This is the cleanest buzz cut - great work, Dan. And also the client has great hair / hairline as well. I’m really intrigued by the blending of the front hairline. It creates a very soft profile and and a unique look. Does this technique work on all buzz cuts or does the client need to have really dense, voluminous hair to make it work?

this video helped me get an idea of my next haircut since i usually just have to ask my barber to do his magic because i dont know any haircutting terms. i've made a note of what i want so i dont fumble the moment he asks me what i'm exactly here for. although i wish i had a barber like dan to give me a haircut because i wouldnt have to do much research on my own. dan is such a good teacher. my barber on the other hand is not exactly the most vocal person but it's also partially me. it was already hard enough that he isnt great with english. i mean he is still a great barber cos i've never hated whenever he does his magic on me. i just feel that a different style would suit me and now i can vocalise it easier. thanks.

I hate thinning shears! I had a barber use them on my hair 50 years ago and it totally frizzed out my hair. So, for 50 years now, whenever I go to a new barber I clearly tell them NO THINNING SHEARS!!! I love you Dan!
Tell me about it! I'm growing my hair out and have had a series of dubious 'maintenance' cuts along the way and I am certain one of the barbers used thinning scissors just on one side of my head! Yikes! Not sure whether to cut it all back and start again or try another barber. Its such a lottery.

Good looking lad.. he could pull most styles off. But he’s young and still quite soft faced, I think the buzz cut adds some angularity and maturity that’s needed. Really long hair will swamp his face, you need a really strong, angular face structure to pull off long hair as a man - or beard-jaw it - otherwise it can look very feminine. I’m 31, and 2 years into growing my hair from mid length, and only in the last few months had it got to the full ‘Viking’ length I think everyone dreams of.. mid back and around top of the nipple length through the front and sides. Got there.. loved it for a few weeks, and actually now am going short again. It’s bloody effort. It’s hard to look neat, especially if you have a professional job, gym and sport is hard going, you have to keep hair ties and bands on you all day, hair gets everywhere (shower plug hole.. always cleaning), washing it is genuinely quite a chore, the upkeep is very important, it’s a lot of work. I’m cutting it back down in ‘stages’ so I don’t do anything too drastic. Just had a few inches taken off and shaped in last week.. looks miles better, ties up easier, next month I’ll do another few inches back to around what it was 2 years ago when I started not touching it.. and go for more medium length. Suits me better, I don’t need to keep a strong beard all the time then so it doesn’t look too feminine. I think if you can - grow your hair out once at least, and most people tend to settle back in the middle again once they have experienced it. Probably where Dan will end up too - he keeps it out of his face even now, so it tells me once it gets longer and longer, he will then too (I was the same at peak length also).
Oh wow what a difference that makes. It opens his face and gives him a softer rounded appearance to his square shaped head. He definitely time traveled from the ‘80’s era into the 21st century. I hope he takes the time to watch how you achieved this.
Dan looks at how the client's choice will work out in the long run before making actual suggestions. I think that's the point of his consultations, not just be like "ok whatever you say, Sir" and then weeks or months later the client will be like "i asked for this and the barber messed up" but maybe the barber did what you asked and it just doesn't suit you. With a skilled barber you see how good the haircut actually is days, even weeks after the fact. It should definitely be a team effort, not just sittting there thinking ok do this no matter how unrealistic my expectations are.

Excellent fade. I did wonder if you could have done something interesting with the fringe though. It seemed a bit left out. Would a flick up have worked or something? It looks fabulous but the fringe doesn’t seem finished somehow.
Dan is a stud. With his weight loss he’s also probably gained the energy to become the best TH-cam barber. And honestly there’s no comparison at this point.

People always want what they can't have! 🙂 He has a wonderful head/face shape and clearly looks awesome with the buzz cut that is contoured to his head shape. The hairstyle complements his face shape. Rather than do battle with the nice look he has, he should take advantage of it.

Definitely a SuperCutz finished haircut. Fades are meant to be blurry with no visible lines. That line on the left side is so noticeable. The guy is a nice barber 💈 but keeping it real that’s a haircut you get at SuperCutz for sure
