  • Making Magnesium Oil is so easy - all you need is some magnesium flakes and distilled water! I also show you how to make a creamy Magnesium Body Lotion / Cream.
    Magnesium Oil (or brine)
    1 cup magnesium flakes
    1 cup purified water
    Magnesium Rich Body Lotion
    3 Tbsp shea butter
    1/3 cup olive oil (or use other base body oils, like sweet almond or Tropic body oil)
    50 drops of your favourite essential oils
    1 cup magnesium oil
    This is where you can buy Soothe The Senses Tropic body oil, add Inga Lightley as your ambassador when you check out:

    Magnesium will stop tingling / itching once your body is no longer deprived of magnesium. The tingling is to let us know we do not have enough magnesium in our system

      Oh, how interesting, I thought it was just too potent and irritating to the skin undiluted or not emulsified with something else.

      Is it equal parts of water and magnesium or 5 parts water to 1 part magnesium. I've seen different ratios and wondering which is correct.

      @HealthOrigins  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bronwyn6704 it's equal amounts of magnesium flakes and water, it's in the description under the video.

      The tingle feeling is because magnesium is a vasodilator, Meaning, it expands blood vessels and creates more blood flow. The tingle is blood flow

    This looks amazing. I made another recipe that I made from another yt channel for the magnesium lotion and she used beeswax and I’ve heard others suggest emulsifying wax and citric acid due to making sure it Doesn’t get rancid. I made the mag lotion and it didn’t mix very well and when I apply it to my son and my skin it stings and irritates it so I’m not sure what to do other than waste a whole
    Half jar and I’m concerned that I have to use emulsify wax, beeswax or something so it doesn’t go rancid. Is this a NECESSARY step?❤

      Thanks. Wax is definitely not needed for this recipe, shea butter does the job here and it emulsifies beautifully and definitely does not go rancid. It sounds like you have too much magnesium oil in your version, perhaps add some melted shea butter to your mix and reblend - you don't want to waste the whole lot. Worst case scenario, you can always use that cream as foot cream, it shouldn't irritate too much as the foot skin is thicker.

    My husband absolutely loves me using the magnesium oil on his back, topped with castor oil which takes it in deeper. He isn't as fond of the lotion.

      A good idea with the castor oil! 🙂👍

    Since there is water in the lotion doesnt it need a preservative? Ive always been told anything with water MUST have a preservative. The last thing I want to do is rub a bunch of bacteria all over my body...but really would love to make this.

      If you make small quantities, it will not have a chance to get any bacteria. There's enough salt and fat in this to not require a preservative. If you're worried, perhaps you could keep it in the fridge.

    Is it required to make a brine? Can you just put the flakes straight into the recipe and dissolve them in the oils in the recipe instead of water?

    • @HealthOrigins
      @HealthOrigins  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't believe the flakes will dissolve in oil, I haven't tried making it that way, so can't really comment.

      That is strange, as mine never seperated, even after a couple of months.

    I was told not to heat or boil- I was told just use hot water & put flakes in 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @HealthOrigins
      @HealthOrigins  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That would work too, as long as the flakes melt 🙂

      Ok I’ll try both ways. Would love to make the magnesium lotion- I tried another person’s video & it didn’t come out right. She had a food processor & you have some kind of blinder - all I have is a hand mixer. The first person’s it never set up- I hope if I try yours- it will. But again I only have a hand mixer 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @HealthOrigins
      @HealthOrigins  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It should be absolutely fine with the hand mixer for my recipe 🙂
