My mother lost a necklace on this ride. I hit my nose on the guard when I was a kid on it. But I also had many good times on it... and the splashdown bridge. I'm gonna miss you, Snake River Falls.
Yes! Finally someone else who loved the Pepsi sponsorship! The ride logo doesn't look the same without the Pepsi logo on it. Went to CP in 1993 for my 6th birthday. Good times.
As a yearly cedar point visitor, it breaks my heart to see that they have gotten rid of this ride without most of us being able to have one last ride. The rides closing was much too short notice and for this I am upset with cedar point… goodbye snake River falls, you didn’t deserve this 😢
Crazy thing is, I went to Cedar Point for the first time this past summer and made Snake River Falls a top priority since my parents had ridden Splashwater Falls at Six Flags Great America. (This was before Snake River Falls was announced to be closing.) I remember absolutely NOBODY wanted to ride in the front row so my mom and I looked at each other and hopped into the front row. It is no doubt my favorite water ride of all time after that experience. Even better than Splash Mountain. Just wish CP didn’t make the bridge for the exit grates because when you have no shoes on, it hurts like heck while you walk in that thing. I’ll take it. TT2 make have been a no-go, but I’ll take my Snake River Falls credit.
i was at the park with my parents a few weeks ago. i’m a weenie when it comes to drops (yes i know SRF is not THAT big…), but i forced myself to go on since it’s closing. rode twice in a row with my dad and we had a blast. i’ll miss it so much!!!
I Like The Virtual On, But I Like The Thunder Canyon, It Always Splashed On Us, But It Was a Totally Worth It. Goodbye, Snake River Falls, Thanks For Cooling Us Off From The Heat.
Much like how White Water Landing was closed for Maverick, Snake River Falls will as well....Gosh, it's bad enough we had to lose Shoot The Rapids, Wilcat (1979 version not the 1970 version), Disaster Transport, Wicked Twister, and Top Thrill Dragster, now we loose this one.....Thank goodness for websites like rcdb and wikis out there who preserve and archive info about these old defunct rides no longer mentioned on theme parks websites...
@@ginog5037 Wildcat was near where Jumbo Jet, Wicked Twister, and Disaster Transport/Avalanche used to be...So it would be a few feet away from where the main gates were...But yes, you are correct on that one.
@SuperFlashDriver Thanks for the flashback, I forgot about Jumbo Jet. That was sick, literally & figurily. After the last time I rode it, someone had a protein mishap🤮The good old days when rides actually scared you. The 1970 version of Wilcat was just that, Shaking and Rickety being temporary...
@@ginog5037 Yeah, believe it or not, some of the wild mouses I went on back in the 2000s were rough at best. Heck, Blue Streak not only has uncomfortable seats for me, but it feels like some parts of the structure look like I can have my head chopped off (This is especially true for El Toro at Six Flags...I can't event ride that dang thing without having to duck not once, not twice, but nearly 6 to 8 times throughout the whole dang ride, while experiencing G-forces while curving at a 120 degree left and right turns.....Some people love El Toro, but I personally like Nitro and Kingda Ka better than El Toro. But yeah, upon my research from RCDB, it was Jumbo Jet and surprisingly, it was one of the many models of coasters that used that exact track layout for other parks around the world (Needless to say there were multiple versions of wild mouses and jumbo jet type of coasters back in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s....Sooooo many of them simply because they were cheap and easy to operate). Sadly, considering I was born in the 1990s, I never got to experience ANY of the coasters or attractions from before the 1990s (1980s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s, etc.) and thus, very little footage of people riding Jumbo Jet exists... And also, a protein mishap....A brand new way of saying someone puked that I never heard of, but it's best to not eat or drink before you go on the ride if you ask me. And yeah, coasters back before the 2000s/2010s were rough as heck (which is why some of those rides, while scary), in my opinion the Jumbo Jet looked more like a spiral version of the runaway mine train, just a lot more bumpier and swung around like the 1979 version of Wildcat..... Yeah, don't get me wrong, there are some attractions over 200+ feet that can feel terrifying to many children, but some were made with not only thrills and bumps, but comfort in mind as well. Needless to say, we won't be having bumpy old fashion coaster train seats and models anytime soon, since some old coaster companies have went bankrupt or been bought out by larger corporations and use the models they made instead of the logo they made prior. But yeah, you're welcome to bring back up something not many would remember, considering Jumbo Jet only ran for 3-5 years before it was closed down and replaced with a different ride altogether.
@ginog5037 The original Wildcat was actually on the Lake side of the park, across from the current basketball game, where the Wicked Twister was. Next to Sealand aquarium and the Funhouse
Thanks for the POV. I still have the park guide sitting around somewhere from the year this opened. Unfortunately it was one of those rides that required a change of clothes or some planning to make worthwhile.
How'd i know you were gonna get a Maverick train coming around that bend 😂 It's those little things that make the park AND every ounce of human effort behind everything so speical.
I got a chance a few weeks ago to ride this only 1 time and while it is simple,it’s still incredible. Hopefully, this ride’s replacement can Honor this legendary attraction in some way!
I got to ride this when I went to Cedar Point in the summer of 2022, and it got me SOAKED! It was hot on the days when I visited the park, so riding Snake River Falls was a great way to cool off!
I finally got to ride it in late August, and oh my, do you get wet! Sad to see it go, but excited for what is next! Shame that Maverick train was just a few seconds too late!
Between this and the rumor of the flume possibility leaving at Busch Gardens soon, I feel like the golden Flume Age is coming to an end, and it's pretty sad.
Two closures made you think the era of flumes is over? If two coasters close in a year are you gripped by the same fear? There are still a whole bunch out there. If you drive like 4 hours south KI has not only a big one like SRF, but also a classic style smaller flume themed to peanuts. If there ever was a "golden age" it was probably decades ago when flumes were still a novel concept.
Wow i miss cedar point ive been to it 2 times and it was the best days of my life i recently went there but still miss all the thrill of the 300ft drop of milleniumn force
To put this into perspective when it comes to land. The last time I recall one of these being removed was in 2011. It was to make way for X Flight at Six Flags Great America. Which is a decent sized coaster. I’m curious what goes in this location?
I'm going to really miss this ride..I have lots of great memories of riding this with my children while they were growing up. My daughter and I are coming tomorrow (Labor Day) to try to get our final rides on it 😞
That WAS calm and relaxing... until the huge DROP and the SPLASH. I'm soaking wet, my computer and desk are RUINED, and I don't think I have enough towels to get all the water out of the carpet. THANKS CEDAR POINT! You owe me a new computer. My lawyers will be in touch.
Yo thanks a lot Cedar Fair for deciding to tear down the only good water ride inside of the park! Keep being greedy! Same thing happened to Wicked Twister and others...
Why? They aren't just going to halt plans that very well may have been put on hold like 4 years ago. Especially a ride like this. People as old as me probably have some amount of sentimentality wrapped up in it, but I mean nobody goes to cedar point to ride SRF.
I used to love this ride when I was little. Haven’t been on in about a decade. Too bad they are removing it. Would have loved to have my kids experience it
Sometimes, these rides are important because they're the only ones our older relatives can ride with us. I have many memories of going on "less world class rides" with my grandfather who had a heart condition that I will always value more than the other rides because of that.
I loved going on this ride one of the last times I went on it my friend was waiting for me to get off the ride and she and a bird pooped on her head but that while I was on thunder canyon rapids 😂
I didn’t get the chance to ride this and I won’t have enough time to get back to Cedar Point before it’s gone. Farewell Snake River Falls 🫡
Same. As well as Wildcat :(
I will miss this ride so much.
Why are they getting rid of this?? 😢😢😢 My childhood!!!
@@heatherluck2892 Maybe a new one in 2026
Same but at least I went on the thunder canon
This was a fun ride, but also hadn't been on it for over a decade! Thanks for the cool POV
Gonna miss this one. Loved standing on the bridge after getting off to get soaked a second time 😂
Also, when they used it for HalloWeekends...
@@ginog5037 That is Thunder Canyon.
@@MTigers006 Yes!

I'm planning to go for the first time this weekend. RIP Snake River Falls

Remember riding this at age 8 one of my first times at the park. Legendary.
I remember when this ride was sponsored by Pepsi the first year it came out!! We will miss you Snake River Falls but excited for the future!!

RIP, Snake River Falls. You were a nice treat on a hot day at the Point.
A shoot-the-chute ride where the boats do not slide backwards down the lift. Escape from Pompeii could never. You will be missed, Snake River Falls!

Kings Island still has theirs.
I wonder if it's going to be a dippin' dots or a full restaurant that takes its place? The water was always really gross.
