David Wilkerson was the Founding Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. He was called to New York in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book, The Cross and the Switchblade.
In 1987, David Wilkerson returned to "the crossroads of the world" to establish Times Square Church. As a pastor of the church, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God.
David Wilkerson had a strong burden to encourage and strengthen pastors throughout the world. From 1999 to 2008, he traveled around the globe holding conferences for Christian ministers.

Christians we must understand that we are either born with God's Holy Spirit within us or not. According to Jeremiah 31 God said he would put His law in their minds and write it in their hearts by the giving of the Holy Spirit;
"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." - Jeremiah 31:33.
Well we clearly read in the New Testament how Peter, Paul, and the disciples went around laying hands upon the Old Covenant Israelites so they could receive the spirit after it was initially given at Pentecost. The rest of us are either born with God's spirit or not. In Revelation 13:8 and again in 17:8 we learn that the New Covenant believers have their names written, past tense, in the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world, or at the crucifixion of the Lamb, which began the New Covenant. So if we love righteousness and are driven to do the right thing in spite of our sinful flesh we bear witness that God's Spirit lives within us and we need to reckon that and continue to live in a way that would bring God glory even when it seems that were the only ones doing it. The Biblical reality is that God has chosen us brothers and sisters, so let us bring light in this dark world, and let us overcome evil by doing good! (Rom 12:21).

If they don't want Truth , then in my opinion they're not of God. Never be afraid to preach the truth, otherwise wouldn't you be denying Christ. The hour is close , hold tight to the Lord

I once was close to God . I fell away when my husband cheated and kids got on drugs . One is in a prison and I am no Longer able to see my grandkids . I have to look at myself now and say ; do you no longer want to follow me because you don’t have what you loved ?

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
Make that verse your mantra. Remind yourself that it is your faith that Satan is attacking via troubles. That's what he does. Try and get back to your church or join a new one. Do not isolate yourself in your troubles. That increases your vulnerability to successful attacks by Satan. Your husband and kids are grown folks; responsible for their choices. You can only pray for them and let the Holy Spirit work in their lives. Do not let their bad decisions drag you away from eternal heaven
The greater the problem, the greater the opportunity to prove God! Run to him with your needs!!
Praying 4 you right this minute 🕶🙏 I was raised in an abusive new age cult that destroyed my family. The good news is my Grandmother willed her Bible to me - and really liked Pastor Wilkerson's Sermons and books. Dispite being "banned" contact with this beloved Grandmother, she had the last word. I opened the Bible, and left the cult (I was 44 years old). I am 60 now. It just makes the Truth that much sweeter, but I understand some of the pain you shared. Please take care.

At age 14, 1977, I read "Run baby run" and was saved by the preaching of the Gospel by David Wilkerson in that book added to the fact that he gave his life to save those gangsters. He said to Nicky Cruz: I know you're a gangster and murderer and can cut me up in thousands of pieces, but each one of those pieces will still tell you that God loves you...

The genuine church, is the Gospel driven body of Christ. The true sheep know and are guided by the voice of Jesus, the Good Shepard. We have ourselves to blame for not holding fast to preaching the true Gospel. The church is the reason so many false teachers have gone out unchecked. We have not been diligent in carrying the true Gospel to the world, and some leaders have not equipped the church to carry out the Great Commission. Lord have mercy on us.

I've noticed how a lot of pastors tell jokes and try to be funny through the whole church service. I quit listening to them when they start that joke telling.

What truth David Wilkerson preaches! It takes guts in this day and age to preach the TRUTH like this! I've loved and appreciated David Wilkerson since I got saved at age 11 and I'm now 68. Thank you Yahweh for this man.

Yes there are a few but they aren’t the big televised churches or the big denominational churches. They are the little store front churches that open their doors to one and all and preaches Jesus Christ and him crucified!! That doesn’t ask for money several times for this or that, but give people the opportunity to pay their tithes to be obedient to God! That has an alter call every service and are instructed to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues. Then someone will be appointed to read Bible and go in the prayer room and learn to pray to God! The beginning of a strong foundation in the beginning of their new life in Christ Jesus learn to put the whole armor on and fight against the temptations of satan! That feed the hungry with the gospel as well as feed them with a free meal that they don’t leave the house of God hungry in body and soul! That there will always be someone at anytime available to help them with anything that they might need! You will not make it to heaven if you do not read the Holy Bible everyday and pray! Sinner or not, Jesus died so you may be washed clean from sin, all sin, we are not to reveal each others nakedness cause that's a sin in its self, Jesus payed for all sin once and for all, repent of sin while you have the chance while you live, cause after you die you cant repent , but if you believe that Jesus died on the cross and was buried and after 3 days raised from the dead you will be saved no two ways about it.

If you need an observed timeline when most churches got overtaken by that false gospel it was in the mid 1980s generally which it slowly negatively poisoned many christians until up to now . I remember when many then good leaders spoke against it in pulpits that who stopped doing it and joined in with it which is so strange to me still . It gained strength ..but God will judge that deceptive system fully one final day .

I can’t remember the exact year but around 2010 I was near death from addiction and facing years if not the rest of my life in prison for numerous dwi’s . While I was in Teen Challenge David Wilkerson was involved in a automobile accident and was taken home to be with the Lord . Although I can’t say that because of Teen Challenge my life completely changed and my addictions left me I can say that this is where a beginning of something great started . 10 years later God has blessed me more than I would ever have deserved. We have a successful business that would’ve never happened without the grace of out Holy Father in Heaven . My wife and I are in the process of adopting our granddaughter that 10 years ago would’ve been impossible. We have a Good Good Father and I’m so grateful for his mercy.

Absolutely not criticising your comment .. But a question is are these 2023 revivals as called just people attending megachurches more so ? ( after thought they must be ? ) because many big churches often are likely not actually in God's will because merely a name does not mean anything without the signature of true even meek godliness and genuine existence in scripture that shows every good way . Not carnal services and talk loud without honest substance . Some churches praised of can be not good to brethren seeking or coming there as a sign being not in God as should be ( some you backslide in them shocking as that ). REVIVAL used to mean what it is that is many genuinely impacted by signature of holy genuine love of the Father and Jesus in all essence and not as today a mere circus or show of musical talents and thumps appealing to flesh more . Sorry my words are strong and forward. I been with Jesus a long time and saw places turn fleshly using that means to puff up services and not hearing God as claimed . Amen praise God for his deliverance there are so many deceived. Pray that God will shake these false churches so that the truth will come out and peoples eyes are opened to the truth. Numbers means nothing. The road to hell is wide and open and takes a lot of traffic. The road to God is like going on a narrow path through the jungle. And many times you have to fight the overgrowth and wild animals to stay on it. God gives us the shield of faith and sword of his spirit to cut through the darkness and protect us from attack. The confedince in the breastplate of righteous of Christ. The buckle of truth keeping us clothed, for without the truth we could be exposed for all to see. We have the sandles to walk forward and not stand still sharing the gospel the great commission to all we meet as we go. As we go we have the helmet of salvation protecting our minds from the enemys lies. Knowing that our salvation comes from the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony that Jesus is our Saviour, Master and Sovereign Lord. The Holy Spirit as our Comforter pushing us forward with a spear from behind so that we don't stand still and get sidetracked by the world our old selves or the enemy that makes us stumble and fall off the path into darkness. When this happens it slows us down and gives us confusion and dispear and emotionally exhausted,.but as Christians we are those that stand up and remember the fact that Jesus is the truth the way and the life. We will start to see a light in the distance giving us hope that leads to faith that we can get back on the path. We start finding and seeing Jesus path that leads to Him. So we must look up above all the obstacles, failures, disappointments, and all the things this world has to offer. Look ahead and see Jesus and stay focused on Him knowing your salvation draws near. For every person this life is about the road you choose the destination is not here in this world it is in the world that is coming. The things of this world is temporary and will pass away It is like a drop of time in the ocean of eternity.
For me I have to confess and repent. Jesus forgive me for being side tracked falling and stumbling in the darkness for so long not looking up and focusing on the fact that you are the way the truth and the life. May I look up in faith and follow you wherever you lead. For without faith it is impossible to please you. Your path for me leads to victory and the glorifying of your Holy, Righteous and sanctifying name.Thank you Jesus for your life, sacrifice and victory on the path less traveled.

Yup and true believers are shunned. I always thought there was something wrong with me but there wasnt they were more interested in following their desires I was interested in serving God. I was shunned at church. Church has litterally done nothing for me.
I am 72 years old and have seen a lot of stuff in the US in churches. I knew about 12 years ago that many churches were being run like corporations and the preacher was the president and CEO. My education includes a MBA in business and economics from Missouri State University. The choirs are gone and most of the music since about 2000 has been simple and not intellectually challenging. I studied marketing and modern marketing is what brother Wilkerson is talking about. Preachers refuse to talk about specific sins such as homosexuality and greed. Covid 19 was judgement on the churches spoke of in this sermon. I saw many of them I use to attend crumble. They quickly encouraged watching online they very thing they use to shun and look down on. No buckets in the seats no money In their pockets. Let alone the doctrine they preached. Watered down.‘I heard david a few years ago and left those churches quickly.. thank the Lord.

Probably this called to be Laodicean age time started mostly beginning in the 90s onward .. my observation is it intensified then and now impacted so much of what was once so truly good that is missed today.. It spread as a plague spilling over even saints who tried hard to avoid it sadly seems . This is when many church people got more carnally minded at the end of the 1980s . Before that carnal minds were less or rare in daily Christianity.

Even though I believe some true believers exists their just not in fullness within the Body...in the times of Ahab and Jezebel the two notable people were Jehu the Jezebel destroyer and Elijah... and Elijah thought he was all alone during his time...but the Lord told him their were more then just him..their were some believers still just not abundant. This is how I see it Today.. I’m a believer who can’t be nurtured but only by the Holy Spirit mostly and not people and without support from other believers it’s hard to be accountable to yourself a lot of the times and being Unaccountable you prone to sin..And it would be awesome to be with a body of believers who cared enough about you to help you be accountable as well as you help them...Its just majority of people are so manipulative and apostate that they lead many astray..so it feels lonely but I know their are more...Just not abundant, and I Can’t wait until I can finally be together in the fullness of all believers..I appreciate your concern and prayer and may the Lord abundantly Bless you.Even Jesus warns the Church of Jezebel in revelations....

To be fair I know many good people who really thought something would happen to turn things around because it was so evil what took place with the cheating etc. What kept me from totally being depressed was the Word & knowing that God will not forsake His people. There is always a remnant of believers even during difficult times. Don’t give up hope, ask Him for His leading & guiding you where

@Barbarian Lion - Only God can send the Holy Spirit to draw one to Jesus Christ, and God can use any means He chooses to do something, be it a book written by another Christian, be it the Bible, be it another Christian, be it a beautiful sunset, be it anything for there is no limit on what God can do, and how He chooses to do it.
