coast! Your sketches are super. Thanks.

This was lovely. My husband and I were in Scotland two years ago and he kept expecting to see heather, but I told him it was the wrong time of the year (June). I should show him this video. :)

Just watched during my lunch break and your video made me smile so many times because it seemed like such a happy, perfect, relaxing day, surrounded by so much beauty. Your paintings are all lovely! Such a contrast to my absolutely horrible, stress/anxiety filled workday 😂; I need more happiness/relaxing and less stress in my life.

It really was a heavenly day. I've been looking forward to a day like this for nearly a year now - when I had no bad back/bad hip/sprained ankle to hinder me, and when the weather was good, and nothing else I needed to do! Summer can do what it wants now - I've had my day!

I'm so sorry - that sounds absolutely horrid!! Hope it clears up completely for you. Yes, it was a delightful day, and one I've been hoping for, for many months - the combination of my back and hip behaving (I was on crutches up to 3 weeks ago!) plus the good weather meant I could snatch the opportunity!

Helen, I think you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I’m a huge fan of the “Doc Martin” series, in large part due to its filming location. I love how expansive and pristine the coastlines are and available for the public to enjoy. If that were here in the US, they would be covered in McMansions with limited public access! This was a really enjoyable video and thank you for taking us along. Both of your pieces turned out awesome and really captured all those lovely colors and textures. The heather is just magnificent. Thanks again. BTW, your wall painting is great.
I absolutely love living here, and am very grateful for it on my doorstep. Mind you, there are many parts of America that I have fallen in love with too, and need to go back and enjoy again! Thank you!

Wow! So pretty where you live, love the water and its color almost like a turquoise. The pink open area is so nice as well. Part of your place looks like where I live in California. I live by the Mountains area...I wish I live close to the Beach.

Thanks for sharing more of your part of Cornwall and your charming Splodge and Scribble" paintings of the coastal cliffs. The sweeping vistas and close details are all stunning, especially the view looking down the flower covered slopes and out over the turquoise ocean. You are blessed to spend your days in that landscape.

I love Cornwall 😍 had many a wonderful holiday along that coastline. Sadly, I’m quite a bit further north where it’s quite chilly and less scenic (tho I’m a stone’s throw from the Lake District thankfully)

I think I’d use the word “idyllic”. The most beautiful coast and those colours!!! Love the 3 pieces you produced and the glimpse into ur lovely day. Was disappointed that Aiden Turner didn’t suddenly appear in the heather, shirt off and scythe in hand 😂. Cheers 😊

Unfortunately last September I had to re-home Freddy with a wonderful woman in Windsor. Even with hiring a dog walker every day, I couldn't keep up with his needs because I developed some unexpected long term mobility issues, and am only able to walk far for a few weeks after my treatments twice a year. That's why the walk in this video was so special to me. It was honestly the hardest decision I've ever had to make and I'm still not over it, but I think I did the right thing for him.

I’m off to Cornwall myself in September and can’t wait, I’ve been there for holidays more times than I can remember over the past 30 years and absolutely love it there. I’m hoping to do a bit of swimming and really hoping to get some painting done too. I’ll be definitely visiting the Lost Gardens of Heligan a couple of times as it’s my favourite place in the world, so I’ll definitely try and paint a bit there or at least get lots of photos to work from.

Thanks so much! I had to laugh because my activity levels have been terrible! I've been looking forward to a walk like this for nearly a year, following my recent hip injection, but then today I have torn a calf muscle while out on another coastguard job, and am back on crutches again!! At least I got the walk in this video done in between!
