- Last time I was here in this restaurant, Tesla didn't even exist yet, in fact, I don't think any forms of EV vehicles was on the road yet. That's a pretty long time ago. A restaurant in an old part of a city that existed that long? You know they've got something up their sleeves. After this long awaited visit, I can see why they are still in business after these many years of operation. Their dishes are all really delicious and isn't your ordinary run of the mill type of Dim Sum from just any other Yum Cha place. They've actually got their unique taste.
Went once in my university days, was pricey at tge time compared to other options in Chinatown. Completely forgot it was there, thanks for the memories.
Exactly, I found them to be upscale back years ago, but that things are all costly, it's normal I guess.
It's memories to all of us now, it closed down, and we don't really have a clue as to why for real, it was quite busy when we were there.
Thanks man!
That looks really good, very fresh looking as well. Thx for sharing!
They are absolutely delicious and they are very meticulous about their plates and decorations. You should definitely go check them out!
@@therink123 Will do when I get the chance! Thx!
Looks like another very nice restaurant! Thanks for the video!
You’re very welcome! They are so nice I’m willing to go back anytime. All the food we had were so delicious it’s crazy!
Them being here for such a long time must mean they are quite good!
I guess so cause they were really good back in the day and they still are. keeping good general quality so that’s good news. I’d go back any day!
Hey nice looking hotel and restaurant there! What is the hotel there like, seems very cozy!
Sure this hotel is pretty good, we haven’t personal experiences with them however. Seems to be very popular amongst travellers tho as they’re very busy the day we filmed this video. Many visitors were checking in during our time there.
Hey that location looks familiar. It's very close to Dundas square? Looks like a good restaurant and hotel! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah you’re right about the location. It is super convenient and very close to many attractions. I’d say it’s a great location to get something nice to eat and go from there.
Wow! 1995.. We were in high school. Thank you bro for taking us this dim sum in downtown Toronto. I should give it a try sometimes. $5 Parking is pretty good deal. Where is the parking though? Thanks for sharing Rink.
Hey Wayne! They are so god it’s amazing! Their parking garage is right under the the Doubletree Hotel. Just remember to give them your license plate number.
Oh, it’s $5 for three hours btw, you can take your time.
Happy holiday! Nice dim sum place!
Thanks! They're really nice, dim sum is really delicious! Happy New Year!
I can count on one 1 hand how many times i've been there. Its too bad no one took up the mantle to continue on that restaurant. Not many places are still around anymore since i was a kid living near Chinatown up to the late 90s.
It really is too bad they had to stop operations. And I thought their business was quite successful! All these older places are disappearing, and new ones are just not the same.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but this place was closed last year and the own has retired.
Sadly, you're correct! They closed down sometime back. Not sure if it was due to the owner's retirement. But sad to see this place go. Not much to choose from downtown. If you know of any places around that location, please let us know! Thanks!
The place seems to be authentic! Like those restaurants within a hotel. More confidence boosting in terms of quality control. Did you find them to be clean and tidy?
Sure, I have lots of confidence in them and their staffs in running their business. They are very clean and tidy. More so than most. You should go check them out! I think you’ll enjoy your experience!
I like these older restaurants with history behind them. Good share! btw, do you know how that hotel is?
Hey there, me too, brings out the story behind the place and sometimes the city as well. The hotel we haven’t any experience with but seems to be quite popular as it was quite busy even the short time we were there. I know the location is awesome tho. Very convenient and I’d say it’s not a sketchy location if that’s your concern.
@@therink123 Yeah there are too many places that look ok but only locals will be able to understand the true nature of the surroundings so that's why I asked. Good to know that it's easy access, wonder how it is for motorcycle parking!? Thanks man!
I’ve never been there, they weren’t there when I left in 1983
Now there is a constant for you, unfortunately, they are no longer there. It’s a shame since they’re quite good..
@@therink123 they closed down😰
Btw, I will accompany my son for his college commencement next week snd we’ll stay in downtown, any good Chinese restaurants you reckon? 🙏
Come on! Parking fee😂😂
Yeah, $5 isn’t too bad!
