That's because in the Boeings the heading alignment part is not automatic and incase you loose the IRS system you'll have something to head back to. Also on the 787 and later airplanes we have an eicas message "Pilot response" that triggers if theres no input by a pilot on the MCP for more than 15mins (if I remember correctly). So when you fly the Boeings Always align the heading 🤟🏻😊
