Hi CPRO I fished Dalmarnock quite a number of years ago and thought myself unlucky if I never caught a fish and on several occasions had three fish and often caught summer salmon that were big teens. Most of the monster fish I hooked at Dalmarnock fell off but the memories live on in full technicolour Cheers Iain. 🥃
What a briefing you got there Iain... Excellent Gillie! The beat looked cracking... Bright blue skies and low water make it very difficult.... Looking forward to your next outing! 😉👍 Hope you and yours are keeping well. Cheers James 🥃
Colin is one of these guys that are desperate to make sure that you have the opportunity to catch a fish James . I have nothing planned at the moment in the way of fishing trips but that may change if we get rain . I hope that all is well with your family . Chees Iain 🥃
Hi Iain....its hard goin in bright low conditions but you just never know. Another enjoyable video none the less...thanks for taking the time to make and share them. That's us just got water and some fish show up this week. I've got an appointment at 1PM tomorrow but al get out for a few hours afterwards...cant wait.
I have just had a message from from Eric and Mark that were fishing West Newbiggin they had 21 Fish on today and landed 11 the biggest was 25lb........ tight lines There is a lot of fish come in with the rain arriving Cheers Iain 🥃
@@IainSB I had one nice fish took me but the hook hold was such that it never hooked him up....it was enough to get the ticker boomin and the knees knocking. Theres always monday.......
I hope things went well yesterday I was out at Cardrona for a couple of hours in the afternoon and managed to catch 2 and had another 2 pull hard at the fly without them staying on 🥃
Hi Gregor I hope you are well and doing a bit of catching . I hope that my ballot will give me a chance to get back there again this year . Tight Lines Cheers Iain 🥃
Hi again Cammy I had a drouth by the time I arrived home ...... these days cant take the chance of stopping of at some lovely ale houses on the way. I just have to keep my tongue tucked into my mouth for a while 😉 Cheers Iain 🥃
I think this year has been so dry and warm that a lot of anglers have struggled Motueka except on the odd occasion when the river has had a little rise . I think that we may have some rain in our area next week 🤞 Cheers Iain 🥃
You gave Colins beat a good shot Iain. I actually prefer the top half of the beat and if possible would prefer to fish that all day because its a very large stretch of water. I lost a big springer in the stepps pool march 21st 2020 that decided to head back to Perth.
Hi CF I fished there years ago and had some cracking springers and monster summer salmon and the memories of these fish should have pulled me back there years ago ........ The Memory of your big fish will have you return again next spring . Tight Lines Cheers Iain 🥃
IT was the first time fishing under the instruction from Colin and he is very knowledgeable about his beat and I will look forward to going fishing there again Cheers Iain 🥃
I haven't herd a bad word about Colin and you can tel that he is desperate that anglers enjoy there day at the river . As you say there are always other days to catch fish Cheers Iain 🥃
That first pool you fished should have produced, it seemed to have a good run in and had the conditions been kinder.....who knows! I think you tried everything in the book by the sound of it! Next time.......tight lines..👍👍😎
Thanks again Mr Mazo I did have a good day out and if nothing else went home with a bit of colour in my cheeks ......... and a wee thirst Cheers Iain 🥃
I really like the look of that beat. Looks well organised too. I might try that beat next year. Unlucky not to catch anything but we can only keep trying. The weather should be changing soon anyway and cooling down which can only mean more salmon will be running.
Hi Raymond Colin has been the ghillie there for over ten years and is passionate about the beat so I know if you go there you will be looked after . The rain predicted for this weekend seems to have been pushed back until midweek. All rain dances are appreciated 🕺 Cheers Iain 🥃
Top lads colin and andrew . I would recomend a visit or two salmon have to pass through here it just needs fishing regular lots of water to fish and lots of places for fish to hide so best of both worlds . Nice vid mate
I think that I must have pressed the go button twice with the thought of fishing at Dalmarnock ....... I am fortunate to have seen it when salmon were splashing about in their dozens and had several sea trout around 5 lbs of the beat Cheers Iain 🥃
It was still an enjoyable day Chris casting conditions were good and the breeze only picked up in the late afternoon and I went home looking like I had spent a week in Majorca Cheers Iain 🥃
Hi Mike I fished at Dalmarnock years ago and wondered why it had taken so long to return . Its a lovely beat to fish even when there is not a lot of catching Cheers Iain 🥃
What a cracking river to fish Iain, A shame you didn’t connect with a fish as it looked a cracking beat. Didn’t see anything showing so they must of been very deep but nevertheless great to get out and get a fly on the water🍺 Steve.
Hi again Steve I fished there a lot years ago with a lot of successes and when you go back to beats years later the memories come flooding back . Still a great day out Cheers Iain 🥃
enjoyable Iain, sad state things are, ness and district head resigned mid-session, his stocked smolts got wiped out to the tune of 80 p.cent mortality within the river, that's after the first 6 months catch totaling a big 0. sad times
I think that most rivers have struggled due to high water temps and stale water and it is horrendous to think that so many smolts lost will impact on next year and the year afters returns . My heart goes out to all the guys that will have spent so much time in the hatchery . no more words can help Take care
@@IainSB yes definitely and you always learn even if the fishing is quiet. Your videos are great viewing. Have started to do a few of my own but nowhere near your standard!! Tight lines 🎣
evey time that you go fishing the conditions are different Steve and fire up a new challenge to us anglers , pools change every year sometimes only slightly and that can alter where the fish may lie so its always a learning curve ......... Just like editing videos ... and I wish you all the best because it can be frustrating and watching back on a days fishing can be so entertaining . All the best Cheers Iain🥃
I am back there soon for a day and I am sure that I will have a day of enjoyment and as always try get a fish ..... and remember to change my batteries in the camera you will have to watch my next edit for an old man showing senility to understand 😒 Cheers again Iain 🥃
Hi Royston I know that there are a lot of people that only fill there feeders in the winter and spring and I find that the seed seems to last a lot longed between fills in the summer when there is an abundance of bugs and beasties in the garden . I haven't put any pellets or pesticides in my garden and the birds love to eat things that are alive rather than swing on my feeder , but I do supplement there diet Cheers Iain 🥃
Good video, putting out some line. I rediscovered Dalmarnock last Sat. Unbelievable fly water from top to bottom!
